Nokia :: 5800 Software Version V31.0.101 Failed To Update To 40.0.005

I purchased your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music mobile phone and I am trying to update the software/driver to improve 1: Touch Screen scrolling, 2: version of OviMaps, 3: Ovi Contacts, 4: SW application, and 5: WLAN performance.I called technical support for mobile phones, unfortunately it is unavailable according to the recording, i've waited for i think its wrong, but nothing happened the call dropped. The current software version is V31.0.101, Software version date: 16-09-2009, type: RM-356 and it does not upgrade. I have tried using my phone options to upgrade/update the software, this did not work, i have tried using the Nokia Software Updater but it can not find the new version of the software, and I have tried searching for the new software version by using my phone code under the battery and still it can not find the new software version.Has anyone resolve this issue? I need help on resolving this issue.
Both PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until I updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week. Now, whenever I start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine. Here is the error message pop-up on the screen when Ovi crashed.
"Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is actually provided and the only option is to "Close program". This is what i did so far : i) Uninstall Ovi , re-download from Nokia web, reinstall : Failed to fix ii) Uninstall Ovi and all Nokia related software , clean Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800. I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.
After updating to firmware version 40, I have a freezing video problem.When I play video file (.mp4), it starts playing as always but after a while image freezes but sound continues playing. No way forwarding video, the freezed image is always there but sound plays normally.I have Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, firmware version 40.2.005.263.04.Everything else is working correctly in the phone after update to 40 firmware.Is it a problem that could be solved?
I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
i bought a nokia 5800 US version unlocked mobile handset 10 months back. now i am using indian BSNL 3G SIM in india. my mobile handset is not detecting the bsnl 3G signal. from bsnl people i understood that their technology is 3.5G HSDPA 2100. according to gsmarena the US version supports "HSDPA 850 / 1900". is there a way to make it work with the bsnl 3G network? voice calls, SMS and web browsing working. Video calls, MMS, TV, etc... not working. my mobile set has firmware version 21.2.025 date: 18-04-2009 RM - 428 updating the firmware with indian version firmware, will it help in solving the problem?
Which is the latest available software version for Nokia 5800? The one which is in my phone is 30.0.011. However i tried to download OviMaps and it's saying that to install new maps the software version needs to be 31.0.008 or higher. I tried to update the firmware using software updater but it says that no new updates available. Which one to believe now? Product code is 0575590. Is there any new update available for this product code? If it is there how to update?
i have been upgrade my phone (nokia 5800) by myself today. after i update my nokia 5800 from version 20 to version 40.0.005. i found that i lost my language that i have in phone. after a few hours, i get to know that, there is no chinese in version 40.0.005. So with this Post message, i would like to ask about, is there any way to get back my language pack that i have last time? because I really need Chinese in my nokia 5800,i m from malaysia here there is a lot malaysian using this phone.. i guess they might have the same problem like me in addition, i can;t get to connect to the Wifi.. after i update my version too. when i press Wifi Icon, it will give me a pop up msg, and wrote "system error" i hav b tried in "Nokia Software Updater" to keep on reinstall my Nokia 5800 software version. but still the same. because i still get the same pop up msg. i try to install "maps_installer_3.03_10wk1_b05_s60_5.0.Nocs.sis" on my 5800 express music. Installation stops with error message like :"application not compatible with software version. Please update your software". But wenn i run Nokia software updater or nokia pc suite they both tell me my phonesoftware is the newest version and can not be updated. My phone is Version 30.0.011.C02.01
i have installed on my 5800 xpressmusic ovi maps latest version but it does not work. it doesnt have any connection. if i click my position or drive ot anything else it sais on the top of the screen waiting for GPS and it doesnt do anything. it has no signal, i dont know.
I want just want to ask for those whoe already updated their 5800 to version 40 firmware if their phone already supports VoIP. I've read on some forums that Nokia 5800 doesn't support VoIP. Is the new update already have like the VoIP support of N97?
I bought nokia 5800 xpress music phone recently in Italy. software version was v31.0.1. I found there is a new version with 40.0.0.5. in one of my friend's phone. I tried with many options that are found in the web to update the version. but it always saying that there is no update. what went wrong and If someone know how to solve this please provide me the solution.I frustrated and thinking that made a bad decision buying this phone. please help me. It is not that i need the latest version software immediately..but the only reason I feel unhappy that this phone is not updating when there is something new.
I've had my 5800 for 4mnths and all was working fine then i tried to put sum music on my fone using the usb like i had done previously. this time however the fone would not show as being connected in media transfer mode so i could not use the ovi player to transfer files Ive tried restoring factory settings and updating various thing but nothing has worked. I have found out that i am able to connect via usb for mass storage thou which i dont understand. i hope sumbody out there can help.

I have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I downloaded Nokia Suite 3.7.22 and I am trying to upgrade to latest firmware version. The website says it should be v.60.0.003 - [URL]. When I run Software Updates in Nokia Suite I get message saying "No updates available" - Your phone has the software version V 52.0.101 installed. Nokia have finally updated 5800 FW but i am unable to download it because the NSU isn't working correctly. Everytime I open the program I get the message; "Nokia Software Updater has attempted to connect to the internet but has failed three times. This could be because of a poor-quality, slow or intermittent internet connection, or restrictions due to a firewall.

I have a good, steady internet connection (10mb) and all firewalls are off.
I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
I'm using nokia 5800 model. In that two messages got failed while sending and stored in Outbox. I tried to delete those two messages. But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem

I have nokia 5800 and i like it very much... But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out
