I was not able to download Nokia OVI Suite since Friday (12march10). Result was always the same: stop at 99%. I've tried different browsers with no success. Seems like sum hashes doesn't match. Meanwhile I've downloaded many other files from other sites without problem. I don`t believe the problem is in my comp. I use Windows7 enterprise and I have high speed internet connection (20Mb).
View 7 RepliesI have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here. When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore?

everything was working fine until I updated the Ovi Suite to v 2.1.1.245 then phone wouldnt sync anymore. I restore the computer back to the date before the Ovi suite was updated taking it back to v 2.1.1.1. now the phone still wil not sync. any ideas ? (Im syncing with the usb cable). I often get a messege telling me to set my phone to "set my phones usb mode to ovi suite or PC Suite" which I do of course but no success just fails to sync evrytime now. wish I had nevver tryed to update the ovi software now.
I have been trying to connect with Nokia PC suite but as I plug the N900 and select PC suite mode, windows xp asks for drivers for new found device.Reinstalling PC Suite didn't help.I used to have a N95 ... could this be interfering in some obscure way ? Reading Nokia web pages let me think drivers are included with the Nokia PC Suite.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a nokia N8 and have unlimited music dowloads from Ovi Music for six months with my package. For the past week or so I have been downloading music onto my phone using my home WAN conection. And onto my laptop using my home WAN connection. I also download onto the same laptop using my LAN at work. For the past 3 days now, however, I am unable to download any songs or albums from Ovi Music unless I use the data package on my phone (3G / GPRS).
If I use the WAN or LAN (phone or laptop) I get the error message "download failed - failed to access server". I've changed nothing in my settings - nothing at all. I don't have a problem accessing the internet on my cellphone using the WAN connection, however. It just seems to be a problem with Ovi suddenly. Because I don't want to use my data package to download music and software - It's more economical using the WAN or LAN.
I purchased a Nokia 610 today and am trying to download the UK maps in Nokia Drive. Have setup WiFi. Select the UK (All) map to download.At random points throughout the download process the app crashes and returns me back to the start screen.
I have removed and reinstalled the app with no change.
i have paid for 'Advanced Call Manager' and got my receipt by mail. the download page opened instantly but not downloaded at all even in 30minutes. 'mystaff' area does not show this item. my purchase history shows this.

I alternatively tried to use my web browser with star downloader and after downloading everything it tries to catch file info from Nokia but then the connection is dropped. I had the same problem with PC Suite, so problem is probably how my computer and Nokia support site discuss together. But is the solution (as Nokia support QA suggest) to drop your virus software and firewall down. For me that sounds quite strange. Any help?

I am trying to update my bosses iPhone 5 to iOS8 8.1.2, but after waiting for several hours, the download fails. The phone is currently running iOS 6 I believe (I'm not sure of the exact version). The download is 1.5GB in size and the available memory left on the phone is in excess of 12GB. The download has been attempted over two different Wifi networks but no luck?!?! It simply will not update. He is currently no worse off at the moment with all existing data still intact.Â

A week ago I installed IOS5.1 on my mothers iPhone 4 through her iMac and iTunes account. I thought everything went well, but unfortunately, while her contacts are still in her contactlist, when she tries to use a contact and clicks it, the contactlist disappears and she's send back to the mainscreen of her iPhone. I've tried to synchronize the contacts again and even restored her iPhone through iTunes, but after both attempts I received the same error: "Synchronizing isn't possible because your iPhone uses the contactlist. Close it in your Contact settings and try again." But when I try to open 'Settings>E-mail, contacts, agenda' it closes immediately and I'm send back to the mainscreen of the iPhone again..

I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
I have a blackberry 9700 with BIS which I've just upgraded the software from OS5 to OS6, I'm having a problem opening and downloading any music and videos from the internet, I can browse through perfect but when I try to save it takes forever to download 1 percent and then says failed, I previously had this problem with the OS5 software as well, it used to work fine when I first got the phone but recently started failing to download so I upgraded to OS6 and the problem is still the same, there is nothing wrong with my memory card as I've tried with another memory card and the problem still continues.

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this??
