They pair, but the phone insists my PC is an Audio Device ("Connect to audio device" on the menu). The PC responds somewhat strange - "Bluetooth Hands-Free device E52 Establishing Connection"...which FAILS - "Unable to establish Bluetooth connection" on the E52. So my PC also believes the E52 is a hands-free device. Apparently.Discovery of services on the E52 yields Data Transfer, Dial-Up Networking, Headset Audio Gateway, OBEX File Transfer+Object Push I recently replaced my original E52 with a new one and the first phone paired well and I could at least be on-line with text messages, calendar and contacts, although sometimes they would not connect automatically or the connection would be broken.This one's a mess.

Aug 12, 2014Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.
Nokia :: 5800 Bluetooth Connection - Finds The Car Audio Receiver But Fails To Pair
Aug 15, 2010I have 5800 with version 40. When I go to establish a Bluetooth connection between the phone and my car stereo with BT, the phone finds the car audio receiver but fails to pair .
In the phone help section , it say I need to first assign a pin code to the phone and then enter the same number on the radio receiver and then start pairing .
I have looked all over and can not find any menu on my phone that let me input any pin number . I have tried numbers like 12345 and 1234 on the radio receiver but failed .
Does any one knows how to input the pin number . This apparently is not the Sim number .
This is a number we are supposed to come up with and input in both devices
IPhone :: 4S Bluetooth Fails After Pairing?
May 22, 2012I have a different problem than I've seen here, all of the BT posts seem to be about difficulty pairing or having a phone and a BT device auto-connect.
My issue is that after connection... even after making calls successfully... my phone and my car will to stop communicating. Both devices continue to indicate they are still paired... but calls do not come in through the car, nor can the calls be initiated through the car's controls. Thusly, the stereo remains on (sometimes loudly) and I miss calls when the phone rings. The connection is gone, even though both devices never reported loosing it. This happens about 30% of the time when I'm in my car more than 15 minutes or so.
I have a 4S running iOS 5.1... this is my third iPhone and my last. It is the 2nd iPhone I've used in this car... a 2011 VW CC. I've also had no issues with other BT 4.0 phones, a blackberry and a samsung.
Additionally the genious bar has replaced my phone once already, even though they couldn't find any hardware issues. Subsequently they did a complete reset on the replacement, again finding no hardware issues. It was then set up as a new phone, and not restored from a backup. Volkswagen has tested the car's BT unit against their test iPhone 4 with no issues, even after leaving it connected for the duration of a 20k service.

Nokia :: Connection Fails Between N97 Mini And Ovi Suite
Jul 15, 2010I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here. When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore?

This works very good, except that even though I have ES set to keep the connection open upon exit, the connection fails if I exit ES. The icon on the home screen actually shows connected, but it isn't until I launch ES again. I reinstalled the app but it won't do it.

Dec 28, 2011I just bough the Torch 9860 and already replaced another one for the same problem, and since this second have the same problem, I think it is a general problem. Well the thing is that while the phone is in 3G coverage, it sometimes goes to like a "blocked" state. By this, I mean that the phone states as connected to the network and with full signal, but call wouldn't go out nor in, data is also not available, and the most important thing is that the phone doesn't show any signs of disconnection nor anything problem alike. Up until now, I have only seen this happening while in 3G coverage, and when this problem occurs, I switch the phone to 2G only and starts working fine again.

Jul 18, 2012I'm trying without success to connect my brand new Xperia Mini/PRO to my existing Google account via a WIFI communication to my router. I first configured the WIFI connection on both the router and the phone (IP address, MAC address, WPA-PSK key).This being done, the phone actually automatically connects to my WIFI router when it is located within the router's emission range. I checked on the home page of the router that the phone is actually mentioned as a connected device. I assume there is no basic problem with my router as I use it everyday with both cable connected and WIFI laptops under Windows 7.
When I try to create - for the first time - a connection to my existing Google account, I enter my Google email address and password and lauch the connection. I then get a warning message that says "Connection... This may last a few minutes". The problem is that this message stays forever displayed and the connection with the Goggle account is not done ... until, after tens of minutes, I finally decide to cancel the connection trial. I tried as well without success to use the web browser - still via WIFI on my router. The browser isn't able to access any internet page. This seems to be a connection problem although the phone is correctly connected and recognized by the router.

Apr 13, 2011I'm having problems connecting OVI to a Nokia N8-00 handset via Bluetooth. The Add New Device wizard is able to detect the phone but when selecting it from the list and proceeding it stays on "Checking the Bluetooth capabilities of your device." for some 20 seconds after which it eventually fails with the error of "Failed to connect to your device. Problems occurred while authorizing the Bluetooth connection between your device and computer."
I've verified that both devices are configured as authorized by their respective counterpart. Also tried to remove the pairing from both the laptop and phone and re-pair them again - same problem. I am able to sync the phone with OVI via USB no problem. I am also able to use my OVI with another Nokia phone (E72) via Bluetooth without any issues. This points me to a possible problem with Bluetooth on the N8 phone itself but I don't have any way to prove it.

Lumia 1520 :: Bluetooth Fails To Connect After Denim Update
Jun 19, 2015Lumia 1520 used to be flawless connecting to the paired Bluetooth in my car. Nothing has changed in the car. No updates or upgrades.
After the Denim update the phone will sometimes connect, and then after 1 or 2 successful connections, it will fail to connect although it still shows as paired. A reboot or re-pairing usually solves the issue and the cycle repeats.

May 19, 2011When using the E5 with the Toyota bluetooth carkit, it fails to deblock itself. Answering calls is not a problem as the E5 auto-deblocks upon receiving a call, but dailing via the carkit does not lift the block. As a result, I must first deblock it manually by entering the deblocking code which only solves the problem for a few minutes. Disabling auto-deblocking is not an option, as it would make the data on the phone vulnerable in case the phone would be lost/stolen. (This is about the code-block and not about the unprotected keypad block.) I have succesfully used HTC's and older Nokia's on the same carkit without this problem arising and my E5 software is up to date. Does anyone know how to arrange an auto-deblock when a bluetooth-paired device is being used like a carkit?

Mar 27, 2012My iPhone 4 is steadily getting worse about dropping bluetooth connection with my headset. I'm on my second iPhone 4 with this same issue. The symptoms: Bluetooth works great on the iPhone for several months and is fine with different brand headsets, including Samsung and LGAfter several months, the iPhone will start dropping bluetooth connection with the headset when in close proximity and on standby (that is, not actively in a call, just paired and waiting). Once the problem begins, it gets increasingly worse in just a week or two, with the connection dropping and re-establishing multiple times a minute even with the iPhone in my front pocket, less than 3 feet from the headset, and on the same side of my body.The bluetooth connection seems slightly stronger when a call is active. Although, the call participants might sound garbled to each other if there's anything between the phone and headset (like my body).The problem is reproducible even with a brand new headset. The following suggested resolutions did not work for me:Power off/on the iPhoneReset the iPhone (Power + Home Button)Toggle Airplane ModeToggle Bluetooth radioDelete and re-pair the bluetooth device(s) Reset Network Pair a brand-new, out of the box bluetooth headset. With my first iPhone, I was able to demonstrate the problem at the Apple Store. They provided a free replacement iPhone on the spot. Great!
Fast-forward a few months and now, with the second iPhone having the same problem, the Apple Store is less eager to replace the unit. Their back-room diagnostic testing with connection to clock-radio units did not demonsrate the problem (for one thing, that uses the A2DP bluetooth profile, not supported on any of my headsets). They offered to replace the unit again anyway to "make me happy", but I prefer a real solution. The Apple Store rep didn't find any technical bulletins about this problem. After purchasing yet another brand-new headset, I now plan to return this second iPhone to the Apple Store for replacement... but I want to know if I alone have uncovered this particular hardware issue with the iPhone 4.

Apr 21, 2012My iphone establishes a bluetooth connection to both of my cars (Kia and Toyota). It used to work fine. Now, I can search contacts, dial and hang up, but my phone won't go hands-free on either one (and on my phone I only have a "speaker" option, not an "audio source" option during a call). I can also start songs on it from my car as an auxiliary device, but it won't play through the car speakers. My wife's phone works fine in hands-free mode with both cars, so I know it's not the cars that are the problem. My phone is up-to-date with system downloads.

Aug 23, 2014I have iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2 and I'm experiencing a Bluetooth issue with my 2013 BMW 3-series. iOS randomly drops the Bluetooth connection (Hands Free) to my BMW during a phone call. The phone call is not dropped, but it still goes on in the iPhone, but the Bluetooth connection simply drops.Â
I have updated the BMW Connected Driver to the latest version from URL.... and it does..I suspect the issue is at the iOS side, since I'd day that the iOS 7.1 update introduced it and I did not have the issue with iOS 7.0.Â
