Aug 13, 2010I have tried in excess of 10 times to install Nokia Ovi Suite on my PC.I have visited this site and tried all of the suggestions, removing existing software, restarting, redownloading the newest version of NOS and installing to no avail.The error message I get every time is:

Apr 8, 2011I get the message "can't install as you don't have enough space on C:" All my apps that gave me an option are installed on E: so I have none to delete from C:. I tried to delete Maps 3.06 and it appeared to be deleted in the App Manager but it still seems to be there and working. I have cleared all the web browser cache.

Problem: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) occurs constantly.
I think the problem is the phone drivers (via cable). The program itself shouldn't be it.I made a system recovery, which worked. And my computer was restored. But when I tried once again the same problem occurred.
How can I use the phone with the computer without getting the BSOD?
Nokia :: N97 - Ovi Suite Connection Possible With Windows 7?
Jan 23, 2010I have N97, firmware version 20.0.019 (t mobile - **bleep** with the old firmware updates.... )
I am running windoze 7 with all updates etc. I have the latest version of nokia Ovi Suite and the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. I am reluctantly trying to get used to using ovi suite instead of PC ever since Nokia's update page seemed to suggest I should be using OVi suite with this phone.
Anyway bluetooth connection is working fine. I can do all syncs with everything on bluetooth. USB connection is not, when the phone is connected, and I select PC Suite on the phone, the phone and PC then get stuck in a sort of loop where the PC is "installing drivers" and the phone keeps asking me to select PC Suite mode. Occasionally I get an error message saying I am stuck in file transfer mode.
I have also tried this after going into settings and setting USB connection mode to PC SUITE only, with Don't Ask selected.
This is profoundly frustrating and also renders the ability to update phone software totally useless because you cannot update via bluetooth, only USB connection.
I am getting mighty peeved off with Nokia's ability to get firmware, and software products right. Come on guys, hire some decent developers, and/or start responding to feedback from customers like me. (I'd happily beta test any software, I've done it before for an online game......!!!!)
I am considering selling my N97 online, and just buying an unlocked HTC HD2 after over a decade of using Nokia phones.

Nokia :: Ovi Suite Installer Hangs On Windows XP SP3
Jun 28, 2010I'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs.
Nokia :: Ovi Suite Slow As Hell On Windows 7
May 19, 2010After a long time of not using Ovi suite, I downloaded yesterday the newest version from the Ovi suite.
When I ran the installer, it said that I'm installing the newest version, but after installing and running ovi suite, I get a message that a newer version was found(even though I was on 2.1.1.1) and that it wants to update to it. Fine, I said, updated. Version stayed 2.1.1.1.
After that, I connected my phone, a 5800. This was nightmare. Ovi started syncing, and got stuck on syncing photos. It took me about 20 to CANCEL the photos syncing.
Afterwards, I started backing up my phone. This went OK through out the entire process, except the ending - Ovi got stuck and had to be closed.
After closing Ovi, I noticed a process, Nokiamserver, that was eating my disk with reading. It kept reading and reading and reading. I eventually had to close it because I just could not work with that process reading so much from the disk.
The overall Ovi interface is very slow as well. Everything takes its time to load, everything moves slowly. I was quite disappointed with that.
Nokia - can you make a good syncing program that will really compete with iTunes? That will work good and fast?

Feb 5, 2010I've trawled through quite a few posts and I'm struggling to find the answer to my current issue with PC Suite, Ovi Suite & Windows 7.
PC Suite Version - 7.1.40.6 (Downloaded from Website 4/2/10 UK Formated Date)
Windows - Win 7 32 Bit (Upgraded from Vista)
Ovi Suite - 2.0.2.42
Connectivity - Via USB Cable
5800xm Version - 31.0.101 - RM356
Previously I used Windows Vista with my Sony Vaio Laptop without any issues. However Sony sent me some Windows 7 Upgrade Discs and of course I upgraded without looking into issues as I was sure that Nokia Software would be 7 Compatible, guessing i was wrong. Neither of the 2 applications can connect with my Phone since upgrading to Windows 7.
Both just sit there on the Connectivity Screen and eventually inform me that they cannot connect to the device or no device present. Inside my Device Manager i have several errors which are obviously causing my error. The following Names are displayed as NOT INSTALLED.

I've removed and re-installed both Ovi Suite and PC Suite and still the drivers dont appear. I've tried to remove and reinstall the devices via Device Manager, but Windows still reports the devices as NO Drivers. Where can i get these drivers from so PC Suite / Ovi can connect to my Device? Nokia Ovi Player works and transfers music with no problems, so the Cable is fine

Mar 10, 2010I have a trusty 6600 (that neither slides nor folds!) but find that I can't use the normal PC Suite that is Win7 compatible; I must use a device-specific version. However, the device specific version doesn't support Windows 7. So I am stuck. Is there a workaround to either force the device-specific version to work on Win7 of get the 6600 to work with the normal PC Suite?

Mar 10, 2012i am not able to connect my N8 to OVI Suite since I installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview operating system. My USB port is working fine as I am able to charge and connect in media transfer mode. It just doesn't work when the OVI suite mode is enabled.how I can work around this please. I use OVI suite a lot as I do most of my messaging through the PC. When will Nokia release a new edition of the OVI Suite that will work well with Windows 8. On once occasion, I was able to reinstall OVI suite by right clicking and selecting Windows 7 in compatibility settings and by running the program as administrator. However, even that doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Sep 1, 2010Today I decided to install the latest maps available in ovi suite.When I install them I get an error "disc C full", it wants me to remove files to make space available. The thing is, that I now have 20.9MB of free memory there, so I doubt that it can really be insufficient. I think it's rather a bug. I would normally deinstall previous version and install the new one, but since I need this navigation, I can't risk that after deinstalling old one new program won't install anyways.So, any suggestions on what to do? There's nothing left to remove from phone memory.

Jun 10, 2010Can anyone offer some advice that might allow me to re-install Ovi Maps on my N78. It was working fine until yesterday when I tried to install version 3.03 to get free drive and walk navigation. OK - I know the N78 is not listed as a supported device but I thought it was worth a crack.At the end of the day I have no functioning maps on the phone. I have downloaded the correct Ovi Maps 3.01 for my phone (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS) but when I try to run this (by double clicking file on PC with phone connected in PC Suite mode) it does not work. I get an error message on the phone to say the file is not supported and a message on the PC saying N78 does not support SIS files.My next attempt was to restore using Ovi Suite to a backup I did yesterday before I started to play with it. This has not worked.Any ideas? Do I need to try an earlier version of Nokia or Ovi maps? Phone is updated with latest software version 30.011.

But I didn't really put much in C: and I don't know what I can delete without affecting the system.So, when I open "Maps" now, the old version still pops out (it says 3.01 when I click into "About"),but apparently the installer in the PC suite thinks I have 3.03 already.What should I do?

Jun 20, 2010I am not able to sign into Ovi, from the Nokia Ovi Suite. Every time I try doing that it would tell make sure the internet connection is working properly and try again(see attachment). This is ridiculous, I am always connected to the internet using wifi.

Nokia :: Ovi Suite Closes Without Any Error
Apr 30, 2010I have an X6 and have installed ovi suite. It has worked fine for a couple of weeks and I have been able to succesfully transfer media such as pictures and music.
Now when I click to start up ovi suite it loads the first white page then closes without any error messages. The OVI icon on the bottom right taskbar disapears when I hover the mouse over it. It will not start. I'm getting really sick of this phone and the software.
Does anyone know why this problem is occuring? Every other device I connect regularly (such as ipod, sony ericsson and 2 external HDDs have not suddenly stopped working) so why has this cheapo Nokia suddenly become incompatible?
