Apr 12, 2012I have a Torch 9810. Until a week or so ago, had no problems with my home wifi connection until suddenly it dropped the network. There have been no changes whatsoever in the wifi. I tried several times the solutions posted on various forums. Today I even reset to the manufacturer's setting - nothing.

Feb 1, 2011new Torch is unable to associate with my work wifi network when it uses WEP password. If I change wifi network to WPA password, then it works (But I cannot change it because the network is unsing WDS and it isn't compatible with WPA).
My old BB Pearl 8120 works fine with same network using WEP password. Therefore, what's happenign with Torch wifi?. Is there any wifi upgrade for Torch? For your information, the wifi router is an SMC Barricade-N (SMCWBR14-N)
I have tried almost everything. I'm desesperate. Torch is giving connections problems also with my wifi home network and also with my bluetooth handfree car system. If there isn't a solution soon I will have to change it for another mobile.

Sep 30, 2012I cannot connect the phone to my home internet. I have set up the details including the SSID and key/password but each time I try to connect it staes "Failed to associate with the Network".Vodaphone say it is a fault with the phone or my home internet provider but my hubby has a Blackberry and has no problem connecting his to our home internet. I have specifically got this phone for my teenage daughter who uses BBM and the internet mainly whilst in the house and as she can only use the inbuilt Vodaphone 250mb data allowance she will hit her limit in next to no time. Really need the phone to connect to the house internet.Have tried turning off, taking battery and sim out and starting up again but it doesnt help.

But last night, we bought a new Wireless Router and things started to get really frustrating. When I tried connecting to the new Wireless Router it was detected but gave me an error message "Reason: failed to associate with the network." I do not understand why and how it happened. So, I went back to using the old Wireless Router and it showed me that same error. I tried to Hard Reset (removing the battery) and also I tried to Restore the Wifi Settings to Default but it did not work.

Aug 9, 2011I have a BlackBerry Bold 9650 that i am using for with wifi so that i can still use my bbm i was working fine until 2 days ago and hasnt been a ble to connect to the wifi that i am using i can connect to other hot spots but not the one in the building that i live in i am using a LINKSYS WRT120N router. I have had our adminstrator reset the router and the modem. I have also tried taking the the battery out of my Blackberry for an extended period of time, and I have also tried to manually connect to the network and i still get the same error. If it helps i am in currently deployed and i dont have service with verizon i was just using my wifi connection.

But I change it to new sim card and purchase the BB unlimited social service, I can connect to yahoo messenger, facebook, blackberry messenger same as the previous one but I cannot connect to wifi at home, I try manually as well. I call the network (etisalat) they ask me to delete the wifi from service book then reboot the blackberry I did it 2 time,& still not connected.

Static IP
Phone restore
Battery removal
Sim removal
Router Restore
So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.

Mar 31, 2010Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.

Jul 23, 2011I need to reinstall version 6.0. I made the mistake of downloading it to my Torch 9800 and something went wrong since now my contacts do not synch via my enterprise server. Other functions freeze when try to use them. I have spent hours on the phone with AT&T, later with Data Group and finally with Blackberry directly. The last technician at BB sent me to open http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320 so that I could perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows. I followed those instructions carefully. When choosing to Update my device, which should give me the option to reload, it simply tells me that there are no new updates. Calling AT&T is a waste of time because they want to do the whole procedure all over (hours) or I receive their emails telling me that I must have the wrong version If anyone knows how to reinstall version 6.0 I will certainly otherwise I'll try to ask them to replace the phone.

BB Torch :: 9860 3G Connection Fails - Blocked State
Dec 28, 2011I just bough the Torch 9860 and already replaced another one for the same problem, and since this second have the same problem, I think it is a general problem. Well the thing is that while the phone is in 3G coverage, it sometimes goes to like a "blocked" state. By this, I mean that the phone states as connected to the network and with full signal, but call wouldn't go out nor in, data is also not available, and the most important thing is that the phone doesn't show any signs of disconnection nor anything problem alike. Up until now, I have only seen this happening while in 3G coverage, and when this problem occurs, I switch the phone to 2G only and starts working fine again.
