Galaxy S6 :: How To Stop Samsung Phone From Lagging And Freezing
May 28, 2015
At least 8 to 10 times per day my new GS6 will lag and freeze when changing screens or going between applications. I must leave it alone for 15 to 20 seconds until it catches up. Happening to my wife's new GS6 as well.
I have a Blackberry Torch from Orange Dominican Republic. I unlocked it and im using it for Tmobile....The actual problem is that I want to buy the Playbook and use it with my phone so I went to Best buy to test it... I was able to pair it because I read overthere that i needed the Blackberry bridge... Everything worked fine except the BBM won't bridge with the playbook.. I came home and read a lil bit online about it and noticed that I had to upgrade my BBM to 5.0.3.22 which I did... so when I went back to best buy to test it, I tried turning the bridge on and it froze my phone to the point that i had to remove the battery 3 times... I gave up and left Best buy with no success... I came home and the phone was still acting stupid, so I unninstalled the Bridge...
my concern is... why was it working fine before i upgraded my BBM to 5.0.3.22 (except for the BBM Bridge with playbook)... I mean it wouldn't freeze my torch or anything like that... I'm currently running os 6.0 bundle 695 (v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105)I really want the playbook but the main features im interested in is to bridge with my Torch..Another problem i have is that i can't download anything from the App world.. I could see apps but when I try to download it will say that the application is not available through app world... I mean ANY app that i try to download.
Had my new S6 for a few days and ive been having problems with it and im thinking it's unacceptable. Occasionally when im browsing using chrome, the webpage will crash and would ask me to reload the page. Not sure why. Also, i notice when im browsing or in a news/sports app etc, when reading the scrolling would appear like 'choppy' and stuttering. On top of that the battery seems to drain somewhat quick. Also some apps like gmail have occasionally crashed.
I've tried everything to stop this, i.e. use nova launcher, turned brightness down, restarted and cleared my cache but i cant get it to run smooth. I had the htc m8 and I never recalled it doing this.
When I am texting using messaging it takes a Long time to load previous messages a long time to type or press the send button. It only freeze when I'm using messaging any other app is fine to use it have rebooted the phone turned it on and off and cleared cache anything else I can do before I send the phone back
My Motorola Spice freezes quite often. I'll be using an App, or trying to dial someone, browsing my phone, etc and a lot of times the phone will just freeze. Buttons cannot be pressed or anything. All you can do is sit there and annoyingly wait for 3 minutes for the phone to automatically restart and load itself back up. Why does it do this? Is there any way to fix this problem? It's really annoying and frustrating. I can't even check for system updates (currently have Android 2.1) because it keeps saying "Cannot be checked at this time" and Mobilicity isn't even listed as a carrier to check the software update on the site. My phone also lags a lot. I noticed I have to wait for the phone to "catch up with me" (i.e. texting or loading). Is there any way I can increase or better my phone's performance? I don't know what's the problem and if I should get it sent in to Motorola to get it fixed.
I decided to update my samsung s6 after the update thing had reminded me three times. But it won't stop going from the samsung screen, to the AT&T scree, to the optimizing apps screen, and loading maybe 12/65 apps, and then going black, and then back to the samsung screen. I don't know what to do, because it's been doing this over and over again for more than 5 minutes.
Every time I connect my Samsung Galaxy s5 to my laptop to transfer photos, it always moves over picture and video advertisements probably from apps. My worry is that they're taking up space on my storage, but I can't seem to find them on my phone...
Had an S2 for a couple of weeks but cannot figure out how to stop the phone ringing when a text message is received. Previous phones I have had just require either a swipe or any button to be depressed but the S2 just goes on and on until you actually read the message.
After updating my iphone 4s today to the new IOS 5.1.1 software, the phone has started lagging!! and the screen has kept freezing for more than an hour and I couldn't turn the phone off, or access the iphone!! it was in a complete lagging stage!
Well the day after I got my 5.0 update on my s5. I noticed that my gallery was running. (according to the task bar), so I stopped it. I go back on it a few seconds later and it is running again. How do I stop this!!!
As the title says, I have my s2 set to 'never' vibrate. Why then does my phone vibrate VERY strongly when I get ebay alerts? It doesn't vibrate for any other notifications.Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do to stop thisy phone crashed about a month ago and I've had problems with it ever since.
Periodically I use Google Voice on the stock keyboard to text. However I noticed when I try to exit Google Voice by clicking the "X" the application freezes and I can't exit until it times out.
My s2 keeps freezing, has constant drag and is just being a tad bit annoying.
i bought the phone new, i had rooted it and put a custom rom on. the custom rom ran fine for months so i doubt that is was a dodgy rom. then one day i just started getting these problems. so i took off the rooted rom, and when the problem was still there i unrooted (if that is the term) and rebooted to factory settings. i still have the problem though.
ok so ive rooted my phone and everything is working fine but i go to freeze and app and my phone gets stuck freezing the app. and i have to hard close titanium. but when i go back into it the app is frozen.
so i havn't rooted my s2 yet and i am wondering if what i have been doing is the same as "freezing" apps. i have advanced task killer and i opened the 'hub' apps and selected to disable them.
When sending a long text SMS message it seems to reach a character limit then switch automatically to a MMS media message instead. I have unlimited texts but only 20 media messages per month. Is there any way to stop this happening so I can use texts only and save my media messages?
when i start the phone from turned off the start up music plays continuously until you make a call. why? how do i stop it and can i tun it off anyway? cheers rob
I want my emails to come in to my S2 only occasionally, eg when I'm away from home for several days. I've got my 'Account settings' - 'Email check frequency' set to 'Never', but they are still coming in.
I mainly use my Galaxy S II to access my WLAN and rarely use the phone for telephone calls. Yet my pre-paid credit is constantly being eaten up?
I think the phone is set up to automatically select the best network. Normally this will be my WLAN,but I suppose,if I am in an area of the house with poor WLAN coverage, the mobile network is automatically selected?
Among the slight annoyances I have with touchwiz, I really don't like Samsung's keyboard. If I disable it in input methods, it only stays disabled until I actually use the other keyboard/input method I have selected.
It turns itself back on and gives me a notification to select input method. As it's a samsung app, it can't be disabled in app settings. Would it be safe to just delete it completely? I don't think there's an option to disable the notification popup when you have multiple input methods turned on. extreme phone ocd
edit: nvm I guess, yolo deleted it, now to get rid of sfinder and QC in notification menu
I have a Samsung S6 Edge. Every time I turn on GPS, either High Accuracy or Battery Saver.. whenever I lock my phone... i lose that GPS signal. Everytime time I wake it back up or unlock it..i will see a "searching for location", then a "location found". This happens for ALL application, Google Maps, Verizon Navigotor, MapMyRun, etc. This is very frustrating as I use these apps all the time and I cant keep my phone 'unlocked' as then the screen is active and I would accidently click things.
ADDITIONALLY, after using the GPS, I will then shut off the location feature and then my phone will continually say "searching for location", even with location off. I close all my current applications etc.. and it still says searching. This message does not go away until i turn back on location or restart my phone.
When I go to location settings, i see "recent location requests" of "Google Play services" and Location Services of "Google Location History".. that is it!
I am about to the point of wiping out my phone and starting over. (which i dont want to do). I have not battery saver or app killers downloaded on my phone so that cant be it.
Why my Samsung Galaxy S6 920F is rebooting and freezing about 10 or more times a day?
- I tried to perform a factory reset + wipe cache partition; - Tried to use it in safe mode - still had issues; - It is even sometimes freezing on boot menu (power+vol_up+home)
I had stock 5.1.1 on it, but if I remember correctly, then it was happening also before 5.1.1, but not 100% what version I had. About 3 weeks ago I had same issue, but then after factory reset it was gone for 2 weeks and last friday again faced with this issue.
I recently had intermittent freezing on the phone -- in apps (new and old), on the lock screen, on the launcher. After searching the Web, I did everything recommended--numerous soft resets, a couple of hard resets, consulted Samsung's technical chat room, took the phone to Samsung's local kiosk for a forced software update--nothing worked and the end result was that Samsung said it was a hardware problem and that I needed to send the phone in to Samsung for a look at the hardware. Before doing that, I looked at the system and saw that it did not show any storage information for the SD card. I replaced the SD card and it fixed the problem--the phone is operating just fine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation if somewhere along the line someone had thought to look at the SD card -- apparently a bad SD card can cause system instability on the S5.
G920f came to me that cannot startup. I powered on but after 10 seconds it freezed. if you leave longer powered of it can works maybe to one minute and freezed again. I tried 4 different flashes but same. I tried to hard reset but in freezed on android figure. I flash unikernel so I could enter on recovery meny made hard reset and wipe cache but still same situation. The phone is brand new and costumer said that he had this problem from begining after thid day of work and he didnt bought with warranty.
I have googled quite a bit without finding a solution. I have an MS Exchange mail account which I set to manual sync. Works fine. I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?
