I have Nokia E71 and I'm trying to download maps on my phone, but everytime when I'm trying to do it there is "preparing to download" and after there is always information that connection time is to long. I have newest version of programs on PC and application on phone. Do u have any idea how to solve that.
View 7 RepliesI was not able to download Nokia OVI Suite since Friday (12march10). Result was always the same: stop at 99%. I've tried different browsers with no success. Seems like sum hashes doesn't match. Meanwhile I've downloaded many other files from other sites without problem. I don`t believe the problem is in my comp. I use Windows7 enterprise and I have high speed internet connection (20Mb).

But a few days ago, i was updating Kuwaiti map and voice guidance via Nokia suite and I lost both the msp snd the voice guidance. I tried to download them through Nokia suite but with no success. The following message is always shown:Couldn't connect to the service. There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use Ovi Suite's own software updating feature, it can't download the update completely but after 16M/16M informs me about server/firewall problems. I alternatively tried to use my web browser with star downloader and after downloading everything it tries to catch file info from Nokia but then the connection is dropped. I had the same problem with PC Suite, so problem is probably how my computer and Nokia support site discuss together. But is the solution (as Nokia support QA suggest) to drop your virus software and firewall down. For me that sounds quite strange. Any help?

After update I decided to update my Maps too. But during update it said " no internet connection" and stopped to update process. There were no internet connection loss at that time because I was surfing internet. I tried again. I M trying to connect iT through USB CABLE to PC.
I M using WINDOWS 7
But i cant connect it.iT Doesnt Respond.
When i connect the cable it asks for option & then i select PC-SUITE.
In the phone nothing gets displayed, not even a USB logo & phone is not connected through pc-SUITE.
But it connects very well through MASS STORAGE.
I've had my e72 since February, but I only just finally got around to downloading ovi suite on my PC. installation was fine, then it came to the part where it says to connect the phone, so I did that, but nothing happened. the thing on the PC said that I should select 'ovi suite' or 'PC suite' when it appears on the phone, but the home screen was blank. i've tried connecting it many times and still nothing. the phone lights up when i connect it to the computer, but it doesn't prompt me for the connection mode. i've checked the settings (currently on usb conn. mode: PC suite / ask on conn.: yes) but it's not asking me on connection, nor is there any indication on the ovi suite program that it is connected.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not able to sign into Ovi, from the Nokia Ovi Suite. Every time I try doing that it would tell make sure the internet connection is working properly and try again(see attachment). This is ridiculous, I am always connected to the internet using wifi.

I have an X6 and have installed ovi suite. It has worked fine for a couple of weeks and I have been able to succesfully transfer media such as pictures and music.
Now when I click to start up ovi suite it loads the first white page then closes without any error messages. The OVI icon on the bottom right taskbar disapears when I hover the mouse over it. It will not start. I'm getting really sick of this phone and the software.
Does anyone know why this problem is occuring? Every other device I connect regularly (such as ipod, sony ericsson and 2 external HDDs have not suddenly stopped working) so why has this cheapo Nokia suddenly become incompatible?
I installed connectivity cables and nokia pc suite, when I click on connect to phone in pc suite it comes up with usb not recognized and in screen box "unknown device".I have since found out via nokia forum that you now don't have to install connectivity cable driver as they are now in pc suite.Help appreciated.Also this is my first attempt at trying these installs so I may have gone wrong somewhere though I did follow all the instructions.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have done a hard reset on a nokia e66 with firmware 410. When I first connected to ovi suite the maps module showed me internal error. But it wasn't any server error or try again etc. The steps are the following:
1) Format memory card
2) Download ovi maps from nokia website.
3) Open the maps in the phone and accept all the messages
4) Connect to the ovi suite and open maps.
5) And then magically it will tell you that you need an update on the maps.
6) Now I am in this step which updating but I think it has stuck.
Shame on you nokia for all these problems for a business telephone such as e66. That's why apple is always a level ahead in its interface and is winning just from that. Simplicity just simplicity.

I want to downlaod the maps for my county to my mobile phone, and there start to come some problems.when i press maps on OVI suite, on the right side of the window i see the logo of the OVI maps and its in black/white and there is a text msg: "Internal Error" and Maps encountered a unknow error, try again later.So i did try but still the same, what is wrong, how to fix it? any help?

After a bit it's installing I always receive a generic 1622 error and the installer quits. Stopped the avast antivirus and tried reinstalling, still no success. The computer is an acer laptop with a centrino processor, 512mb ram and windows xp sp3.

I have tried in excess of 10 times to install Nokia Ovi Suite on my PC.I have visited this site and tried all of the suggestions, removing existing software, restarting, redownloading the newest version of NOS and installing to no avail.The error message I get every time is:

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my 5800 I was incredibly unimpressed with pretty much every aspect of it. Utter rubbish.I went online and checked out Nokia's Ovi store and there were about 3 apps there, none of which any good.
Thought I'd use Ovi again today. I couldn't remember what password I used so I went through the password retrival service on my phone. To do this you need to type in some letters displayed onscreen. Only the image doesn't work. On Nokia's phone, running Nokia's app, Nokia's password retrieval is impossible. This typifies everything about Nokia - unwieldy and clunky solutions that fail at every step. Nothing is straightforward or simple to use.
Finally logged on (after going on my PC). Logged on via my phone, went to download an App and "Cannot download due to an error".
On June calendar sync worked fine between my E55 and Outlook 97. After my summer vacation sync doesn't work.
Now I get always error message: "Reconnect the USB cable or connect via Bluetooth. Then senc again. Error code: 8004fced" I have tried with cable and BT. Already I have reinstalled Ovi Suite and I have flashed my E55 again but these didn't help. Sync working with contacts, messages and pictures.
