Nokia Nseries :: N8 System Error When Installing Apps?
Aug 19, 2011i'm continously getting a 'system error' message whenever i try to install some apps, such as nokia battery monitor, Internet downloader and fmobi. this occurence only began recently after updating to symbian anna. i've installed many other apps and can still install other apps but i seem to have a problem with a select few. i have attempted to uninstall and reinstall the apps and also done a delete and restore after backup but still no change.

Apr 13, 2010I downloaded a couple of apps from Sony Ericsson's web site including a game that I used to play on my Sony Ericsson Z520a phone previoulsy, called "Quadrapop." It's a free Java application, and there was a version specific to the Satio, which is also an S60 5 edition phone, just like the 5800 which I am trying to install on.
When I try installing it, I get a message, "Certificate error" followed by something to the effect of, "contact supplier" I have been able to install some other Satio Java apps on my 5800, but not Quadrapop. Is there anything I can do do get around this issue?

Jun 4, 2011whenever i download and install applications from ovistore it doesn't continue and ends up as error. and when i tried to sync again my phone to nokia acount (the one where nokia sends link to your phone to sync it) i never receive the message. the instruction in the manual syncing doesn't seem so helpful as i can't find the "To create the profile, select "Menu", then "Connect", then "Sync" part.

Sep 1, 2010Today I decided to install the latest maps available in ovi suite.When I install them I get an error "disc C full", it wants me to remove files to make space available. The thing is, that I now have 20.9MB of free memory there, so I doubt that it can really be insufficient. I think it's rather a bug. I would normally deinstall previous version and install the new one, but since I need this navigation, I can't risk that after deinstalling old one new program won't install anyways.So, any suggestions on what to do? There's nothing left to remove from phone memory.

Jun 10, 2010Can anyone offer some advice that might allow me to re-install Ovi Maps on my N78. It was working fine until yesterday when I tried to install version 3.03 to get free drive and walk navigation. OK - I know the N78 is not listed as a supported device but I thought it was worth a crack.At the end of the day I have no functioning maps on the phone. I have downloaded the correct Ovi Maps 3.01 for my phone (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS) but when I try to run this (by double clicking file on PC with phone connected in PC Suite mode) it does not work. I get an error message on the phone to say the file is not supported and a message on the PC saying N78 does not support SIS files.My next attempt was to restore using Ovi Suite to a backup I did yesterday before I started to play with it. This has not worked.Any ideas? Do I need to try an earlier version of Nokia or Ovi maps? Phone is updated with latest software version 30.011.

Jan 25, 2012i am unable to install many Qt apps from the nokia store. When ever i try to install Qt apps on my phone, it ask me for installing the package but the installation stops during ' preparing installation' and does not go through ' finalising installation'. After this i does find the nokia smart installer icon but when i click on it, it says ' no installation pending'. I can also find the application in application manager but can't find its icon anywhere. Some Qt apps does install properly but many including wellness diary, nokia drop, etc doesn't install. My device is Nokia X6 16 GB and i have latest firmware and all Qt components installed on my device.

I tried the following: # set date to 2008 # set software installation settings to "all" # set online certificate check to "off" All this didn't help. Apr 18, 2010I tried to install Ovi maps 3.03 but during the installation, it says there's not enough memory and it asks me to delete something from the C:. But I didn't really put much in C: and I don't know what I can delete without affecting the system.So, when I open "Maps" now, the old version still pops out (it says 3.01 when I click into "About"),but apparently the installer in the PC suite thinks I have 3.03 already.What should I do?

My phone restore was only SMS and contacts.Then I tried installing the Microsoft apps again and after the installer file downloads , it ask me if it can download a 21 MB file , so I press yes and then it says " the connection was lost , canceling the installation "I am sure my network connections are OK, all the other applications download and install perfectly and I have tried it over 3G and Wifi. To be sure I did factory reset and it did not work.even when it creates an icon for smart installer , the same thing happens.

Ovi Suite and Pc Suite doesn't offer me any update. I'm desesperate (I've past a few days looking in google without solutions (for example changing the date of the phone, or configurate the application manager (all, no control online of the certificates,...) Nothing nothing... I'm thinking about flashing it with an updated software, ultimate action of a desperate man. it's strange that a mobile "updated" can't install a program from Ovi Suite.

Feb 23, 2012I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted. I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same. My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.

Mar 17, 2012Yesterday night I was trying to install Nokia Belle on my C7 through Nokia suite. However, in between the installation process, my Nokia C7 went black and the installation could not be completed.
Since then my phone is blank. Now, when I hold the power button, the phone vibrates but does not start. The white charging light on the top blinks for sometime and then stops and nothing happens.
I believe it is a software problem as the phone is not starting even after charging my battery thru an external charger.
The original software was Symbian O3. Can I do a hardware reset? I can live if the phone data is lost.
