Got a message on my phone to plug it into the Pc for an xperia update.
The update failed and when I got my phone, it was off. tryied to turn it on but it would just vibrate and nothing else.
Tryied about everything, letting it charge, turn it on with Volume + pressed, nothing works.
When I put it to charge the led blinks red but it doesn't turn on. The screen is just black, not even the logo pops up
I've seen a lot of discussion regarding the X10 not turning on after a failed update, but my issue seems to be different from all of them.I've seen people mentioning that their green light flickers, or the screen is frozen or displays an error message. Mine does NONE of that.Holding down the power button does nothing at all. The phone shows no sign of life. The LED doesn't come on, the screen doesn't come on, nothing. It does nothing.The battery is charged (and I even left it charging for over an hour - during which the LED was STILL off) and it will not connect to any of the Sony Ericsson software on my laptop.

And cannot remember what happen but i ended with the Software update failed error, and the phone switch off and on and off and on with the same message, i read other post about turn off and charge, but i turn off with the little red button to force it but if i connect the magnetic cable or the usb cable to power it turn on again, i force to turn off and and the phone turn on again (with the message of failed update).

All my phone wants to do now is say 'The software update failed.Make sure your phone is connected to a computer and try again'. This is, of course, a ridiculous thing to suggest, as my Mac will now not recognise the device as I can't turn it on.
Recently i was updatin my Z2 with a wifi conection, but after a while it stopped downloading the update and it showed me this message: "Error - Update failed", and now i cant use it, i tried to reset it with the reset botton but it didn´t work so now i don´t know what to do,

Today my phone has automatically downloaded system update, after completion i installed that update and few minutes after installation, phone restarted and shows this massage "The software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to computer and try again."
I connected my phone to the computer but still shows the same message and shuts down automatically and im not using any custom recovery.
Yesterday I updated my phone. After the update I'm not able to start up the phone again. The black start screen (black screen saying SONY Xperia) pops up for a few seconds and then the phone turns off and starts up again with the same screen. It keeps doing this over and over again.
I've tried pushing the OFF butten/+vol button, but the same things happen when I try to turn if on again.
I've tried to connect it to PC companion, but since the phone turns off and on all the time I'm not able to connect it to the PC.
I can't get into my xperia z3 after downloading the new update. I did it yesterday (24/7-15). It only says that Android is starting and that the phone is optimizing apps...after a while my phone doesn't work at all or just restarts again.
View 1 Replies View Relateda couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.

2nd try:I'm not sure about the battery: I had the phone plugged in for five hours but as it just looped through the power on sequence and showed me the warning message again and again I really do not know whether there was any power in it.Took out battery for about half an hour.Took out SIM and SD.Put battery back in Uninstalled SEUS Rebooted PC Installed SEUS Rebooted PC Else as above...
Using PC Companion I have progressed to what I can only assume is the end of the preparation phase after 3 hours, the progress bar is complete; and then I get this meaningless message that the update failed.
This is very frustratiing as there is not much clue about what caused the failure. If it is because of a missing component, as pointed out already, why can PC Companion not check at the start of the marathon preparation that everything is in place and we will not waste so much time connected for nothing.
I have tried SUS and that fails because Windows can't find S1Boot with that remarkably phone procedure. I have looked at downloading S1Boot, as suggested, however then there are warnings on Warranty. Does PC Compantion/SUS download not contain S1Boot?

I tried the "power button + volume up" when charging, the phone started powering on and off all the time and after an hour it got really hot ! I was so scared so I unplugged it.
i have a x10 mini which is an o2 pay as you go purchased in england. i followed the sony erricsson instructions posted on Internet to upgrade my phone. after a fun filled few hours the other evening, and after rebooting the phone for a final time the phone was still at v1.6. the pc companion software downloded and appeared to update the phone correctly. now if i try to repeat the upgrade process the pc companion says that the phone's software is up to date.

The sequence of events is as such. My wife bought her phone brand new in Budapest, Hungary while on her way to where we live now (New Caledonia, South Pacific). She had the phone unlocked there (at the store in Budapest) and it had worked splendidly here for six months. We never altered the phone in anyway – stock operating system, one or two minor OTA updates to get the phone to Android 4.4.2 and Sense to 5.0 or 6.0 (I think it was) but nothing like rooting or flashing another ROM. She was checking daily to see when Lollipop was available and, while I was away on duty travel unfortunately, it was suddenly there. She did the download, told the phone to go ahead and update and that was where things went completely south.
By the time she emailed me to tell me her phone no longer worked, she had tried several things such as Recovery and Factory reset, etc. If the phone is put into Recovery mode (from the Bootloader screen – the one with three android figures at the bottom) it just cycles non stop from the red triangle to white screens and back to the red triangle and the only thing you can do to then phone is press Volume up and Power button to get the “Android System Recovery” screen. I have tried to execute all five of commands on that screen – “apply from sd card”, “apply from phone storage” … “wipe cache partition” but the end result is always the same – just an endless red triangle to white screen non stop until the battery dies.
On the Android system Recovery screen, there is a consistent error message “Mount SDCARD failed 1 times” (and then … failed 2/3/4/5 times), followed by “Can not mount SD Card (No such file or directory). So, to recap, anything I try to do from the Bootloader screen leads to the Red Triangle/white screen cycling which can be interrupted ONLY by Volume Up/Power buttons (not by Volume Down/Power buttons) which gives the Android System Recovery screen and all of those options also lead to the Red Triangle/White screen loop. Also, and probably very importantly, it doesn’t seem that my computer can “see” the HTC when plugged in .. at least it doesn’t show up in the traditional way it used to when plugged in via USB cable.
Having installed the update I then went into back up and restore to restore my phone settings but it hasn't worked properly. Only about 20% of my phone book is showing and it says the SIM card is not available, none of my Apps returned and a theme I paid 1.99 for hasn't loaded properly as it's only got the wallpaper and none of the modified icons.My full contact list is still on the SIM card as I checked it in my previous phone that my Dad now has so why isn't it appearing on my phone? It's extremely inconvenient not having access to it as I don't have a back up anywhere else and most of the missing numbers are the ones I use regularly.

I have an Xperia X10 since July on Vodafone UK. It is (was) running the latest SE firmware, but is now 'bricked' - I learned this term while googl-ing for the problem, but all the mentions involve 'debranding' or installation of unofficial (unauthorised) firmware releases - and I haven't done ANY of that.
The story in detail:
1. In recent days I noticed some glitches in the performance of Android Market on the phone: some downloads were reported as 'unsuccessful' and had to be repeated. This happened both with new apps and with updates. On occasions a reboot was necessary for downloads to start happening normaly again.
2. Today (Sat 30-10) this went to extreme: NO download from the Market was possible at all, each time it stalled forever. As explanation, an error message started coming up: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped and needs to be force-closed". No rebooting would solve this. I cleaned several caches (after reading various forums about the error)
3. I decided to reinstall the firmware, hoping to fix the Market performance. Backed up all my data and connected to PC Companion. In the first phase it reported that I "already have the latest version", but I wasn't after an update, so I went on to Repair / Reinstall.
4. The download went smoothly and the installation started well, proceeding to near-the-end. THEN, PC Companion reported: "The installation was unsuccessful, try again". I tried - several times, and the result was the same. Decided to return to my existing installation and seek other ways to repair that 'com.google.,..' process.
5. On attempting to boot, I saw that dreaded YELLOW TRIANGLE with no explanation, and a dead phone not responding to any controls. Had to turn it off by removing thebattery..
6. Several re-installation attempts with both Companion and SEUS also failed, and I am stuck with a useless brick
My Xperia x10 mini pro cable failed during the update. While the update is installing already, the cable got moved accidentally; therefore disconnecting the phone. Right now, my phone won't even turn on! It only shows an image of a phone with an exclamation point.

I fallowed the instructions and took backup in the third step after downloading new software while updating a popup window appeared "unable to Update try later" the phone is still connected to the PC and Internet connection is also fine. I have disconnected from PC then it is asking for step 3(switch off phone then press and hold back button step) again did that no Luck. Now the phone is not starting at all I think it formatted all the software..My phone is almost in dead condition. Now if I connected to the PC it is detecting as a mass storage and PC companion is not at all recognizing

I am connected through usb cable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...
