I tried using Sony Bridge for Mac to update my Z3. Naturally, it failed (I had massive problems updating the other Xperia I had too).
All my phone wants to do now is say 'The software update failed.Make sure your phone is connected to a computer and try again'. This is, of course, a ridiculous thing to suggest, as my Mac will now not recognise the device as I can't turn it on.
I have just updated the new software on my n97, it downloaded and updated fine then it kept coming up with memory full on C drive, delet some memory. After about an hour trying to reach the settings menu to delete some data off that drive, i thought turning the phone on and off might help but i was wrong it now comes up with phone start up failed. contact the retailer. Can i fix this myself or should i just take my phone back to the shop and does my guarantee cover this seems it was a nokia update?

View 5 Replies View RelatedFive days back purchased a Xperia X10 and upgraded the memory to 16GB. It was working fine since yesterday morning, when I updated the phone through SE PC Companion software.
First SEPCC presented a message for update then it told to disconnect the phone from USB, switch it off, remove battery for at least 5 sec., put battery again, connect it USB with pressing back button. After that it starts downloading the update and then tried to install the update. But it failed 2 times.
Right now I am not able to start the mobile even by removing the memory. On the screen it displays SONY ERICSSON text and a '!' mark inside a triangle.
Got a message on my phone to plug it into the Pc for an xperia update.
The update failed and when I got my phone, it was off. tryied to turn it on but it would just vibrate and nothing else.
Tryied about everything, letting it charge, turn it on with Volume + pressed, nothing works.
When I put it to charge the led blinks red but it doesn't turn on. The screen is just black, not even the logo pops up
I've seen a lot of discussion regarding the X10 not turning on after a failed update, but my issue seems to be different from all of them.I've seen people mentioning that their green light flickers, or the screen is frozen or displays an error message. Mine does NONE of that.Holding down the power button does nothing at all. The phone shows no sign of life. The LED doesn't come on, the screen doesn't come on, nothing. It does nothing.The battery is charged (and I even left it charging for over an hour - during which the LED was STILL off) and it will not connect to any of the Sony Ericsson software on my laptop.

I followed every instruction but I had to abort the process when PC Companion prompted me to discontinue due to low battery conditions. I charged my battery. I connected phone and continued process. a couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.
