Samsung Galaxy S II :: Stop Vibration For Ebay Alerts (when Phone Already Set To 'never' Vibrate)?
Jun 23, 2012
As the title says, I have my s2 set to 'never' vibrate. Why then does my phone vibrate VERY strongly when I get ebay alerts? It doesn't vibrate for any other notifications.Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do to stop thisy phone crashed about a month ago and I've had problems with it ever since.
I'm looking at used Galaxy tablets on eBay. I'm almost always in an area where there's wi-fi. Will I have any issues like I'm not going to get nagged to death about signing up with whatever carrier the tab was with?
Is there a way to have the phone ring and have all other notifications either silent or vibrating? I use my cell as my primary phone and it would be nice while I sleep to hear the phone ring and not hear all the other sounds the phone makes for notifications and stuff like that.
I had a blackberry prior to this phone and I was able to easily do that with sound options. I don't see the same option with this phone.
I am new on android world and when i had iphone with ios, i selected custom vibrate pattern for VIP email contact, now i need to do this no my new Samsung s6 but i don't know how to do. I want that only 1 contact email will vibrate different from all others.
I just purchased the S5 and I am a little confused. I have vibrating on for notifications but when I get a notification the sound plays but no vibration. I have a different sound for texting and other notifications. When I get a text I get the vibration but not with any other notification. Vibration intensity is set all the way.
At least 8 to 10 times per day my new GS6 will lag and freeze when changing screens or going between applications. I must leave it alone for 15 to 20 seconds until it catches up. Happening to my wife's new GS6 as well.
I decided to update my samsung s6 after the update thing had reminded me three times. But it won't stop going from the samsung screen, to the AT&T scree, to the optimizing apps screen, and loading maybe 12/65 apps, and then going black, and then back to the samsung screen. I don't know what to do, because it's been doing this over and over again for more than 5 minutes.
Every time I connect my Samsung Galaxy s5 to my laptop to transfer photos, it always moves over picture and video advertisements probably from apps. My worry is that they're taking up space on my storage, but I can't seem to find them on my phone...
Had an S2 for a couple of weeks but cannot figure out how to stop the phone ringing when a text message is received. Previous phones I have had just require either a swipe or any button to be depressed but the S2 just goes on and on until you actually read the message.
Well the day after I got my 5.0 update on my s5. I noticed that my gallery was running. (according to the task bar), so I stopped it. I go back on it a few seconds later and it is running again. How do I stop this!!!
I want to know that how a person can stop vibration when phone is ringing on silent mode..when there is only vibration no ring tone...just want to stop that vibration either on silent mode..
Since the lollipop update I can't turn off the "new sms message" on my radio while playing music through bluetooth. Before the update I could just turn my phone on vibrate or mute and the alerts wouldn't interrupt my music. I'll be singing along to a song when suddenly the music stops, an alert tone comes on and the "new sms message" pops up on my radio display. It's bad enough that half of my apps stop working randomly for no reason since the update.
The volume button adjusts the ringtone volume. When it is pushed all the way down, it switches to vibrate. If I accidentally push it once more, it switches to mute. I want the phone to always vibrate, regardless of whether the ringer is on or not. I don't want the volume button to adjust vibration.
My S2 is only about four or five months old and I recently started noticing that it is not alerting on text messages anymore. I checked the settings and the obvious stuff such as the volume being on and a ringtone for text notification is set. I just went to unlock my phone and I noticed that the phone did not play the click or pop noise as I hit the keys to unlock the phone. Again, the volume was on....maybe this is a larger issue...
I did a google search and a search on this forum but i could not find a solution. After i send a text i get a balance notification from O2, This notification vibrates. Is there a way to turn this vibration off (or only have it vibrate in silent mode, like i have enabled for my SMS)
my phone won't vibrate on notifications or calls anymore and it's killing me. settings > sound > vibration is set to 'always'. i didn't drop the phone or anything, so i don't know what it could be. the vibrating phone icon is visible on the top bar too.i'm using go sms pro and have that set to vibrate always, and even if i run the test notification, it says that vibrate is on, but it doesn't actually vibrate.
every few days I simply can't do anything with my phone except make calls and send messages. When I use fb I get an error message 'an error has occurred while fetching data. [host is unresolved: api.facebook.com:80]When I use my ebay app I get 'no network found. please retry or check your network settings. Error type 5002'All I have now is very expensive housebrick!
I've noticed I've been missing a few calls when the phone is in my pocket, so ran a few tests and now realise that my phone is not vibrating. I've checked all the obvious settings and it should be. I'm on ICS 4.0.3
I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect.
I just recently got a new blackberry bold phone. When I go up in the left hand corner and put it on Vibrate, it vibrates my phone but my emails, text messages and other alerts still ring. With my old one I could put it on vibrate and it would vibrate them all. Is their a way to fix this so that when I put it on vibrate it vibrates everything.
A few hours ago I put my iPhone 3GS on ebay. I've been buying from ebay for years, but never sold anything. I have no idea what price. Right now I started the bidding at $200, but I think that might be to high to start if off like that. I did the bid for 3 days because I wanted to get the Lost Complete Series Blu-Ray Collection ASAP (hopefully on Tuesday) lol.
I can still edit my price, since no one has bided on it yet.
Here is what I'm offering, Apple iPhone 3GS Black (32GB) in Like NEW CONDITION, iOS 4.0.2 Software, perfect screen (absolutely no scratches anywhere on the iPhone 3GS). Includes original box, headphones and USB cable / wall charger. In Great condition, Belkin Grip Two-Toned Vector Case for smartphone - Black, white Silicone (slight wear to the case)
I was thinking in the area of $150-$225 for a 3 day long bid? Anyone have any suggestions? I see people buying it for over 400 dollars, so I don't want me missing out since I'm an ebay selling noob.
edit: Ok I did some research.... I'm just wondering on some feedback for a first time seller... How does this ad look.... I have zero bids so far, so I'm trying lol. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1154
I just got my tour this week, and haven't been able to figure out how to just have vibration when I get emails without the ringtone or chime following after. And I'm talking about when the profile is not on Vibration. I just want the email notifications to be on vibrations when the profile is on active or loud or medium. I didn't have an issue with the Curve in doing this. What am I doing wrong?
I click Sounds Scroll down to ring tones/alerts click ringtones/alerts click messages. Then click the email I want to change the settings to and then I have the following settings:
Ring Tone: BBpro_Sanguine volume:silent. led: on vibration: on notify me during calls: NO
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?
My old g600 battery is dying. I need a new replacement. I can get 2x standard batteries for $10 on eBay (guessing 880mah) or for $11 a 1450mah big battery. Is it worth it? And do they actually come in capacities this large while still fitting in the phone?
I'm not new to buying phones off of eBay, but usually I do buy it now from a very large and prolific store for new imported GSM phones (like my current Samsung g600). I have never gotten a domestic US phone and want to get a Samsung Vibrant, but many of the cheaper new or used deals are from individual users with relatively smaller feedback numbers. How would I go about making sure I don't get a stolen phone from one of them? I know Verizon checks ESN numbers for their CDMA phones but I don't know what protections GSM phones have, if they have any at all. Do they check IMEI numbers? I think I remember hearing that custom firmwares will erase the number, so it isn't a good indicator and can be used against me to sell a phone. So for anyone buying domestic used or new phones, any tips on avoiding these situations? And even if I do end up with one, it probably won't brick on me like a CDMA phone would?
