Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.
BB OS: v7.1.0.1091
When setting wifi to turn off when screen turns off it does so and that's perfect. However, When the screen is reactivated the wifi locks in "scanning" forever unless you press disable and enable wifi in whech case it will immediately steps scanning > acquiring > connected.
I'm using Curve 8900 os5.0.0.592 on vodafone. My phone had a problem with its speakerphone and I had to have it replaced. It was replaced at a backdoor repair because in Zimbabwe there are no registered blackberry® technicians. The speakerphone is now functioning but the wifi is no-longer scanning. Just wanted to ask if the two are by any chance related. Also BBS are not available in Zimbabwe so I rely on wifi when I want to use the browser.
Three or four days after a phone restart, I cannot turn WiFi off, it immediately turns back on. Seems like one app is doing this, how do I find it?
Details: I have an HTC One M7 on Sprint. It’s not rooted. After the recent update to Android Lollipop, I cannot turn the WiFi off.
It’s not as black-and-white as it would first appear, the WiFi on/off feature will work for 2, 3, or 4 days after the phone is hard restarted.
During the initial 2, 3, 4 day period of time, (it’s inexact, I’m still experimenting) WiFi on/off works fine. After the 2, 3, 4 day period of time, the off won’t work. What I see in settings, the Wi-Fi On/Off button with the green triangle never goes to off. On the settings screen when you two-finger swipe-down, the square WiFi icon when clicked, the concentric power waves will turn off for a second or two, then come right back on. And the WiFi icon in the status bar constantly shows a connection when trying to turn off.
I "upgraded" from 9700 to 9900. How disappointing that I can't use it for barcode scanning of books, product upc's or business card scanning. Amazon Price Check app will not even download. I even paid for apps for my old 9700 that I can't use. I expected more from bb as a business tool. I had to buy an Android(ugh) just to operate my Amazon business properly. I am a long time user of bb, but come on bb.
I just got a bold 9900 a couple weeks ago and I like it. I use facebook a lot and it worked on the mobile network not on wifi. Yesterday I synced my bold for updates and now facebook doesn't on my mobile network and only on wifi. How I can change it back so I can use my mobile network rather than wifi.
Somehow I blew it and am down to my last guess at my password to logon. What happens if I use the last attempt and fails. Is there anyway to reset my password before I take my final guess?
I have the blackberry 9900 and want to turn off the network internet services without turning off the wifi function. My mobile carrier is vodafone and even when I am connected to wifi, my credit is being used up. How do I disable the internet function but still use wifi? When I try disabling data services, wifi doesnt connect at all?
Recently I bought a new playbook and i have been trying to update it through my wifi but evrytime it fails. The playbook finds the update and starts downloading but after a while the download stops and there is a message unable to download software update. I also tried by reseting the router but every attempt has failed.
Since the GB update I have noticed that apps the do not install to the SD card by default fail the first time when you manually tell it to install the SD card. If you immediately try it again it will move successfully..I have already cleared the cache and factory reset to work around other odd app crash/stability issues but this items seems to persist. I have noticed the issue with/without SD card encryption enabled.
My new S5 works perfectly aside from the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. When I try to turn the wireless hotspot on it just turns off by itself. Sometimes it lasts a minute before switching off, lulling me into a sense of false hope before my dreams of connectivity are dashed.
My Bold 9900 refuses to boot up. I get a series of four flashing red lights, one slow then three fast. The screen froze for 3 minutes. I tried turning it off. No good. I removed the battery and now it won't start up.I have tried connecting to desktop. No good.I have tried booting up without the battery. No good.
Having issue since last night. Battery was 60% approximately. I followed the holding power and volume button and it goes to "restart bootloader" then suddenly nexus shuts off within 5 sec itself. Some times it goes to "Power Off" option but my nexus 5 suddenly shuts down within 5 sec itself. I tried several different chargers including the "official" one that came with the phone, but won't work.
I purchased my bold 9900 directly from Rim in February, and I noticed thatit recently keeps turning on and off by itself, sporadically. Once it turnsback on, it will immediately turn back off, and restart the process atleast 2-3 times. This is a nuisance because it happens many times a day. I have tried turning it on/off with and without my sim card, but it isn't helping?
I have been using a blackberry bold 9900 since almost a year now. I have never faced any problem with it before. But since last 1 month, my device switches/turns off by itself. Sometimes it turns off while I am using it, and sometimes when i remove it from the cover(holster), i find that it is turned off. the auto on/off feature is not enabled. this problem was very rare earlier, but since last few days, it turns off many times a day. I have the latest software update and few days ago, i again re-installed the device software. But it did not help. Below are the details of my device?
I have had a terrible experience with my bold 9900 bought 3 months ago.It keeps restarting and sometimes turns off at random or will turn off while calling, fb or texting. It had gone through 20 days of warranty repair done by Brightstar Malaysia but when it was returned to me yesterday it still had this problem. They claimed the phone had been sent to SIngapore for warranty repair. But from the look of it, nothing has been done properly and I am very disappointed.Does anyone here experience the same issues as I have? I am very tempted to write to RIM's CEO as this is the top of the range BB and it still doesn't reall work as it should. My calls for a replacement phone has not been entertained but I guess they would still want to repair it and it will be another 20 working days sent Singapore which I highly doubt their professionalism.
I got the bold 9900 2 months ago, In the last two weeks , it started , frezzing , that i coulnd open any aplication not even turn it off without taking the battery off. Now its resets by itself several times a day, and every time . Turns off, and then you can see the white blackberry line loading, and then turns on.. after a while it will do it again. I update the version and everything and nothings works.
Previous to upgrading to 7.1 my device would only go into charging mode when plugged in. Now when I plug it into my computer my SD card gets mounted. Is there a way to turn this off?
I have a Blackberry bold9900when I connect it via the USB cable into an electrical outlet to which I attached the plug to the device (the phone is turned off) the green light at the end of the charging will not turn on After all night he continued to blink. After full charge the light turns green? On my previous bold9000 the green light is lit?
2 weeks ago my wifi wasn't even turning on, no matter what i tried, the wifi button was always on off.
Then today it just randomly worked and I was able to turn on my wifi, it allowed me to use my wifi network for 5 min.
I decided to turn the wifi off then on again, and now it doesn't scan for networks. So even though my wifi is on, there are no list of networks I can choose to join.
edit: Smart network switch is always off, because mobile data is always disabled for me, Also i cannot find reply button.
I have Sprint Galaxy S5 and I am ready to throw it out the window. I have not had a problem with the phone until recently. I can't get it to cut the WiFi off and KEEP IT OFF!! I have tried everything!! I have gone into the advanced settings under WiFi and cut off the "network notification" (receive notification when open networks are in range), I've cut off the "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and changed it to NEVER. I unchecked the box and cut off the "always allow scanning" feature. Also under advanced settings I have cut off the smart network switch.
I have also gone into the "more networks" and cut off my connection optimizer and cut off the partner WiFi option. Even went as far as going into the Network Mode and changed it to LTE/CDMA. All of this is what I have read on the forums. Nothing is working. The WiFi is still cutting on. It wouldn't bother me if I had WiFi to connect to but because I don't it's interfering with my regular mobile data and making it to where I can't use my data. It cuts on about every minute!! Not to mention this is draining my battery! Oh another thing, I downloaded a virus scanning app and my phone is clean.
I purchased my 9900 the end of last month and got the goodies along with it. For some reason for the past couple days I keep losing my data services and i either have to reboot or cycle the mobile network connectivity.OS. 7.1.248
I use to keep the WiFi Scanning for location services on before Lollipop. Since Lollipop, if it is on, WiFi is ALWAYS scanning killing my battery within the hour. So I turned it off hoping that the Marshmallow update(s) would fix this. I'm on 6.0.1 and the issue is still here. It's kind of annoying turning on WiFi just for my GPS to lock on accurately. If so what fixed your phone.? I've done cache clearing, in the phone menu itself and through recovery to no avail.
I happen to buy a used BB9900 from an online selling website in the UAE, and it turns out, the network seems to be blocked completely and I cant possibly try to input any MEP codes in any way possible. Is the device as good as dead or is there still a way to revive the device?
I have an issue with the Blackberry Bold 9900, I notice that the mobile network antenna goes to SOS when I set the Network mode in 3G and 2G. And its only working when I left the the network configured in 2G only. I really need the 3G network working...
My Bold 9900 does not hold the MTN network.Every day (sometimes twice a day) I get an error message that says SIM not allowed - SOS. When I check my network it has changed to Cell C and I cannot change it back to MTN 3G or any of the MTN networks.
I bought my Xperia NEO few days back and m having Wifi connection problem. My mobile detects a network properly but when I connect, it shows status Conecting, then it switches to Scanning and in the end shows Disconnected. I've tried it on several hot spots but to no avail. Whether it is sensor problem or some software issue or what shall I do.
I am still having a problem with the wifi radio turning on by itself. No real issue, just battery usage. I am unable to re-install the software (version 7) because Desktop thinks the software is the current version. I'm pretty sure a total re-installation of the software would fix it. How do I do this?
