I recently had intermittent freezing on the phone -- in apps (new and old), on the lock screen, on the launcher. After searching the Web, I did everything recommended--numerous soft resets, a couple of hard resets, consulted Samsung's technical chat room, took the phone to Samsung's local kiosk for a forced software update--nothing worked and the end result was that Samsung said it was a hardware problem and that I needed to send the phone in to Samsung for a look at the hardware. Before doing that, I looked at the system and saw that it did not show any storage information for the SD card. I replaced the SD card and it fixed the problem--the phone is operating just fine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation if somewhere along the line someone had thought to look at the SD card -- apparently a bad SD card can cause system instability on the S5.
Why my Samsung Galaxy S6 920F is rebooting and freezing about 10 or more times a day?
- I tried to perform a factory reset + wipe cache partition; - Tried to use it in safe mode - still had issues; - It is even sometimes freezing on boot menu (power+vol_up+home)
I had stock 5.1.1 on it, but if I remember correctly, then it was happening also before 5.1.1, but not 100% what version I had. About 3 weeks ago I had same issue, but then after factory reset it was gone for 2 weeks and last friday again faced with this issue.
G920f came to me that cannot startup. I powered on but after 10 seconds it freezed. if you leave longer powered of it can works maybe to one minute and freezed again. I tried 4 different flashes but same. I tried to hard reset but in freezed on android figure. I flash unikernel so I could enter on recovery meny made hard reset and wipe cache but still same situation. The phone is brand new and costumer said that he had this problem from begining after thid day of work and he didnt bought with warranty.
When I am texting using messaging it takes a Long time to load previous messages a long time to type or press the send button. It only freeze when I'm using messaging any other app is fine to use it have rebooted the phone turned it on and off and cleared cache anything else I can do before I send the phone back
Since I have updated my Samsung S5 to Android v5.0 I am finding that my phone locks up while it is on wireless charge. I have the samsung back cover and also the samsung wireless dock for wireless charging.
It does not happen everytime I charge the phone via wireless charging. But since I've updated which was around two weeks ago. It has done it three times approx.
I just see a dulled Samsung screen and the phone is unresponsive to any buttons including holding down the power button to turn the phone off. I end up having to pull out the battery and replace it again in order to get the phone to work again.
At least 8 to 10 times per day my new GS6 will lag and freeze when changing screens or going between applications. I must leave it alone for 15 to 20 seconds until it catches up. Happening to my wife's new GS6 as well.
My one month old S6 Edge fell down last week and the front glass broke. However I used the phone normally until today when I got the display replaced in a store. With an original out of the box display from Samsung. After that I noticed that the back and app key (the lowest touch buttons one the front) did not light up at all, although they did work. When I put the phone in the flip wallet cover it went dark and did not respond anymore. I could here it getting emails or phone calls but the screen kept black.
I pushed Volume Down and Off buttons until it restarted, with normal screen (the touch buttons also lit up for a second) but after loading normally the screen went black again. If I took it out of the wallet cover it lit up, the two keys also lit up, but the keys did not work at all. Again forced restart. Without the wallet cover the phone starts normally and works except that the touch buttons stay black, but they work. The moment I insert it into the cover it goes black. It must have something to do with the magnet sensor?
I first noticed that while I was sending a text message, there are times where I press on the screen to hit a letter, and nothing happens. The letter doesn't show up on the screen. This issue only occurs for a half second or second, since the next letter I hit is shown on the screen. When I finish typing a three page text, and look back through it, there are always 3-5 words that are missing a letter due to this issue.
At first I thought this issue was limited to texting, but I noticed the same thing occurring while using the calculator. Every so often, as I’m hitting numbers to put into the calculator, when I hit the screen to input a number, nothing happens. When I hit the screen a second or so later, it then works. I have also noticed something similar while playing games on my phone. It appears that either my phone is freezing for a second or so on a regular basis, so that it becomes non responsive, or that my screen doesn’t work for a second or so on a regular basis.
I just got an s6 this week and since I've had it the screen will freeze and be unresponsive about every 5-15 minutes. I can get it to work again by going to the lock screen. I'm not sure whether this is something I could fix with a reset or maybe some sort of phone setting, I suspect my phone is faulty. I have restarted it with no change.
Occasionally my N97 displays the out of memory error when I try and look at a new sms (taskman displays at least 34mb free). When that happens ALL my messages disappear, sms, email the lot. Gone.I can sometimes get them back by removing the battery and praying but it doesn't always work.
Both on my s6 and my dad's s6 our keyboards are freezing randomly. It will not type and will stay on the screen (even on home screen etc) until the device is locked and unlocked and sometimes it has to be restarted. I am using Google keyboard and dad is Swiftkey so its unlikely to be the actual keyboard app.
For the past three weeks my S5 has been flickering and the screen will freeze up. When I try to text the screen shakes up and down and I can't type the letters. When I'm on wifi it "seems" to work better, but when I'm not on wifi it's definitely much worse. Any screen that I go into it does this and it's getting worse. Sometimes it will freeze and I just have to leave it for a few minutes before I can do anything on it.
I will have my S5 freeze up and go black after trying to wake it up. My interface and messaging also feels very laggy at times where I pretty much have to wait for it to respond. I had the S view case on when it was freezing so I've removed that but it didn't work. Do you think i should just return this back to AT&T to try and get this replaced?
My s2 keeps freezing, has constant drag and is just being a tad bit annoying.
i bought the phone new, i had rooted it and put a custom rom on. the custom rom ran fine for months so i doubt that is was a dodgy rom. then one day i just started getting these problems. so i took off the rooted rom, and when the problem was still there i unrooted (if that is the term) and rebooted to factory settings. i still have the problem though.
ok so ive rooted my phone and everything is working fine but i go to freeze and app and my phone gets stuck freezing the app. and i have to hard close titanium. but when i go back into it the app is frozen.
Whenever I open Google Maps, the phone starts to lag, freeze and eventually it needs to be rebooted by hard reset. Also the font just goes nuts and characters are gone missing [URL] ...
I was running on Android 5.0.2, then recently upgraded to 5.1.1 but no improvements so far. Did a factory reset a couple of times, booted in safe mode, but the problem keeps on appearing.
I'm experiencing intermittent interruptions in my Wi-Fi signal with the G4, with it starting only in the past 3 days (I don't know what could have triggered this to happen). I have disabled IPV6, updated the router firmware, turned off NFC on my phone, cleared Google Play data, and removed/added my network. I still have the problem. I know it's pretty much a phone issue because my tablet is fine and while I can access my Plex LAN with my tablet, I can't with my phone. So short of a hard reset or waiting on Marshmallow (which may be for a long time, as I'm on Verizon).
I have an Iphone 4s with ios 5.1. I go to college out of the country and therefore use VOIP apps w/ push notification. I noticed that when my screen is off for a few minutes, the phone will not receive push notificaitons right away. (I test this by calling myself) The phone acts like WIFI has gone to sleep, but a few minutes later, it will wake up and show the notification. Another way I can immediately get it to show the notification is to turn the phone on myself. I tried restoring the iphone and turning off cellular data and am having the same problem.
I have had the phone for just about six months, just got it back from Nokia Care services due to the phone freezing and shutting down and restarting on its own. But since I've got it back from Nokia, the phone keeps freezing up and sometimes when I receive calls, I cannot answer the call as the touch screen won't respond. Anyone knows what I can do to fix this as I can't be without my phone for another week like the last time I sent it in for servicing.
I had purchased before one month, in this period my Xperia z2 is performing very poor.first It is getting freezing again and again and secondly what's app like apps are very slow. If I use mobile in slow apps than it get freeze after it i have to restart.
My M7 keeps randomly freezing while in use. It can happen when using pretty much any app, rarely making a call, texting, on the internet etc. When it freezes it keeps trying to reboot and keeps freezing till I manually shut it down for 10 - 20 minutes then restart it.
Broke down and did a factory reset the other night and tried only installing the bare necessities of apps back on after but problem persisted after a few hours. Warranty is gone so I'm wanting to do all the troubleshooting I can on my own before breaking down and paying for repairs.
my phone is keep freezing up (none of the buttons or touch screen work). I have tried returning it to factory settings, and also tried updating to the latest software, but nothing is working. Are there any other things i can try?
Periodically I use Google Voice on the stock keyboard to text. However I noticed when I try to exit Google Voice by clicking the "X" the application freezes and I can't exit until it times out.
I got the Edge a month ago. I transferred across from an iPhone - using the Smart Switch app to transfer all of my data across as well.
Since the transfer, the messaging app freezes, becomes unresponsive or is incredibly slow (especially in text threads with a lot of messages in this). This means that the keyboard freezes, words/letters won't appear for a while after they have been typed, sometimes the keyboard doesn't appear at all, and the messages thread takes a long time to update.
What can I do about this? How can I stop my messages app freezing so often? I really enjoy the edge, but the fact that I can't message properly (or that it freezes/is so slow) is ruining the phone for me.
so i havn't rooted my s2 yet and i am wondering if what i have been doing is the same as "freezing" apps. i have advanced task killer and i opened the 'hub' apps and selected to disable them.
The ringer on my 6350 sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I had my first 6350 replaced by AT&T for the same reason but now the new one, about 4 months old, has developed the same problem. AT&T agree that the problem is not unusual but have no suggestions to correct and the replacement phone is outside the 3 month warranty. The problem may be related to the media player controls on the front of the phone.
