i was trying to reinstall my phone firmware using nokia suite but after backup my pc crashed and a blue screen comes up it was a kernel security check failure. I am using windows 8 release preview any solution for this problem

The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted. I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same. My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.

For some weeks now im getting "installation fails" message when trying to install some of the software from OVI or from downloaded files. For example, Nokia Sleeping Screen. It downloads and the Ovi bar says "installing" then a smaller window appear in the lower section of the screen saying "preparing installation" then "Installing" then after a few seconds "installation Failed. Some apps for example Spotify installs perfectly, but here the bottom window don't appear at all. I have made a full reset, problem remains. I did a 3 finger reset, problem remains.

The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.
I'd really be grateful to you if could help me out with this. I have got a locked Nokia N91. I went to a local mobile repair shop which claims to unlock branded phone. While it was being unlocked, the phone got some error for some unknown reason and now whenever I start my phone, all it says is ' phone start-up failed, contact the retailer' the repairer says the phone's IMEI is damaged which I have confirmed from various repair shops and would need some RPL file (which I haven't got any idea about) and since Nokia servers are down its not possible right now, he tells me to wait for a bit before the servers are up on the run again. I have no idea if its even true. All I want to know is Can My Phone really be Repaired? And if Yes whats the Criteria for doing so? And if i take my phone to Nokia repair shop. i've tried installing the updated ovi maps 3.04 several times now and each time i launch the app it will cause the screen to fade, then i get red, blue and green lines, then the phone reboots. i initially did the upgrade from 3.03, that version worked great, and as soon as it finished and i launched the app is crashed the phone. rebooted a few times and same thing, did a soft reset and same thing. then i completely wiped the phone, formatted the storage, hard reset, installed my must have apps like mfe, joikuspot premium, opera mobile, nimbuzz, facebook and Internet, then installed ovi maps............same thing. so now i'm going to do it all over again and install the maps first, then start installing apps one by one. i'm sure it's an incompatibility between ovi maps 3.04 and one of my apps. i'm not sure why though because 3.03 worked just fine with even more apps installed, and it's not like any of the apps i installed were betas. well after some additional testing i've narrowed the problem down to an incompatibility between ovi maps 3.04 and the current version of joikuspot premium downloaded from their website. i wiped the phone, installed the new version of ovi maps, and the app functioned as expected. i then downloaded and installed the current version of joikuspot premium directly from their website, registered it, launched it, then shut it down. then i tried launching ovi maps again. the application came up but after 5 to 10 seconds i got color streaks across the screen then the phone rebooted. i continued to do this each time i tried to launch the app. then i uninstalled joikuspot, rebooted, and launched ovi maps and it worked just fine. i then tried installing some of my other apps i use like opera mobile, mfe, nimbuzz. all those functioned just fine and ovi maps continued to work. i then reinstalled joikuspot, rebooted, registered, etc.... and ovi maps started crashing again. then again i uninstalled joikuspot, rebooted, and ovi maps started working again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just received my 808 replaced by Nokia for the 3G bug issue. Now I have been noticing that annoying Connection Failed connection unavailable message every few seconds. Turned the positioning methods OFF and the frequency of the error message goes away but it still pops up every few minutes. I did a hard reset, removed the memory card where most of my apps are installed and it still gives me that same error. Ordered a new SIM to see if that makes any difference - none - Still same error message. That message is so annoying. Anyone have any other ideas that I could try ? Privacy mode is OFF also.
