Galaxy S6 :: Stop Device From Lagging And Battery Drain?
Dec 22, 2015Had my new S6 for a few days and ive been having problems with it and im thinking it's unacceptable. Occasionally when im browsing using chrome, the webpage will crash and would ask me to reload the page. Not sure why. Also, i notice when im browsing or in a news/sports app etc, when reading the scrolling would appear like 'choppy' and stuttering. On top of that the battery seems to drain somewhat quick. Also some apps like gmail have occasionally crashed.
I've tried everything to stop this, i.e. use nova launcher, turned brightness down, restarted and cleared my cache but i cant get it to run smooth. I had the htc m8 and I never recalled it doing this.

May 28, 2015At least 8 to 10 times per day my new GS6 will lag and freeze when changing screens or going between applications. I must leave it alone for 15 to 20 seconds until it catches up. Happening to my wife's new GS6 as well.

Jun 26, 2015First of all i am a loyal galaxy fan since the s1.. but the recent lag i been getting is unbearable. Whenever an app updates in the background. ... the phone lags like hell. Switching between i have to wait at least 30 seconds. The keyboard lags. This should not happen on the "fastest phone out". It will lag the same way on my s5 in the same situation. I have alrady tried a factory reset, and wipe cache and i shouldnt eveb have to do that on a 2015 flagship phone to prevent lag. I mean the phone is blazing fast but its only sometimes
Another annoyance is that whenever i have my headphones on listening to music. The volume will lower and mute all by itself, the phone will start to vibrate and Google Now will launch by itselt. And once again the same thing happened on my s5
This is unnaceptable for me to have to go through this but I'm still in love with my galaxy s6 edge!

Oct 17, 2015I factory reset my phone and during the process of signing in, agreeing to T&C's etc, a strange problem started occurring - the touchscreen became super unresponsive (had to press something three of five times for it to respond), however, at the same time, the phone would quickly vibrate on touch multiple times, but again, not actually do anything. Moreover, a weird blue text box started appearing around the options I touched and I can't swipe down to access the normal settings menu.
And to top it all off, if I long hold the power button to force restart/power off, it just won't do it. (tried the old "turn it off and on" trick to see it'll do the trick)
Everything was all normal until this point, had my phone for a couple of months, haven't dropped it or anything.

They always had the same video player. and I loved that video player, but recently, I went on a site to watch a show and the video player had changed. Now I can't even watch my shows on that specific site anymore because the fullscreen button is doesn't appear, but it's not the site. It's the video player. On other sites I can watch videos but on this site, the fullscreen button doesn't work with this new video player. I want to factory chrome video player.
(and no I don't want to uninstall chrome updates because chrome looks horrible in it's factory version)

May 26, 2015Been having this problem the past few days where i open chrome, and within about 10 seconds (random time intervals) it will just close.
Sometimes i can get it open type in the address bar what i was going to type in and then it closes, sometimes i open the app and it closes right away. I haven't seen any updates recently so not sure whats been going on.I just tried clearing the app cache to see if that works, will report back later.
Clearing Cache didn't work, still seeing the issue. Can't seem to re-create it as it happens at random, but it is still happening.

Now every time i load up chrome. If crashes within 10 seconds using about 1Gb of RAM and 50% cpu. so chrome is totally unusable for me.
What i have done is
-exported all bookmarks from chrome desktop
-deleted all sync data
-removed chrome completely from desktop and laptop
-fully reinstalled android on my phone
-reinstalled chrome on devices
-imported bookmarks via desktop
-let them all resync
Still got the issue. Huge memory leak and crashing.

Sep 6, 2015Running v 5.0 in my s.5. Android stopped saving my open tabs so when I open Chrome, I get the google home page instead of my last open tabs. I have a lower android version in my tablet and it still holds my last pages so I suspect this is an upgrade "improvement". The tabs do remain in my history but that means going to my history and opening from there. I wonder is there any way around this - I use specific pages every time I open and this is adding unnecessary steps.

Jul 20, 2010This is not a debate post just my thoughts and have to vent,I prob.won't even come back to this thread.i've been a member for a lil bit and just usually browse the forums but couldnt hold back cuz im so upset with this phone.I have the latest ota os and the latest bug is I'll be talking on bbm and every 10-15 min it lags down and locks up for a few.I've had this phone since feb.and it is complete garbage cuz of all the issues with all the different os.I don't have alot of apps.I BOUGHT(which is stupid to have to buy cuz rim ***** programmers should be putting em out left and right for free cuz they can't get an os working right)a bunch but usually one interferes with another so I just have berry slider and a few themes and simple ones.I love the keyboard and when it's working is great which isnt often.I'm not new to blackberry and its the email and messenger that sucked me in to keep bb but will be my last.Can't wait to see whats out there when contract is up,just sucks cuz i have awhile to go.I would never recommend this phone to anyone.Nobody needs to say"just wait for os6"unfortuneately I'll have to deal with that os bugs also cuz of my contract.Wife has the droid with slider keyboard and I'm not jealous of the phone but just jealous she doesnt have issues with it.For those of you that don't have issues good luck and those of you thinking of getting a bb.
