Dec 11, 2014I am trying to update my bosses iPhone 5 to iOS8 8.1.2, but after waiting for several hours, the download fails. The phone is currently running iOS 6 I believe (I'm not sure of the exact version). The download is 1.5GB in size and the available memory left on the phone is in excess of 12GB. The download has been attempted over two different Wifi networks but no luck?!?! It simply will not update. He is currently no worse off at the moment with all existing data still intact.Â

Apr 19, 2012A week ago I installed IOS5.1 on my mothers iPhone 4 through her iMac and iTunes account. I thought everything went well, but unfortunately, while her contacts are still in her contactlist, when she tries to use a contact and clicks it, the contactlist disappears and she's send back to the mainscreen of her iPhone. I've tried to synchronize the contacts again and even restored her iPhone through iTunes, but after both attempts I received the same error: "Synchronizing isn't possible because your iPhone uses the contactlist. Close it in your Contact settings and try again." But when I try to open 'Settings>E-mail, contacts, agenda' it closes immediately and I'm send back to the mainscreen of the iPhone again..

Mar 16, 2010I was not able to download Nokia OVI Suite since Friday (12march10). Result was always the same: stop at 99%. I've tried different browsers with no success. Seems like sum hashes doesn't match. Meanwhile I've downloaded many other files from other sites without problem. I don`t believe the problem is in my comp. I use Windows7 enterprise and I have high speed internet connection (20Mb).

Feb 28, 2011I've just gotten a nokia N8 and have unlimited music dowloads from Ovi Music for six months with my package. For the past week or so I have been downloading music onto my phone using my home WAN conection. And onto my laptop using my home WAN connection. I also download onto the same laptop using my LAN at work. For the past 3 days now, however, I am unable to download any songs or albums from Ovi Music unless I use the data package on my phone (3G / GPRS).
If I use the WAN or LAN (phone or laptop) I get the error message "download failed - failed to access server". I've changed nothing in my settings - nothing at all. I don't have a problem accessing the internet on my cellphone using the WAN connection, however. It just seems to be a problem with Ovi suddenly. Because I don't want to use my data package to download music and software - It's more economical using the WAN or LAN.

Dec 13, 2012I purchased a Nokia 610 today and am trying to download the UK maps in Nokia Drive. Have setup WiFi. Select the UK (All) map to download.At random points throughout the download process the app crashes and returns me back to the start screen.
I have removed and reinstalled the app with no change.

Nov 15, 2012I have a blackberry 9700 with BIS which I've just upgraded the software from OS5 to OS6, I'm having a problem opening and downloading any music and videos from the internet, I can browse through perfect but when I try to save it takes forever to download 1 percent and then says failed, I previously had this problem with the OS5 software as well, it used to work fine when I first got the phone but recently started failing to download so I upgraded to OS6 and the problem is still the same, there is nothing wrong with my memory card as I've tried with another memory card and the problem still continues.

Every time I attempt to sync my iPhone, it starts with, in the bar at the top, with Backing Up *Name*'s iPhone, then Syncing Contacts, Syncing Applications, then switches to a generic "Syncing *Name*'s iPhone" message- then it simply stops as if it had been cancelled.
I've tried this several times, to no avail. Any changes I make to Applications or Contacts ARE changed, but it never changes Music, Ringtones, Videos, etc etc.

May 7, 2012Upgrading iPhone to iOS 5.1.1. Process hangs with progress bar on iPhone (showing Apple logo) about 1/5 of the way complete for over an hour.
After several attempts to restart the process, Force Quit iTunes, restart it, restart iPhone and plug in. This time iTunes says "Restoring software". This appears to work until progress bar on iPhone is about 3/4 full, then it hangs again. (No, it wasn't jailbroken, contained only apps bought from iTunes store, etc.)
There are three other such complaints buried under the unlikely discussion topicHT5278 if the update fails and phone freezes what should I do Is it significant that 5.1.1 is not in the list of operating systems below?

Apr 24, 2012I have an iPhone 4 and am running iOS 5.1. I use Microsoft's Exchange as my email server/ISP. I receive all my emails on the Exchange server, and they properly download to my MS Outlook 2010 when I open Outlook on my Dell XPS running Windows 7 and a 64-bit OS.
But I do not receive all my emails on my iPhone, and this is a problem. Question: How can I make my iPhone receive ALL of my emails?
Prior to my use of Microsoft Exchange I used Earthlink as my email server/ISP, and I had similar issues; that is, some emails were not received on my iPhone, but were received on Earthlink, and were downloaded to an earlier version of Outlook on the same PC.

May 22, 2012I have a different problem than I've seen here, all of the BT posts seem to be about difficulty pairing or having a phone and a BT device auto-connect.
My issue is that after connection... even after making calls successfully... my phone and my car will to stop communicating. Both devices continue to indicate they are still paired... but calls do not come in through the car, nor can the calls be initiated through the car's controls. Thusly, the stereo remains on (sometimes loudly) and I miss calls when the phone rings. The connection is gone, even though both devices never reported loosing it. This happens about 30% of the time when I'm in my car more than 15 minutes or so.
I have a 4S running iOS 5.1... this is my third iPhone and my last. It is the 2nd iPhone I've used in this car... a 2011 VW CC. I've also had no issues with other BT 4.0 phones, a blackberry and a samsung.
Additionally the genious bar has replaced my phone once already, even though they couldn't find any hardware issues. Subsequently they did a complete reset on the replacement, again finding no hardware issues. It was then set up as a new phone, and not restored from a backup. Volkswagen has tested the car's BT unit against their test iPhone 4 with no issues, even after leaving it connected for the duration of a 20k service.

Sep 4, 2014I'm having lately an issue with sending plain sms (not iMessages). A few days after restart of my iPhone it stops to sent sms. I got red exclamation mark next to my message and it says my sms wasn't sent. When I try to re-send it doesn't work.Â
Only solution is to switch off and switch on the phone and then resend the sms - after restart it works.

Aug 8, 2010I have just upgraded the firmware and have lost everything that was on my phone. I have tried to restore from back up but keeps coming up with "itunes could not restore the iphone "#######" because the back up session failed.
The back up was done just couple minutes before i upgraded and i have also tried previous back ups but none of them work.
Is there going to be a way to get the back up working?
