View 1 RepliesIt's a brand new phone and all the settings have been checked, the app has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times. The phone has even been reset to factory settings but I still can't get facebook notifications. I get no sound and no flashing light in the upper corner of the phone.

I've even had to take my phone number off my facebook page and logout from my phone to stop them, but as soon as I log in again, 'ding ding ding.' goes my phone again

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got a brand new Galaxy S II with a new contract and have been using with a lot of joy. However, recently a problem occurred with the battery in a sense that it sometimes suddenly goes from 30-ish % to 0 instantly, therefore causing my phone to shut down with no warning. Also, after this happened, I cannot just plug in the phone to the charger, because for some reason it does not charge. I have to remove the battery and then put it back in again before I can charge it. This has been happening almost daily and I don't know what the cause is. The phone is not rooted or tampered with in any way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to stop app notifications on the phone other than having to bring the app to the home screen then pressing the app to check app info and then selecting stop notifications? This seems so bulky. Like is there another way of getting here?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my Galaxy S5, every couple of days, I get a push notification called "App optimisation". "Save battery power by optimising the power usage of apps" ......
I don't want this notification, ever. Normally, the way to get rid of unwanted push notifications on Android is to long tap the notification which brings up the App Info, and then you untick "Show notifications". However, I cannot do that this time, as the "Show notifications" tickbox is ticked, but greyed out, so I cannot untick it.
How else can I get rid of this annoying, intrusive notification?
Anyway to change notifications so that when someone comments on a status or something i post i can have it pushed to my phone. It sometimes work but all the time I gotta keep going into facebook and see what the notifications are.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from HTC One M7 to S6 Edge on launch and recently I bought Spotify premium and I noticed that my phone mutes music every time I receive notification. I like to text/whatsapp while listening to music or browsing Internet. Is there a way to make the notification sound just be on top of the music without muting it?

View 20 Replies View RelatedOn the S6 it's possible to disable the Facebook app, but there are two services still running and make updates outside the Google play store, so even if I have disabled auto updates, Facebook does it!
The services are called
.com.facebook.appmanager
.com.facebook.system
How can I stop these services from starting up without root?
Is it only possible to use one sound for all notifications? I thought I'd be able to set different sounds for email, text, calendar. I also use BT Fon app for wifi and this uses the same as all the rest.
I've set tone for email in email settings but now that gets played as well as the tone that's set for notifications in settings>sound>notification ringtone, when I only need one alert.
I'm new to the Android phone and I'm finding a few things that really annoy me.
Samsung apps, how do I stop them, along with google?
It only updates on wifi, but I don't use them and don't want them.
When sending a long text SMS message it seems to reach a character limit then switch automatically to a MMS media message instead. I have unlimited texts but only 20 media messages per month. Is there any way to stop this happening so I can use texts only and save my media messages?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want my emails to come in to my S2 only occasionally, eg when I'm away from home for several days. I've got my 'Account settings' - 'Email check frequency' set to 'Never', but they are still coming in.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI mainly use my Galaxy S II to access my WLAN and rarely use the phone for telephone calls. Yet my pre-paid credit is constantly being eaten up?
I think the phone is set up to automatically select the best network. Normally this will be my WLAN,but I suppose,if I am in an area of the house with poor WLAN coverage, the mobile network is automatically selected?
How can I block this automatic (non-option)?
Among the slight annoyances I have with touchwiz, I really don't like Samsung's keyboard. If I disable it in input methods, it only stays disabled until I actually use the other keyboard/input method I have selected.
It turns itself back on and gives me a notification to select input method. As it's a samsung app, it can't be disabled in app settings. Would it be safe to just delete it completely? I don't think there's an option to disable the notification popup when you have multiple input methods turned on. extreme phone ocd
edit: nvm I guess, yolo deleted it, now to get rid of sfinder and QC in notification menu

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve had no problems with my sgs2 since getting it apart from battery life being very poor and only lasting a day at work, so a friend told me to turn on the power saving, i cudnt get along with that as i like my phone bright and fast...so i turned it off.
Since doing this my emails no longer update unless i click refresh in the gmail app? im no longer getting notifications for new emails and i cant find any setting to stop this?
just picked up an S2 from sprint as a replacement for HTC Evo.Great phone all around, however i`m having one issue. HTC Sense UI has an option to preview messages(2lines) and missed calls right(who and time) on lock screen. This is really handy option with small kids around you dont have to unlock your phone.Since S2 is missing that I've downloaded Notify App which works great. However - I cannot turn off stock notifications - they still show up - so at this time I have to clear notifications twice - once in App and once in Notifications Bar. Is there a way of turning off stock notifications (without custom ROM)? On all other phones i had - there was an option to go to Settings Privacy and uncheck the notifications. This is missing on S2 - all i can see under privacy is Reset to Factory.I really like the phone and how smooth it is. At this point i really dont want to do a custom ROM (`ill root it if need it)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung S6 Edge. Every time I turn on GPS, either High Accuracy or Battery Saver.. whenever I lock my phone... i lose that GPS signal. Everytime time I wake it back up or unlock it..i will see a "searching for location", then a "location found". This happens for ALL application, Google Maps, Verizon Navigotor, MapMyRun, etc. This is very frustrating as I use these apps all the time and I cant keep my phone 'unlocked' as then the screen is active and I would accidently click things.
ADDITIONALLY, after using the GPS, I will then shut off the location feature and then my phone will continually say "searching for location", even with location off. I close all my current applications etc.. and it still says searching. This message does not go away until i turn back on location or restart my phone.
When I go to location settings, i see "recent location requests" of "Google Play services" and Location Services of "Google Location History".. that is it!
I am about to the point of wiping out my phone and starting over. (which i dont want to do). I have not battery saver or app killers downloaded on my phone so that cant be it.
