My new S5 works perfectly aside from the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. When I try to turn the wireless hotspot on it just turns off by itself. Sometimes it lasts a minute before switching off, lulling me into a sense of false hope before my dreams of connectivity are dashed.

Having issue since last night. Battery was 60% approximately. I followed the holding power and volume button and it goes to "restart bootloader" then suddenly nexus shuts off within 5 sec itself. Some times it goes to "Power Off" option but my nexus 5 suddenly shuts down within 5 sec itself. I tried several different chargers including the "official" one that came with the phone, but won't work.

Details: I have an HTC One M7 on Sprint. It’s not rooted. After the recent update to Android Lollipop, I cannot turn the WiFi off.
It’s not as black-and-white as it would first appear, the WiFi on/off feature will work for 2, 3, or 4 days after the phone is hard restarted.
During the initial 2, 3, 4 day period of time, (it’s inexact, I’m still experimenting) WiFi on/off works fine. After the 2, 3, 4 day period of time, the off won’t work. What I see in settings, the Wi-Fi On/Off button with the green triangle never goes to off. On the settings screen when you two-finger swipe-down, the square WiFi icon when clicked, the concentric power waves will turn off for a second or two, then come right back on. And the WiFi icon in the status bar constantly shows a connection when trying to turn off.
Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.

I used the Joikuspot Premium and that's really good but don't want to spend money, if anything free is available which have no limitation on accessing the internet (http, ftp. smtp).
I have it on 95% of the time. Set it to "immediately".
Only way I have found to make it last through the day at work.
I started using Onedrive and enabled automatic upload with wifi. I noticed when taking pictures and connected to wifi that Onedrive starts downloading almost immediately. Is there anyway to have the Onedrive App download at specific times (or even have any options) or should I look at a different App on the market that might handle uploads more to my preferences? I don't need my phone hanging on uploads as I'm trying to take pictures.
I guess the other option is to take it off automatic and just remember to do it myself every now and then.
Im loving the Galaxy SII but, 9 times out of 10, when I try to make a call, the call ends within 2 seconds, The phone appears to dial but then the call ends. The reception seems good (4 of 4 bars) and HSPA connection. I have tried a new sim card and reseting the phone to factory settings. But the problem persists. I also have intermittent problem of the phone not receiving incoming calls.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWith the latest mm but also with the beta when I send a whatsapp message it doesn't send immediately but takes up to 30 -40 seconds. This happens only on the first one because if I send other messages after that they are sent immediately.
I'm sure it's not a connection issue since telegram works like a charm.
My Iphone (white) turns on then off then on then off then on then off! Finaly when I eventually get to the lock screen it says: conect to power but I charged it last night and the percent bar (top right) says 100% . Now it says to charge with itunes? What am I supposed to do!

I was always using on other phones with Android 2.2 FroYo that 3G mobile hotspot feature, which was included right in the Android system under Wireless Networks settings.Now in Defy there is no option like that under settings in FroYo. Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. But here is the problem.On my older phone with Android 2.2 I could create 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I needed and it worked. But now, with Defy, when I use that application 3G Mobile Hotspot, it writes me error when creating WiFi hotspot "Cannot set up data link, please contact your service provider" I suppose it is something with my carrier (Vodafone_CZ), but when I used 3G WiFi hotspots on older phones (which had that feature included right in Android settings menu) it worked without problems and I a used mobile phone for 3G internet sharing with my laptop.Now I remember, that I have deleted some DUN profile under APN Internet profiles, could it be that problem, that 3G Mobile Hotspot app is not working?how to create WiFi hotspot on my Defy for example with some other app?Or if not, how can I use Internet Tethering in Defy Mobile Networks menu via Bluetooth (my laptot has BT). I had cricket unlock it because I'm in México and wanted to use it with TELCEL. The phone works fine with TELCEL but there is no mobile hotspot option in settings. (TELCEL does have tethering as I am able to use it on my iPhone). I don't know how to enable it.

I always have my phone on vibrate, but for some reason, after some time, vibrate stops working and it's as if I only had my phone on silent. The vibrate icon is still there, but my phone no longer vibrates on notifications and calls. It is not app specific and the color goes back to normal if I turn off/on the screen or switch apps (for example, let's say I'm in Chrome when the screen turns pinkish, if I use the multi-task button and go into messenger, the screen will correct itself. Same would happen if I go to a different Web page... As long as the displayed image on the screen changes) This is my second S5 with the problem. Phone is on verizon, stock lollipop.

This has to be a problem that's addressed. I don't know if it's a android problem or just the device specific but what I found out is that this occurs on the LG G4 as well. Seems happen when your phone is paired with a Bluetooth LE device while also paired to a Bluetooth Audio device.
My screen turns off every time I use the power button to turn it on and then place my finger to unlock it, I then need to turn it on again and unlock it. This happened almost every time I open it, usually I need to unlock it again after it turns off but sometimes when I turn on the screen the phone is already unlocked.
