View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I got a notification today saying there was a system update today. So i proceed to download and install it only to find that after it restarted that my wifi won't turn on. After trying to enable it from the system menu it just says error.
So my tablet is basically useless to me now. Very disappointed no movies available on the market no 3.2. Now no wifi
If this bootloader was unlocked at least i would be able to nandroid back.
Talk about customer dissatisfaction. So how in the hell am i able to undo this awesome system update?
I had my Xoom bootloader unlocked with a custom ROM. I was invited to be apart of the ICS test soak and proceded to reset my device to stock 3.0.1 and locked to bootloader. I am now stuck at Android 3.0.1 and my device will not update.

That's the sprit of this forum.Look, they just do nothing but giving link to their store product and accessories on top of this page. Now I would like to know if the issue happen on all versions of XOOM, the word 'version' here I meanWifi or 3G3.01, 3.1 or 3.2region of the the devices

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a replacement 4G LTE Xoom that I just received a few weeks ago on warrantee from Motorola. It works fine, except it doesn't seem to be getting the system updates that I have heard are already released. Here's what I have right now:Android 3.2.2Baseband Vers CDMA_N_03.1A.52P ltedc_u_05.15.00Kernel vers 2.6.36.3-g6963abe android-build@apa28 #1build #HLK42BI've gone in multiple times to check system updates and it keeps telling me it's up to date. However, I was supposed to be part of the latest push and got the survey, but never got the update. From what I can see, I'm a version or two behind, but I can't seem to get the newer versions.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to update my device after the 4G upgrade. When I first got it, i did not do a factory reset and it downloaded some apps but not all.I then did a factory reset and it shows all the apps to download, but it is not downloading. The apps are just stuck on "downloading."I left it on over night and no movement. I tried both WIFI, 3G, and 4G.I tried 2 more factory resets and nothing.I tried going to the market web page and click install on device.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing frequent system hangs and following reboots, as many as 4 reboots during the after work surfing sessions.
I have not been able to find a pattern, in the beginning I thought that it was connected to the browser, so I installed firefox, but the problem persists.
I have seen the problem on different networks.
i bought a xoom (wifi) while in the us a few weeks ago. after arriving back to vietnam and setting-up my google and android market accounts a number of apps that i tried to download advised me that they are not available for download in "my country". how can i get these apps (e.g., amazon kindle; riptide, etc.) loaded in to my xoom wifi?also ... the android market doesn't even show "books" or "movies" within my android market, nor can i access google books for purchasing! do i have to change my location on my android market account to the us ... can i even do this after its been set-up?i did some further trouble-shooting including the following:
i have contacted various app developers .... all of which have confirmed to me that they allow and support free & paid app downloads in vietnam.i have had multiple friends in the us attempt to access and download numerous android apps to my android market account from their us-based web servers, but they receive the same comment i.e., "this item cannot be installed in your device's country", even though they are on a us server.
it is therefore clear that the problem is with my google/android market/xoom set-up, so can anyone assist me to confirm whether i can either:delete my android market account from my google account and "re-start", setting my location as the united states. (while retaining all my gmail; Internet; etc. account settings and files.) fix my current google/android market account settings to indicate i am in the united states so that i can download apps?
Does anyone know if the Goog is working on a permanent way to identify the browser on a Xoom as a desktop device and not a mobile device?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my wifi Xoom will randomly display either the notification volume or system volume sliders on screen when either the up or down volume buttons are depressed. I can tap the "settings" icon to the right of the slider on either one and both of them display. They also don't display the same way everytime either. Sometimes, system will be on top and notifications on the bottom and vice-a-versa.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I started to update my BB 9700 tonight, since it hadn't been done in awhile. I followed the instructions including the "don't unplug the device if you ever want it to work again" segment. All was going well until I got to step 10 of 12 (Loading Applications) It has now been trying to load applications for over 3 hours, with no advancement in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. My Desktop manager says it is disconnected, but I'm not sure how or when that happened. My screen is white with the computer and the BB and a pair of arrows, but nothing has happened for hours.I'm afraid to disconnect incase I lose everything on my BB and render it unusable!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Wi-Fi Only Xoom (MZ604) and finally received the invitation to update to v3.1 last night. After downloading and proceeding with the update the tablet powered off and restarted. A progress bar for the update was displayed and didn't even get 1/4 through when a Warning Triangle and the Droid Character appeared on screen. After waiting for two hours, this image was still on screen.
I held volume up and the power button and the Xoom rebooted. When it reached the lock screen it would wait a couple seconds and then power off and attempt the upgrade again. The bar graph would update a little and then the Warning Triangle/Droid image appears on screen again. No matter what I could not stop this cycle, let alone power off the unit.
I will admit that I unlocked the Xoom, but I have never attempted to root it. Having said that, I was sure that my upgrade problem was related to unlocking the Xoom and as my laptop with the SDK, ADB and fastboot was at work so I had to wait until this morning to relock. This morning I connected my Xoom and was able to get the NVFlash/RSD/Fastboot menu. I entered Fastboot mode and from my PC issued fastboot oem lock and proceeded to select yes to the warning. The device started the lock process. Here comes my problem: After a couple minutes the device restarted and showed the following error on the logo screen:
Failed image SOS 0x0002
Starting RSD mode 2
I have been fantically looking for a solution to fix this. If I hold down the power and volume up keys the unit will power off briefly but then powers on again (as it did last night) and displays the same SOS error message. If I hold the volume down key (or even the power on and volume down key) when it restarts, I get the following:
Failed image SOS 0x0002 Starting Fastboot protocol support.Which you would think is great, but if I type fastboot devices on my PC, no device is shown and fastboot oem unlock just displays "Waiting for device" on screen without ever communicating with the tablet. I have tried every key combination I could find on the web and have tried rebooting my PC and I cannot get the Xoom to communicate, power off or do anything than display the previously mentioned errors.
make the zoom function part of the operating system. It should not depend on the application or website. Meaning that every screen should be zoomable regardless of application or website. make the text size function available on the desktop. Drilling down through 3 menus to change it is kind of annoying.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems that Steve Jobs just might be sobbing tonight as the Amazon AppStore slips from his totalitarian grasp. In one of his many recent litigation attempts to stab Android with a wooden stake, it seems he came up empty handed.Today, Apple's preliminary injunction filed against Amazon for naming the Android AppStore was denied in court. I guess Mr.Jobs doesn't own everything he thinks about or writes on a napkin. Here is the press release today:"The court finds that Apple has not established a likelihood of success on its dilution claim. First, Apple has not established that its "App Store" mark is famous, in the sense of being "prominent" and "renowned." The evidence does show that Apple has spent a great deal of money on advertising and publicity, and has sold/provided/furnished a large number of apps from its AppStore, and the evidence also reflects actual recognition of the "App Store" mark. However, there is also evidence that the term "app store" is used by other companies as a descriptive term for a place to obtain software applications for mobile devices."

So fine, I'll re-copy them from my PC to the SD card. But what about when my Google Music syncs, is it going to copy the Music to SD card with the other copied music? or still in internal memory? What about camera pictures and movies? Can you set it to save on the SD card? It take it apps cannot be 'moved to media area' either?onder when Google is going to fix these restrictions to their file system. 10 months later after release of Honeycomb seems a bit long to fix a basic file system function.

However when I connect it, the device isnt recognised.
I cant switch the phone off or on, all thats happening is a continuous loop of red light and then the error message (it's on charge at the moment)....

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm not sure if this a black and white yes/no question, but i'm trying to understand how the xoom handles switching between programs. for example, if i'm buffering a video clip on Internet, it appears that i cannot switch to any other program without interrupting the buffering. however, with certain games, i can switch to another program (email for example) and back to the game without loosing my place. are there certain rules that the xoom uses for switching between programs? does it perform differently between using the home icon versus the quick launch icons on the task bar? is multitasking function specific - meaning wifi or 3g/4g is always interrupted? is it program specific?
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have tried to install newly updated/created apps on my ICS XOOM WiFi from Tivo and from AMC Theaters. Both apps tell me the same thing when I go into google play, and also when I use a direct download QR Barcode. I get a message saying that my device isn't compatible with this version of the software. Could this possibly be becuase the apps are not tolerant of ICS yet? I figured that since the apps were newly released/updated, that they would be compatible with the latest.
