Oct 5, 2012I get this message when i want to start up the phone. A few days ago it also had problems to start up: I pressed "on" button untill it vibrates (then it normally starts up) but it didn't do anything, after some tries (around 15) it did start up. Then today the phone just shutted down and wasn't able to start up. And I get the message in the title.I have tried hard reset (shift, space, backspace + on) but it doesn't do anything.I have the newest firmware for my country (Belgium) and i think its 92.003 but not entirely sure.

Jun 7, 2010I have just updated the new software on my n97, it downloaded and updated fine then it kept coming up with memory full on C drive, delet some memory. After about an hour trying to reach the settings menu to delete some data off that drive, i thought turning the phone on and off might help but i was wrong it now comes up with phone start up failed. contact the retailer. Can i fix this myself or should i just take my phone back to the shop and does my guarantee cover this seems it was a nokia update?

Jan 7, 2010I've had my 5800 for 4mnths and all was working fine then i tried to put sum music on my fone using the usb like i had done previously. this time however the fone would not show as being connected in media transfer mode so i could not use the ovi player to transfer files Ive tried restoring factory settings and updating various thing but nothing has worked. I have found out that i am able to connect via usb for mass storage thou which i dont understand. i hope sumbody out there can help.

Feb 3, 2010I purchased your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music mobile phone and I am trying to update the software/driver to improve 1: Touch Screen scrolling, 2: version of OviMaps, 3: Ovi Contacts, 4: SW application, and 5: WLAN performance.I called technical support for mobile phones, unfortunately it is unavailable according to the recording, i've waited for i think its wrong, but nothing happened the call dropped. The current software version is V31.0.101, Software version date: 16-09-2009, type: RM-356 and it does not upgrade. I have tried using my phone options to upgrade/update the software, this did not work, i have tried using the Nokia Software Updater but it can not find the new version of the software, and I have tried searching for the new software version by using my phone code under the battery and still it can not find the new software version.Has anyone resolve this issue? I need help on resolving this issue.

Apr 9, 2010I have a nokia 5800 Nav. Edition. Here is step by step issues I am facing with the phone:
1. Whenever I go to OVI Store it gives me a message saying that an Update is available and I need to install it before going forward. So when I click on Update button it takes me to several screens and finally Outpus saying that "Unable to start the operation. Installer is in use already."
2. In order to solve this issue I went through some of the discussion and found out that in order to get this problem addressed i need to follow the steps to Open the file manager and remove the Memory Card followed by Removing the Card physically.
3. This is when I realized that for some reason my memory card is stuck inside, so when I press it the dock seems to be releasing it but it refuses to come out completely.
4. Despite removing the memory card and undocking it I am still not able to apply the update to Ovi Store but this time the error message is different. Here are the steps:
a. I go to file manager and remove the memory card.
b. I undock it physically.
c. I start the Ovi Store and click on Update.
d. It goes through several screens as above and finally asks for Installation (this did not happen when Mem card was in).
e. It starts the installer but then aborts it saying "Update Error".

Jan 6, 2010Both PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until I updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week. Now, whenever I start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine. Here is the error message pop-up on the screen when Ovi crashed.
"Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is actually provided and the only option is to "Close program". Here is the windows error log :

This is what i did so far :

iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800. I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.

Jan 14, 2010Nokia have finally updated 5800 FW but i am unable to download it because the NSU isn't working correctly. Everytime I open the program I get the message; "Nokia Software Updater has attempted to connect to the internet but has failed three times. This could be because of a poor-quality, slow or intermittent internet connection, or restrictions due to a firewall.
If requested by your firewall, Nokia Software Updater needs the following applications to gain access to the internet:
nsl_host_process.exe
nsu_u_clienti.exe" The program will then close down.
I have a good, steady internet connection (10mb) and all firewalls are off.

Mar 9, 2010Having been able to control my music via the supplied headset of my Music Express 5800 it has now stopped working. I can still hear perfectly well via it, but the volume control, stop, start of skip functions have now stopped. I'm not too sure the ability to answer the phone from it exists either. Can anyone tell me if this is due to the headset itself or if there's an option in the 5800 that I need to look at? If it's the latter I won't need to make a trip to the store.
