Nokia E52 :: Error When Installing OVI Maps?
Sep 1, 2010Today I decided to install the latest maps available in ovi suite.When I install them I get an error "disc C full", it wants me to remove files to make space available. The thing is, that I now have 20.9MB of free memory there, so I doubt that it can really be insufficient. I think it's rather a bug. I would normally deinstall previous version and install the new one, but since I need this navigation, I can't risk that after deinstalling old one new program won't install anyways.So, any suggestions on what to do? There's nothing left to remove from phone memory.

Jun 10, 2010Can anyone offer some advice that might allow me to re-install Ovi Maps on my N78. It was working fine until yesterday when I tried to install version 3.03 to get free drive and walk navigation. OK - I know the N78 is not listed as a supported device but I thought it was worth a crack.At the end of the day I have no functioning maps on the phone. I have downloaded the correct Ovi Maps 3.01 for my phone (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS) but when I try to run this (by double clicking file on PC with phone connected in PC Suite mode) it does not work. I get an error message on the phone to say the file is not supported and a message on the PC saying N78 does not support SIS files.My next attempt was to restore using Ovi Suite to a backup I did yesterday before I started to play with it. This has not worked.Any ideas? Do I need to try an earlier version of Nokia or Ovi maps? Phone is updated with latest software version 30.011.

May 23, 2010I'm constantly getting "certicicate error. Please contact application supplier" when trying to install Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E63. I tried the following: # set date to 2008 # set software installation settings to "all" # set online certificate check to "off" All this didn't help. Does any one have any idea what can be done about this? tried to find out what firmware is installed but didn't figure out how to find this info. But there should be a way to install Nokia maps here.

Apr 18, 2010I tried to install Ovi maps 3.03 but during the installation, it says there's not enough memory and it asks me to delete something from the C:. But I didn't really put much in C: and I don't know what I can delete without affecting the system.So, when I open "Maps" now, the old version still pops out (it says 3.01 when I click into "About"),but apparently the installer in the PC suite thinks I have 3.03 already.What should I do?

Feb 23, 2012I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted. I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same. My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.

Nov 29, 2011The latest Nokia Maps update refuses to install either via Nokia Suite or OTA (version 3.8.105) but simply says that something went wrong/isntall failed and doesn't even report an error code. I installed another update for the phone 1 week or so ago and Maps wouldn't connect to a GPS-satellite and thus was unable to navigate but this seems to have corrected itself with the reset. I've tried soft resetting and returning the phone to factory settings but the update still refuses to download and install.

Jan 23, 2010I am trying to download MAPS 3.0 onto my N900 via Nokia PC Suite. The instructions tell me to connect my phone via USB in Mass Storage Mode but MAPS 3.0 tells me to connect it in PC Suite mode. When I do this, I get a flashing message saying 'waiting for phone'.
I've tried connecting in both mass storage and PC Suite but the flashing message remains and I am getting frustrated as this is supposed to be easy to complete!
Nokia :: N97 Mini Not Starting Up After Installing OVI Maps
Jan 29, 2010A colleague who owns the N97 mini has just installed maps, and after rebooting his phone, it won't start it displays the white 'NOKIA' screen for approx 1 minute before switching off (it's fully charged). No key presses etc help, we can't get past the nokia screen.
He then asked me to reboot my N97 (not mini) and sure enough have the same issue, however after several attempts at switching on, I've managed to get mine to start, by seemingly pressing random buttons. I've tried this a few times now, and by repeatedly pressing right on the D pad, enter, and the camera button, my phone starts OK.
I only received my phone back from repair yesterday, and it was freshly flashed with the latest '3' firmware (my colleagues N97 mini is a virgin branded phone), and OVI maps was a suggested update yesterday nothing else has been installed on my phone since that.

Apr 27, 2010About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?
Nokia :: N97 - Ovi Maps Crashes On Installing Joikuspot And Phone Rebooted
Jun 12, 2010i've tried installing the updated ovi maps 3.04 several times now and each time i launch the app it will cause the screen to fade, then i get red, blue and green lines, then the phone reboots. i initially did the upgrade from 3.03, that version worked great, and as soon as it finished and i launched the app is crashed the phone. rebooted a few times and same thing, did a soft reset and same thing. then i completely wiped the phone, formatted the storage, hard reset, installed my must have apps like mfe, joikuspot premium, opera mobile, nimbuzz, facebook and Internet, then installed ovi maps............same thing. so now i'm going to do it all over again and install the maps first, then start installing apps one by one. i'm sure it's an incompatibility between ovi maps 3.04 and one of my apps. i'm not sure why though because 3.03 worked just fine with even more apps installed, and it's not like any of the apps i installed were betas. well after some additional testing i've narrowed the problem down to an incompatibility between ovi maps 3.04 and the current version of joikuspot premium downloaded from their website. i wiped the phone, installed the new version of ovi maps, and the app functioned as expected. i then downloaded and installed the current version of joikuspot premium directly from their website, registered it, launched it, then shut it down. then i tried launching ovi maps again. the application came up but after 5 to 10 seconds i got color streaks across the screen then the phone rebooted. i continued to do this each time i tried to launch the app. then i uninstalled joikuspot, rebooted, and launched ovi maps and it worked just fine. i then tried installing some of my other apps i use like opera mobile, mfe, nimbuzz. all those functioned just fine and ovi maps continued to work. i then reinstalled joikuspot, rebooted, registered, etc.... and ovi maps started crashing again. then again i uninstalled joikuspot, rebooted, and ovi maps started working again.

Nov 3, 2011I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
