The update failed and when I got my phone, it was off. tryied to turn it on but it would just vibrate and nothing else.
Tryied about everything, letting it charge, turn it on with Volume + pressed, nothing works.
When I put it to charge the led blinks red but it doesn't turn on. The screen is just black, not even the logo pops up
I tried using Sony Bridge for Mac to update my Z3. Naturally, it failed (I had massive problems updating the other Xperia I had too).
All my phone wants to do now is say 'The software update failed.Make sure your phone is connected to a computer and try again'. This is, of course, a ridiculous thing to suggest, as my Mac will now not recognise the device as I can't turn it on.
I've seen a lot of discussion regarding the X10 not turning on after a failed update, but my issue seems to be different from all of them.I've seen people mentioning that their green light flickers, or the screen is frozen or displays an error message. Mine does NONE of that.Holding down the power button does nothing at all. The phone shows no sign of life. The LED doesn't come on, the screen doesn't come on, nothing. It does nothing.The battery is charged (and I even left it charging for over an hour - during which the LED was STILL off) and it will not connect to any of the Sony Ericsson software on my laptop.

I connected my phone to the computer but still shows the same message and shuts down automatically and im not using any custom recovery.

View 8 Replies View Relateda couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.

Today when I went to use it, it told me an update was available, so I choose to accept the update. When it asked if I wanted to reboot/restart the phone now or later, I selected now. The phone proceeded to update the software and now I can't use my phone at all.
I tried connecting my phone to my computer so I could restore it, but desktop manager says it can't communicate with my phone. And when I plug in the power cord, my phone doesn't even register that it's charging up. So, since so much of my life is connected to my phone, and I can't use my phone at all, I'm squirming. Of course, AT&T online tech support is closed Sundays; I guess nobody else has a phone emergency on Sundays. All I get is a white screen that tells me to reload software.

Using PC Companion I have progressed to what I can only assume is the end of the preparation phase after 3 hours, the progress bar is complete; and then I get this meaningless message that the update failed.
This is very frustratiing as there is not much clue about what caused the failure. If it is because of a missing component, as pointed out already, why can PC Companion not check at the start of the marathon preparation that everything is in place and we will not waste so much time connected for nothing.
I have tried SUS and that fails because Windows can't find S1Boot with that remarkably phone procedure. I have looked at downloading S1Boot, as suggested, however then there are warnings on Warranty. Does PC Compantion/SUS download not contain S1Boot?

I tried the "power button + volume up" when charging, the phone started powering on and off all the time and after an hour it got really hot ! I was so scared so I unplugged it.
i have a x10 mini which is an o2 pay as you go purchased in england. i followed the sony erricsson instructions posted on Internet to upgrade my phone. after a fun filled few hours the other evening, and after rebooting the phone for a final time the phone was still at v1.6. the pc companion software downloded and appeared to update the phone correctly. now if i try to repeat the upgrade process the pc companion says that the phone's software is up to date.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wife’s HTC One M8 somehow messed up during her attempt to update to Lollipop. How to restore her phone if I provide enough detail about what happened/current state.
The sequence of events is as such. My wife bought her phone brand new in Budapest, Hungary while on her way to where we live now (New Caledonia, South Pacific). She had the phone unlocked there (at the store in Budapest) and it had worked splendidly here for six months. We never altered the phone in anyway – stock operating system, one or two minor OTA updates to get the phone to Android 4.4.2 and Sense to 5.0 or 6.0 (I think it was) but nothing like rooting or flashing another ROM. She was checking daily to see when Lollipop was available and, while I was away on duty travel unfortunately, it was suddenly there. She did the download, told the phone to go ahead and update and that was where things went completely south.
By the time she emailed me to tell me her phone no longer worked, she had tried several things such as Recovery and Factory reset, etc. If the phone is put into Recovery mode (from the Bootloader screen – the one with three android figures at the bottom) it just cycles non stop from the red triangle to white screens and back to the red triangle and the only thing you can do to then phone is press Volume up and Power button to get the “Android System Recovery” screen. I have tried to execute all five of commands on that screen – “apply from sd card”, “apply from phone storage” … “wipe cache partition” but the end result is always the same – just an endless red triangle to white screen non stop until the battery dies.
On the Android system Recovery screen, there is a consistent error message “Mount SDCARD failed 1 times” (and then … failed 2/3/4/5 times), followed by “Can not mount SD Card (No such file or directory). So, to recap, anything I try to do from the Bootloader screen leads to the Red Triangle/white screen cycling which can be interrupted ONLY by Volume Up/Power buttons (not by Volume Down/Power buttons) which gives the Android System Recovery screen and all of those options also lead to the Red Triangle/White screen loop. Also, and probably very importantly, it doesn’t seem that my computer can “see” the HTC when plugged in .. at least it doesn’t show up in the traditional way it used to when plugged in via USB cable.
Having installed the update I then went into back up and restore to restore my phone settings but it hasn't worked properly. Only about 20% of my phone book is showing and it says the SIM card is not available, none of my Apps returned and a theme I paid 1.99 for hasn't loaded properly as it's only got the wallpaper and none of the modified icons.My full contact list is still on the SIM card as I checked it in my previous phone that my Dad now has so why isn't it appearing on my phone? It's extremely inconvenient not having access to it as I don't have a back up anywhere else and most of the missing numbers are the ones I use regularly.

I have been following the update instruction from this site, installed companion but during the update the phone switches itself off and the update fails. I have tried one work around involving checking the 'charge battery' but this didn't work and the phone still shuts itself off.
