I am trying to connect to wifi hotspot from Samsung S2, but after turning on, it starts scanning and shows the available Networks under Wifi Networks and after connecting to one of them for 4-5 mins, it disconnects and under Wireless and Networks it shows:

So I set my laptop as a hotspot. It works just fine with iphone 3gs, i pick up the signal and its really strong. But I have the Galaxy SII Skyrocket (AT&T) 2.3.5 and it scans but wont even pick up the signal. Tried reseting wifi on the phone, turning airplane mode on and off, made multiple networks to try and connect to but still no dice.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got my S2 now for maybe 2 weeks now and only now I noticed that my Wifi hotspot function is not working. I tried that with 2 different SIM's (in different countries) with the same result. Tethering via USB works fine. I can switch on the wifi hotspot (open or secured) and I can even connect to it. On my Win7 machine I have a connection for a few moments, after that I lose connection and at the end I lose connection to the wifi hotspot.
On my blackberry I can connect the first time. That connection stays open for maybe a minute. After that it automatically disconnects and I cant connect anymore until i restart the hotspot. When I switch off the hotspot it takes a long time and it ends with error (the status under wifi hotspot). If I just enable hotspot and disable it again it is without errors. So this seems only to happen when a client actually connects... I tried already a factory reset and read somewhere to enable bluetooth before enabling the hotspot, but the problem stays the same ...

My Samsung Tablet won't accept the password from my new Z5 during Wi Fi hotspot configuration process.
Tablet no problem with old phone used as hotspot.
Z5 no problem connecting to home WiFi.
I just got my Lumia 1520 handy but when I tried to connect it to the local Wifi hotspot (WPA2 encrypted), it times out saying "Connection unsuccessful - No response from the network". I searched the net for solutions and based on those, I restarted the Wifi Router, my Lumia 1520. Also I did a factory reset of the device.
But still, it is unable to connect to Wifi hot spot.I also tried connecting with another Wifi hotspot (WPA2), but nothing good happened. My other devices like Surface, Lumia 1020 are able to connect to the same hotspot without any issues. There is no restrictions on no. of Wifi connection as I am broadcasting the Wifi from my laptop (Windows 8.1 Update 1) as a virtual wifi hotspot.
I have a Toshiba skullcandy chromebook from 2015. My Samsung has a global plan through verizon and I want to use the phone as a hotspot when overseas.

Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. View 1 Replies View Relatedi have seen movies on Internet about connecting a usb stck to a samsung galaxy s 2 phone. as far as i can se you need a usb micro b male to a usb a female adaptor. however when i connect the adaptor to my phone nothing happens. whereas acc. to the Internet movie "samsung galaxy s2 usb otg demo " of nztechfreak you should see a usb host cable connected message in the host tray. however i don't get such a message. when i then connect my 40 gb lacie mini disk (which as far as i know works as a general usb stick) i won't be able to find that also. i also checked on my computer and it is formatted. i also tried with a real (8 gb ) usb stick, same problem.
