Occasionally my N97 displays the out of memory error when I try and look at a new sms (taskman displays at least 34mb free). When that happens ALL my messages disappear, sms, email the lot. Gone.I can sometimes get them back by removing the battery and praying but it doesn't always work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI loved going to the phone app, the phone log (center tab) is active and all I had to do to dial someone in the log was to touch the screen. Now when I touch the screen nothing happens!If I hold my finger on the screen for an extended period I get a 6 icon popup offering text, view history, add speed dial, delete, call, or full menu - then if I select call the "call which number" prompt comes up.Previously to the update all I had to do was touch a # or contact in the log and the "call which number" would come up for rapid calls backs, and if it was a single number contact it would just call.Additionally if I select the right contact tab in the phone app and touch a contact it is the same problem - I want the old "instant" call or call which number behavior.

Both times the browser said "No Data Connection".As far as the Market goes, I urge everyone to check their apps, and scroll all the way down to see if you have anything listed under the "Not Installed" section of the market apps.We have two Bionics.. mine only shows 1 app under that section. It lists "VCAST Music" as Not Installed. When you click it, the option is to just "Download". I figure this app was bumped out after the .902 update, that's fine. Just wish it wasn't on the list of my Market Apps as Not Installed all the time.Now my wife's bionic has many more apps listed under the Not Installed section: VZ Navigator for Bionic, Amazon MP3, Street view on Google Maps, VCAST Music, and Videos (by google, inc.) - all listed under "Not installed".
I clicked on the Navigator, and it allowed me to update that. It vanished from that list and went into the Installed section. As for the other apps listed there, there is no option to install, uninstall, or update.. only "Open" ..so they are actually installed even though they are listed under the Not installed section.Of course I closed the Market, cleared the cache, etc. They will not leave that section. When I sign into the Market direct from PC Browser they are listed there as Installed.I tried to uninstall Google Maps updates and reinstall, but the Street View addon remains under Not Installed.Markets on both phones were always wacked out even before .893 and the intial release. Sometimes it would list 60 apps installed, 58 apps, 59 apps, whatever it felt like when checking for Market Updates over different days of the week. Now it seems stable with the same # of apps listed as installed everytime I check, but just those important ones listed under Not Installed are a little annoying. or will this just work itself out when the developers push an updated version of those apps.I do not want to factory reset yet again. Both phones seem to be running normal even with this little issue.
I have my (stock) phone app set up to announce an incoming caller's name (if a contact) or phone number (if not). Lately (ever since the update to .83 I think, but I can't be 100% sure) this has gone weird on me, announcing "Call from <caller's name or number>...head north...head north...." Because I always do what my phone tells me to I am now seriously considering moving to Canada.It's an inconsequential problem at worst, but I just thought I'd report it here. It is always the same: two repetitions of "head north." Note that Navigation is not loaded or running when this occurs (according to both "Manage Applications" under Settings, and also Task Manager), and GPS is not on. Clearly, something in text-to-speech is corrupted. [Edit:] The problem continues to occur after reboot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing intermittent interruptions in my Wi-Fi signal with the G4, with it starting only in the past 3 days (I don't know what could have triggered this to happen). I have disabled IPV6, updated the router firmware, turned off NFC on my phone, cleared Google Play data, and removed/added my network. I still have the problem. I know it's pretty much a phone issue because my tablet is fine and while I can access my Plex LAN with my tablet, I can't with my phone. So short of a hard reset or waiting on Marshmallow (which may be for a long time, as I'm on Verizon).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently had intermittent freezing on the phone -- in apps (new and old), on the lock screen, on the launcher. After searching the Web, I did everything recommended--numerous soft resets, a couple of hard resets, consulted Samsung's technical chat room, took the phone to Samsung's local kiosk for a forced software update--nothing worked and the end result was that Samsung said it was a hardware problem and that I needed to send the phone in to Samsung for a look at the hardware. Before doing that, I looked at the system and saw that it did not show any storage information for the SD card. I replaced the SD card and it fixed the problem--the phone is operating just fine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation if somewhere along the line someone had thought to look at the SD card -- apparently a bad SD card can cause system instability on the S5.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Iphone 4s with ios 5.1. I go to college out of the country and therefore use VOIP apps w/ push notification. I noticed that when my screen is off for a few minutes, the phone will not receive push notificaitons right away. (I test this by calling myself) The phone acts like WIFI has gone to sleep, but a few minutes later, it will wake up and show the notification. Another way I can immediately get it to show the notification is to turn the phone on myself. I tried restoring the iphone and turning off cellular data and am having the same problem.

The ringer on my 6350 sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I had my first 6350 replaced by AT&T for the same reason but now the new one, about 4 months old, has developed the same problem. AT&T agree that the problem is not unusual but have no suggestions to correct and the replacement phone is outside the 3 month warranty. The problem may be related to the media player controls on the front of the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 6P has the bootloader unlocked but is running completely stock, un-rooted, vanilla android (MDB08M). Project Fi is my carrier. When I am at home and on *most* wireless networks, I see no issue. While I am at work, my wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects. I will pick up my phone, and it will either A) not have wifi (though I have previously been connected) and quickly reconnects or B) Will have wifi, but after some amount of use, will disconnect from wifi, then reconnect a few seconds later.
I've tried all the simple items:Making sure "Keep wifi on during sleep" or whatever the setting is is turned on turn off optimization on Google Connectivity Services
I turned on verbose wifi logs and was able to catch a logcat of when the issue occured. The disconnect occured at almost exactly 9:29:00, as I saw my wifi go out and then almost immediately after the clock tick 9:29.
I can't find anything in particular that stands out as the cause or leads to a solution.
I assume it is some misunderstanding between my job's wireless network and my phone. My previous phone (Nexus 4) had none of these issues. I am unclear on whether this is a Marshmallow issue, Project Fi issue, or what software might be causing it. Since it only happens on this certain network, I am making the assumption it is most likely software and not a faulty wireless chip. I have no control over the wireless configuration of the network, so anything on that end is a non-starter.

I have a hard time tethering from XOOM to Laptop, after I reinstalled my Window VISTA laptop, and since I upgraded XOOM to 4G. I don't know whether it is 4G upgrade or VISTA that causes the problem. Sometime, it works the first attempt to connect, the other time i have to reboot my laptop a couple of times.My remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device driver is current. My Laptop saw XOOM drive fine no problem( I did installed Motorola Driver). And I attempted to do a soft reboot (Vol up + Power button), it shown the battery level and hung there for a long time (1 to 2 minutes maybe). I think i don't know how to do a soft reboot the right way.However, I can tether to my laptop, but i have to reboot my laptop a couple times. I did try to unplug and replug the USB cable and then set xoom to tethering/hot spot in both wifi and 3g/4g. It failed to connect unless I reboot the machine.My xoom is 3.2.2 with HLK75D build number.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else intermittently getting a pop-up alert on their i4 Safari that states "Cannot Open Page Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"?I only get this on 3G and not WiFi and it's intermittent but frequent enough to be a hassle. It's happening on a number of websites. I have erased my unit and restored and even erased my i4 and did a fresh setup and get the same results. If I try to open the same website in Opera, it opens fine. Five minutes later, the site will typically open up in Safari. My wife's 3GS with iOS4 does not seem to have this issue.Apps using 3G do not seem to have this intermittent issue, they never have a problem communicating. The only other issue I see is the Apps Store will intermittently come back with a "can't connect error". I have seen a few people post the same Safari issue on the Apple support forums but I am surprised to see no one here mentioning it, making me wonder if it's my phone or AT&T. I am on the 2 gig data plan since I added this phone as a new line vs. replacing my 3GS line (that line and phone are going to someone else).

Can anyone shed light on why I have intermittent trouble in disconnecting calls? It doesn't happen with every call but is frequent enough to make me wonder if there is a problem with my phone.The phone still shows that I am in "active call" status even after I've pressed the disconnect button up to as many as 5 times.Customer svc. at store told me to try shutting the phone off periodically and maybe it will reset; however it isn't like I leave it on continuously.

Now at first i tought it was my router, so i got another one and still the same thing. it does this not just at home but to any wifi network. im pretty sure this is a hardware related problem, however it could be software also, i have gotin noware execpet from Moto Send your phone in, so in about 2 to 3 weeks ill have it back with no way of having a phone, plus ill still have to pay at&t, second at&t have never hered of the atrix 2 having wifi problems and offered to exchange the device for my warrenty deductable of $150.00, what should i do, i would also like to here from the community to see if there are anyone else with the same problems se we can address these to Motorola and At&T.

Prior to this all was working fine, never a problem til now.I took my sister's sim card [Rogers] and placed into the BB, and it worked fine, was on the EDGE network but didn't drop or anything.Also I am unable to view the "Network Technology" in the Mobile Network Options. I started with an intermittent text receiving issue a couple of days ago. Text will work fine, then they stop. After the that the only way to get them working again is a reboot. Called VZW, they ran tests on their side, etc. I'm thinking this is on the phone side.
This morning, the text app is giving me the "resuming" msg. and also started crashing. Also some other apps are crashing like looking at pictures.
Seems like a hard reset is needed here? I'm out of town, won't be back for 2 weeks. Need the phone to work, so if I hard reset, will I be in a need of a wifi to get the phone operational again?
In order to keep safe the USB port, I use a magnetic charging cable. Days ago I've try to use the USB port and the behavior was weird, each 2 seconds the connection change between USB and Magnetic Port (Fake)... then the battery starts to discharge very fast, becomes hot and stop the charging. USB Connection with PC have no problems and the charging with Magnetic Port is also right... I already tryed to restart the phone, and flash a new firmware.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 500 with Belle installed (vers: 111.021.0028) and Nokia Suite vers 3.6.36.On the 17.12.2012 I've installed the latest version of Romania maps: 00.02.47.103 and since then I get the same error message 'car navigation cannot start at this location'. I can access the maps, I get the correct position but the problem occurs when I try to navigate to any address. It doesn't seem to have an actual issue with the location because I've tried several locations in Bucharest and got the same error.
