Apr 18, 2012Can you use Allshare using only your phone's portable wifi hotspot?I've learned that I can stream videos from my SG2 to my PS3 via Allshare.The only broadband I have is through my mobile data plan with 3 (all you can eat data).Trying to use Allshare, I was told to use a wifi network. I just got rid of my Virgin broadband on the basis of my Mobile providing my broadband (and a damned sight better too).

Jan 31, 2012So I set my laptop as a hotspot. It works just fine with iphone 3gs, i pick up the signal and its really strong. But I have the Galaxy SII Skyrocket (AT&T) 2.3.5 and it scans but wont even pick up the signal. Tried reseting wifi on the phone, turning airplane mode on and off, made multiple networks to try and connect to but still no dice.

Jul 17, 2011I've got my S2 now for maybe 2 weeks now and only now I noticed that my Wifi hotspot function is not working. I tried that with 2 different SIM's (in different countries) with the same result. Tethering via USB works fine. I can switch on the wifi hotspot (open or secured) and I can even connect to it. On my Win7 machine I have a connection for a few moments, after that I lose connection and at the end I lose connection to the wifi hotspot.
On my blackberry I can connect the first time. That connection stays open for maybe a minute. After that it automatically disconnects and I cant connect anymore until i restart the hotspot. When I switch off the hotspot it takes a long time and it ends with error (the status under wifi hotspot). If I just enable hotspot and disable it again it is without errors. So this seems only to happen when a client actually connects... I tried already a factory reset and read somewhere to enable bluetooth before enabling the hotspot, but the problem stays the same ...

When I go into the phonebook on the car or try to voice dial by a name it only pulls 10ish contacts from my phone. They always had the same video player. and I loved that video player, but recently, I went on a site to watch a show and the video player had changed. On other sites I can watch videos but on this site, the fullscreen button doesn't work with this new video player. I want to factory chrome video player.

May 26, 2015Been having this problem the past few days where i open chrome, and within about 10 seconds (random time intervals) it will just close.
Sometimes i can get it open type in the address bar what i was going to type in and then it closes, sometimes i open the app and it closes right away. I haven't seen any updates recently so not sure whats been going on.I just tried clearing the app cache to see if that works, will report back later.
Clearing Cache didn't work, still seeing the issue. Can't seem to re-create it as it happens at random, but it is still happening.

Now every time i load up chrome. If crashes within 10 seconds using about 1Gb of RAM and 50% cpu. so chrome is totally unusable for me.
What i have done is
-exported all bookmarks from chrome desktop
-deleted all sync data
-removed chrome completely from desktop and laptop
-fully reinstalled android on my phone
-reinstalled chrome on devices
-imported bookmarks via desktop
-let them all resync
Still got the issue. Huge memory leak and crashing.

Aug 19, 2015A few weeks ago I started to get these annoying virus like pop ups at random times. It's usually when I unlock my phone. It will open to chrome to a Web page that looks like Facebook saying I won a prize. The latest Web page is androidmax.mobi. The Web pages change from time to time but always end with .mobi. I Googled for a fix but can't find anything. It also at other times when I unlock or just random times open the play store to different games. This is extremely annoying. I haven't installed any new apps lately either but to just be safe I've deleted everything I've downloaded in the past couple months and still comes up. I've cleared cache and data on the play store and chrome too. It seems to stop for a few hours but always comes back.

As opposed to Firefox. When I click a YouTube link in Firefox, it does what I want, it opens up the YouTube app and plays the video there.

Feb 11, 2015Everytime since my upgrade when I go to Chrome it goes to a document://301 error page and it drives me nuts. I have a homepage set, but everytime I fire up Chrome I get this maddening error. I've gone in and deleted/cleared the Cache and Defaults so that when it fires up and goes through new browser setup intro. I follow through all the stuff and it does it again.
