Dec 11, 2014I am trying to update my bosses iPhone 5 to iOS8 8.1.2, but after waiting for several hours, the download fails. The phone is currently running iOS 6 I believe (I'm not sure of the exact version). The download is 1.5GB in size and the available memory left on the phone is in excess of 12GB. The download has been attempted over two different Wifi networks but no luck?!?! It simply will not update. He is currently no worse off at the moment with all existing data still intact.Â

Mar 23, 2012i recently bought an iphone 4 16gb from a friend, and installed the IOS 5.0.1 update which changed the baseband to 4.11.08. I now wish to update to 5.1 but my iphone finds an error half way through the download, and if i download the firmware manually and hold shift then hit restore, it doesn't find the firmware file i have downloaded. If i try and check for updates / restore on itunes, it fails to download half way through too. Could this be anything to do with the phone?

May 30, 2012Since I have updated my iPhone 4 to IOS 5.1.1 last week, my ATT 3G wireless service (internet,apps,etc) keeps crashing. I can turn on airplane mode and back off and it will work for a few minutes, then it stops working again. I have not hit the throttled 3G service (im unlimited and have only used 322mb so far). Voice works fine.
Also, my battery, which used to work fine all day, now has to be recharged before the end of the day. I have restored the phone yesterday, no changes. This all started after the update.

BB Bold :: 9900 WiFi Immediately Turns Off - Network Scanning Attempt Fails
Mar 31, 2010Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.

May 7, 2012Upgrading iPhone to iOS 5.1.1. Process hangs with progress bar on iPhone (showing Apple logo) about 1/5 of the way complete for over an hour.
After several attempts to restart the process, Force Quit iTunes, restart it, restart iPhone and plug in. This time iTunes says "Restoring software". This appears to work until progress bar on iPhone is about 3/4 full, then it hangs again. (No, it wasn't jailbroken, contained only apps bought from iTunes store, etc.)
There are three other such complaints buried under the unlikely discussion topicHT5278 if the update fails and phone freezes what should I do Is it significant that 5.1.1 is not in the list of operating systems below?
