Nokia :: BSNL 3G Not Working In 5800 US Version

i bought a nokia 5800 US version unlocked mobile handset 10 months back. now i am using indian BSNL 3G SIM in india. my mobile handset is not detecting the bsnl 3G signal. from bsnl people i understood that their technology is 3.5G HSDPA 2100. according to gsmarena the US version supports "HSDPA 850 / 1900". is there a way to make it work with the bsnl 3G network? voice calls, SMS and web browsing working. Video calls, MMS, TV, etc... not working. my mobile set has firmware version 21.2.025 date: 18-04-2009 RM - 428 updating the firmware with indian version firmware, will it help in solving the problem?

I've recently bought a brand new Nokia 5800 with latest firmware version 50. but after few days i had two problems with it.
1. Sometimes display auto rotate function not working..
2. Touch screen sensibility too poor....
i did hard reset too.... still have problems

Which is the latest available software version for Nokia 5800? The one which is in my phone is 30.0.011. However i tried to download OviMaps and it's saying that to install new maps the software version needs to be 31.0.008 or higher. I tried to update the firmware using software updater but it says that no new updates available. Which one to believe now? Product code is 0575590. Is there any new update available for this product code? If it is there how to update?

i have been upgrade my phone (nokia 5800) by myself today. after i update my nokia 5800 from version 20 to version 40.0.005. i found that i lost my language that i have in phone. after a few hours, i get to know that, there is no chinese in version 40.0.005. So with this Post message, i would like to ask about, is there any way to get back my language pack that i have last time? because I really need Chinese in my nokia 5800,i m from malaysia here there is a lot malaysian using this phone.. i guess they might have the same problem like me in addition, i can;t get to connect to the Wifi.. after i update my version too. when i press Wifi Icon, it will give me a pop up msg, and wrote "system error" i hav b tried in "Nokia Software Updater" to keep on reinstall my Nokia 5800 software version. but still the same. because i still get the same pop up msg. So i really hope that Nokia service department will get to solve this problem as soon as posible. thank u so much.

i try to install "maps_installer_3.03_10wk1_b05_s60_5.0.Nocs.sis" on my 5800 express music. Installation stops with error message like :"application not compatible with software version. Please update your software". But wenn i run Nokia software updater or nokia pc suite they both tell me my phonesoftware is the newest version and can not be updated. My phone is Version 30.0.011.C02.01

i have installed on my 5800 xpressmusic ovi maps latest version but it does not work. it doesnt have any connection.
if i click my position or drive ot anything else it sais on the top of the screen waiting for GPS and it doesnt do anything. it has no signal, i dont know.

I purchased your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music mobile phone and I am trying to update the software/driver to improve 1: Touch Screen scrolling, 2: version of OviMaps, 3: Ovi Contacts, 4: SW application, and 5: WLAN performance.I called technical support for mobile phones, unfortunately it is unavailable according to the recording, i've waited for i think its wrong, but nothing happened the call dropped. The current software version is V31.0.101, Software version date: 16-09-2009, type: RM-356 and it does not upgrade. I have tried using my phone options to upgrade/update the software, this did not work, i have tried using the Nokia Software Updater but it can not find the new version of the software, and I have tried searching for the new software version by using my phone code under the battery and still it can not find the new software version.Has anyone resolve this issue? I need help on resolving this issue.

I bought nokia 5800 xpress music phone recently in Italy. software version was v31.0.1. I found there is a new version with 40.0.0.5. in one of my friend's phone. I tried with many options that are found in the web to update the version. but it always saying that there is no update. what went wrong and If someone know how to solve this please provide me the solution.I frustrated and thinking that made a bad decision buying this phone. please help me. It is not that i need the latest version software immediately..but the only reason I feel unhappy that this phone is not updating when there is something new.

Recently I have started to use E63 model phone. I tried to connect to net through the BSNL WiFi Router (Model # WA3002-g1). My phone is detecting the Signal but unable to connect to net as I am getting an error message 'No Gateway Reply'? Can somebody help me ? I am not very tech savy so elaborate the setup changes suggested both for ph & Router.

Both PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until I updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week. Now, whenever I start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine. Here is the error message pop-up on the screen when Ovi crashed.
"Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is actually provided and the only option is to "Close program". Here is the windows error log :

This is what i did so far :
i) Uninstall Ovi , re-download from Nokia web, reinstall : Failed to fix
ii) Uninstall Ovi and all Nokia related software , clean Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800. I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.

I have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I downloaded Nokia Suite 3.7.22 and I am trying to upgrade to latest firmware version. The website says it should be v.60.0.003 - [URL]. When I run Software Updates in Nokia Suite I get message saying "No updates available" - Your phone has the software version V 52.0.101 installed. I then ran Fiddler and I found out that a request to the following URL is being made and it is not successful: [URL]

After updating to firmware version 40, I have a freezing video problem.When I play video file (.mp4), it starts playing as always but after a while image freezes but sound continues playing. No way forwarding video, the freezed image is always there but sound plays normally.I have Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, firmware version 40.2.005.263.04.Everything else is working correctly in the phone after update to 40 firmware.Is it a problem that could be solved?

I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.

The facebook application for E71/E72 does not work with the new firmware version 031.023 for E72.The option key does not work and you can not exit the application.I reinstalled the software and the result is de same.

I have a 5800 XpressMusic and recently bought an BH-503 Bluetooth headset. It paired easily with my 5800 and I have no problems connecting the headset to my 5800. The sound quality is good and I enjoy listening to music on the new headset. The mic, however, doesn't work when paired with my 5800. I can hear the other guy without any problems but he cannot hear me. I've tried calling all of my friends and they obviously use loads of different mobile phones and landline phones, the result is always the same. I've tried resetting the headset - to no avail. Removing it from my 5800's Bluetooth paired devices list, then adding it again - no help. To test the mic itself, I paired the headset with my PC (a Dell XPS M1530). It paired fine - and the mic works!
It's a bit on the quiet side but it works fine, I can chat on Skype and record voice on my PC. So obviously the problem is pairing the mic with my 5800. My 5800 recently came back from Nokia after some service (wouldn't switch on, now fixed) and has firmware v. 40.something (haven't got the phone at hand right now). I have beautiful sound in the headset, all the buttons work fine and I love the headset. Everything works when paired with my PC, it's just the mic not working with my 5800. FYI, I haven't tried the 5800 with other Bluetooth headsets. Maybe my 5800 has Bluetooth problems. I guess I could go back to the store where I bought the BH-503 and ask to borrow another Bluetooth headset to check if that fixes it.

I bought a new Nokia 5800 xpress music last week. I upgraded the fiwmare to 40.xx and the ovi maps to 3.0.3 immediately after purchase. I see that GPS is not working atall. I can see that GPS data at the top but i am unable to get my current position. The same is working on my frineds mobile. I live in india and dont think place is a problem. I tried to get my position using GPRS as well as WLAN biut no use. Update: I just installed Google maps and its able to detect my current position! something is not right with ovi maps i guess.

The '7' key of alphanumeric keypad is not working properly. On my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I am anuable to write character q and r. When ever I press it, it either prints p or 7. But it does not print q and r.I soft reset my phone. But the problem resumes. Its annoying. As I cant type.People, please suggest some solution for it.

I have 5800 XM with firmware v50.0.005 and ovi maps v3 But whenever i try opening ovi maps it opens and closes automaticaly within 3seconds I have uninstaled the ovi maps and instald it again,i have also restored my phone to factory settings and then updatd my firmware and ovi maps But the problem with the OVI maps not working continues Does anyone else face the same problem Can someone help me find a solution?

BBC mobile live streaming used to work great on my 5800XM when I was on V3 and V4. I upgraded to V5 last week, and now it no longer works. The BBC web page saysthat the handset is not compatible. However, when you read the help file, it says that the 5800 is a compatible device.

i've had my 5800 XM about a month now and the ovi store app has never worked. I have installed the latest phone fw and even re downloaded the app from my nokia a few times now but it still will not work. When i launch the ovi store app, all that happens is the ovi store screen comes up but nothing else happens.
