I just got a new 7020 phone which came with an usb cable but no applications disk. I downloaded the latest ovi pc suite and tried to install it. After a bit it's installing I always receive a generic 1622 error and the installer quits. Stopped the avast antivirus and tried reinstalling, still no success. The computer is an acer laptop with a centrino processor, 512mb ram and windows xp sp3.

I have been trying to connect my nokia n900 to my pc that runs windows 7. I am using usb cable that came with the phone. I get an error messege on the computer when using mass storage mode that says "failed to install device driver'. I downloaded PC suite and tried PC suite mode. I got an error message saying "your phone is in file transfer mode. quit file tranfer mode to proceed" how do I quit file transfer mode?

I am completely unable to install OVI suite. The installation hangs every time. I have tried several times. Firstly from the installer that shipped with the phone (this just hung - no message), then from the most up to date version downloaded from the website. With this latter I get a message saying "an error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.MC,processorArchitecture="x86",publictoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32". I have seen similar posts to this on the forum - most of which suggested uninstalling PC suite and then trying the install again. However, I have never had PC suite on this machine.
I wanted to have ebuddy messenger in my phone but whenever I try to install it, I usually get the message "error while reading suite info".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used Ovi Suite to upgrade my ovi maps to 3.03 a few weeks ago when I got the phone. I installed maps for a few US states as well. Yesterday I wanted to add maps for another state. Ovi tells me I don't have maps installed on my phone. Then it says it needs to upgrade Ovi suite so I do that. Then it says it wants to install ovi maps on my phone. Ok, fine. Turns out it's trying to install version 3.01 on my phone which of course I don't want to, assuming 3.03 is better than 3.01. So what gives here? It seems I can only install ovi maps using the Ovi Suite, right? I send an email to Nokia but perhaps someone here knows the answer.

When i connect the cable it asks for option & then i select PC-SUITE.
In the phone nothing gets displayed, not even a USB logo & phone is not connected through pc-SUITE.
But it connects very well through MASS STORAGE.
I've had my e72 since February, but I only just finally got around to downloading ovi suite on my PC. installation was fine, then it came to the part where it says to connect the phone, so I did that, but nothing happened. the thing on the PC said that I should select 'ovi suite' or 'PC suite' when it appears on the phone, but the home screen was blank. i've tried connecting it many times and still nothing. the phone lights up when i connect it to the computer, but it doesn't prompt me for the connection mode. i've checked the settings (currently on usb conn. mode: PC suite / ask on conn.: yes) but it's not asking me on connection, nor is there any indication on the ovi suite program that it is connected.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not able to sign into Ovi, from the Nokia Ovi Suite. Every time I try doing that it would tell make sure the internet connection is working properly and try again(see attachment). This is ridiculous, I am always connected to the internet using wifi.

I have an X6 and have installed ovi suite. It has worked fine for a couple of weeks and I have been able to succesfully transfer media such as pictures and music.
Now when I click to start up ovi suite it loads the first white page then closes without any error messages. The OVI icon on the bottom right taskbar disapears when I hover the mouse over it. It will not start. I'm getting really sick of this phone and the software.
Does anyone know why this problem is occuring? Every other device I connect regularly (such as ipod, sony ericsson and 2 external HDDs have not suddenly stopped working) so why has this cheapo Nokia suddenly become incompatible?
I installed connectivity cables and nokia pc suite, when I click on connect to phone in pc suite it comes up with usb not recognized and in screen box "unknown device".I have since found out via nokia forum that you now don't have to install connectivity cable driver as they are now in pc suite.Help appreciated.Also this is my first attempt at trying these installs so I may have gone wrong somewhere though I did follow all the instructions.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have done a hard reset on a nokia e66 with firmware 410. When I first connected to ovi suite the maps module showed me internal error. But it wasn't any server error or try again etc. The steps are the following:
1) Format memory card
2) Download ovi maps from nokia website.
3) Open the maps in the phone and accept all the messages
4) Connect to the ovi suite and open maps.
5) And then magically it will tell you that you need an update on the maps.
6) Now I am in this step which updating but I think it has stuck.
Shame on you nokia for all these problems for a business telephone such as e66. That's why apple is always a level ahead in its interface and is winning just from that. Simplicity just simplicity.

I want to downlaod the maps for my county to my mobile phone, and there start to come some problems.when i press maps on OVI suite, on the right side of the window i see the logo of the OVI maps and its in black/white and there is a text msg: "Internal Error" and Maps encountered a unknow error, try again later.So i did try but still the same, what is wrong, how to fix it? any help?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

Now I get always error message: "Reconnect the USB cable or connect via Bluetooth. Then senc again. Error code: 8004fced" I have tried with cable and BT. Already I have reinstalled Ovi Suite and I have flashed my E55 again but these didn't help. Sync working with contacts, messages and pictures.
I am having problems syncing a Nokia E71 with a PC running Vista.The two sync just fine via USB cable.And I appear to have successfully paired them via Bluetooth.However, when I try to sync over Bluetooth, I get
- two requests on the E71 to accept a connection from the PC - both of which I accept
- a long wait - around 2-3 minutes
- another request on the E71 to accept a connection from the PC, which I also accept
- another 1-2 minute wait
- a message appearing on the PC saying "The connection between the PC and the phone failed, error code 0x80044403.I can get both the PC and the E71 to transfer files with other devices over Bluetooth.And I can see the E71 as a Bluetooth device from Windows Explorer on the PC. Though when I double-click on it, I can't browse the content.The PC is running Vista Service Pack 1.The Bluetooth hardware is an HP integrated modeul with Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless, manufactured by Broadcom.The Driver date is 19/06/2007 and the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator.The E71 is running the -400 firmware, freshly updated.
