Had an S2 for a couple of weeks but cannot figure out how to stop the phone ringing when a text message is received. Previous phones I have had just require either a swipe or any button to be depressed but the S2 just goes on and on until you actually read the message.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAt least 8 to 10 times per day my new GS6 will lag and freeze when changing screens or going between applications. I must leave it alone for 15 to 20 seconds until it catches up. Happening to my wife's new GS6 as well.

But it won't stop going from the samsung screen, to the AT&T scree, to the optimizing apps screen, and loading maybe 12/65 apps, and then going black, and then back to the samsung screen. I don't know what to do, because it's been doing this over and over again for more than 5 minutes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI switched from an iPhone to the S5 in mid december and have had issues with getting texts. I have read a lot about it, so I shut off iMessage on my mac and even disabled my number with iMessage on Apple's site. However, I am still not receiving some texts from iPhones. If they send a text just to me i get it fine (even though they may have to click send as a text message) but I won't be able to get it in a group text. It is frustrating because I can see some texts but not all of them. This has been happening for over a month now.

I'm new to the Android phone and I'm finding a few things that really annoy me.
Samsung apps, how do I stop them, along with google?
It only updates on wifi, but I don't use them and don't want them.
When sending a long text SMS message it seems to reach a character limit then switch automatically to a MMS media message instead. I have unlimited texts but only 20 media messages per month. Is there any way to stop this happening so I can use texts only and save my media messages?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I call someone or get called, the person on the other end receives nothing but static/disturbance. This is weird as my phone worked perfectly fine before. I can hear my caller perfectly fine, but they cannot hear me. This is high volume rubbish noise, when I shout, a little of voice makes it through, but it's hardly noticeable. Here are a few things I tried:
- Speech recorder: works fine. So it can't be the microphone
- Using headset: My headset filters silence and only 'sends out' voice when it recognizes noise. When Im silent, there is no static. As soon as I speak and the headset registers (and sends) voice, the static on the other end returns.

I think the phone is set up to automatically select the best network. Normally this will be my WLAN,but I suppose,if I am in an area of the house with poor WLAN coverage,the mobile network is automatically selected?
How can I block this automatic (non-option)?
Among the slight annoyances I have with touchwiz, I really don't like Samsung's keyboard. If I disable it in input methods, it only stays disabled until I actually use the other keyboard/input method I have selected.
It turns itself back on and gives me a notification to select input method. As it's a samsung app, it can't be disabled in app settings. Would it be safe to just delete it completely? I don't think there's an option to disable the notification popup when you have multiple input methods turned on. extreme phone ocd
edit: nvm I guess, yolo deleted it, now to get rid of sfinder and QC in notification menu

I see that call someone is calling but no sound comes out of phone (I can answer call and all is OK). I tried to change profiles General/Meeting but anyway after change I make test call and still no sound. Only thing that help is switch off and back on.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung S6 Edge. Every time I turn on GPS, either High Accuracy or Battery Saver.. whenever I lock my phone... i lose that GPS signal. Everytime time I wake it back up or unlock it..i will see a "searching for location", then a "location found". This happens for ALL application, Google Maps, Verizon Navigotor, MapMyRun, etc. This is very frustrating as I use these apps all the time and I cant keep my phone 'unlocked' as then the screen is active and I would accidently click things.
ADDITIONALLY, after using the GPS, I will then shut off the location feature and then my phone will continually say "searching for location", even with location off. I close all my current applications etc.. and it still says searching. This message does not go away until i turn back on location or restart my phone.
When I go to location settings, i see "recent location requests" of "Google Play services" and Location Services of "Google Location History".. that is it!
I am about to the point of wiping out my phone and starting over. (which i dont want to do). I have not battery saver or app killers downloaded on my phone so that cant be it.
I saw a thread on here recently I think of how to stop unwanted pop-ups in the notification area..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 4s receives calls but has stopped ringing, hence I keep missing calls. I have checked my settings, the volume is up and it is not set to silent. I have always had the settings so that it rings and vibrates together, itrs just stopped ringing.
I have been back through ring tones and clicked on it and it sounds, the speaker works also. It would seem all announcement tones have stopped announcing be it text, call, message etc etc.
Its doing my nut in as I I am missing lots of important calls and am finding I spending a lot of my time checking my phone for missed calls.
