Galaxy S5 :: Intermittent Freezing On Phone
Nov 20, 2015I recently had intermittent freezing on the phone -- in apps (new and old), on the lock screen, on the launcher. After searching the Web, I did everything recommended--numerous soft resets, a couple of hard resets, consulted Samsung's technical chat room, took the phone to Samsung's local kiosk for a forced software update--nothing worked and the end result was that Samsung said it was a hardware problem and that I needed to send the phone in to Samsung for a look at the hardware. Before doing that, I looked at the system and saw that it did not show any storage information for the SD card. I replaced the SD card and it fixed the problem--the phone is operating just fine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation if somewhere along the line someone had thought to look at the SD card -- apparently a bad SD card can cause system instability on the S5.

When that happens ALL my messages disappear, sms, email the lot. Gone.I can sometimes get them back by removing the battery and praying but it doesn't always work.

Dec 20, 2015I'm experiencing intermittent interruptions in my Wi-Fi signal with the G4, with it starting only in the past 3 days (I don't know what could have triggered this to happen). I have disabled IPV6, updated the router firmware, turned off NFC on my phone, cleared Google Play data, and removed/added my network. I still have the problem. I know it's pretty much a phone issue because my tablet is fine and while I can access my Plex LAN with my tablet, I can't with my phone. So short of a hard reset or waiting on Marshmallow (which may be for a long time, as I'm on Verizon).

Mar 25, 2012I have an Iphone 4s with ios 5.1. I go to college out of the country and therefore use VOIP apps w/ push notification. I noticed that when my screen is off for a few minutes, the phone will not receive push notificaitons right away. (I test this by calling myself) The phone acts like WIFI has gone to sleep, but a few minutes later, it will wake up and show the notification. Another way I can immediately get it to show the notification is to turn the phone on myself. I tried restoring the iphone and turning off cellular data and am having the same problem.

Jul 5, 2011The ringer on my 6350 sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I had my first 6350 replaced by AT&T for the same reason but now the new one, about 4 months old, has developed the same problem. AT&T agree that the problem is not unusual but have no suggestions to correct and the replacement phone is outside the 3 month warranty. The problem may be related to the media player controls on the front of the phone.

Dec 2, 2015My Nexus 6P has the bootloader unlocked but is running completely stock, un-rooted, vanilla android (MDB08M). Project Fi is my carrier. When I am at home and on *most* wireless networks, I see no issue. While I am at work, my wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects. I will pick up my phone, and it will either A) not have wifi (though I have previously been connected) and quickly reconnects or B) Will have wifi, but after some amount of use, will disconnect from wifi, then reconnect a few seconds later.
I've tried all the simple items:Making sure "Keep wifi on during sleep" or whatever the setting is is turned on turn off optimization on Google Connectivity Services
I turned on verbose wifi logs and was able to catch a logcat of when the issue occured. The disconnect occured at almost exactly 9:29:00, as I saw my wifi go out and then almost immediately after the clock tick 9:29.
I can't find anything in particular that stands out as the cause or leads to a solution.
I assume it is some misunderstanding between my job's wireless network and my phone. My previous phone (Nexus 4) had none of these issues. I am unclear on whether this is a Marshmallow issue, Project Fi issue, or what software might be causing it. Since it only happens on this certain network, I am making the assumption it is most likely software and not a faulty wireless chip. I have no control over the wireless configuration of the network, so anything on that end is a non-starter.

Oct 29, 2011I have a hard time tethering from XOOM to Laptop, after I reinstalled my Window VISTA laptop, and since I upgraded XOOM to 4G. I don't know whether it is 4G upgrade or VISTA that causes the problem. Sometime, it works the first attempt to connect, the other time i have to reboot my laptop a couple of times.My remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device driver is current. My Laptop saw XOOM drive fine no problem( I did installed Motorola Driver). And I attempted to do a soft reboot (Vol up + Power button), it shown the battery level and hung there for a long time (1 to 2 minutes maybe). I think i don't know how to do a soft reboot the right way.However, I can tether to my laptop, but i have to reboot my laptop a couple times. I did try to unplug and replug the USB cable and then set xoom to tethering/hot spot in both wifi and 3g/4g. It failed to connect unless I reboot the machine.My xoom is 3.2.2 with HLK75D build number.

Jun 28, 2010Is anyone else intermittently getting a pop-up alert on their i4 Safari that states "Cannot Open Page Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"?I only get this on 3G and not WiFi and it's intermittent but frequent enough to be a hassle. It's happening on a number of websites. I have erased my unit and restored and even erased my i4 and did a fresh setup and get the same results. If I try to open the same website in Opera, it opens fine. Five minutes later, the site will typically open up in Safari. My wife's 3GS with iOS4 does not seem to have this issue.Apps using 3G do not seem to have this intermittent issue, they never have a problem communicating. The only other issue I see is the Apps Store will intermittently come back with a "can't connect error". I have seen a few people post the same Safari issue on the Apple support forums but I am surprised to see no one here mentioning it, making me wonder if it's my phone or AT&T. I am on the 2 gig data plan since I added this phone as a new line vs. replacing my 3GS line (that line and phone are going to someone else).

May 29, 2012suddenly, friday of three day memorial holiday iphone internet connections are off or down. can no longer do search using bing, google or yahoo. debug console "no errors" error i get is "cannot open because server stopped respondig." i have had times could not connect to Internet ( i now appear to have lost Internet favorites that were there yesterday. itunes and app store connections fail. yahoo weather and the weather channel has also failed. ap and my yahoo have failed. facebook and pandora have almost always worked, well i think pandora failed once. i checked carrier, i never changed anything like this and all are correct.i do not see dns options.i have had this 3g version 4.2.1 for years now without this problem. i did not travel out of country in fact have not left present location. i may have deleted a datatbase in safari that were old. i reset network connection, shutdown phone some things may work for a while but there are still features in safari that fail such as search. did i pick up malware>

Motorola Atrix 2 :: Intermittent Trouble In Disconnecting Calls?
Dec 8, 2011Can anyone shed light on why I have intermittent trouble in disconnecting calls? It doesn't happen with every call but is frequent enough to make me wonder if there is a problem with my phone.The phone still shows that I am in "active call" status even after I've pressed the disconnect button up to as many as 5 times.Customer svc. at store told me to try shutting the phone off periodically and maybe it will reset; however it isn't like I leave it on continuously.

Dec 28, 2011Have an Atrix 2, ive had this phone for about 3 months now and since last month ive been having with the wifi turning off by itself, or shows being connected and its not. Now at first i tought it was my router, so i got another one and still the same thing. it does this not just at home but to any wifi network. im pretty sure this is a hardware related problem, however it could be software also, i have gotin noware execpet from Moto Send your phone in, so in about 2 to 3 weeks ill have it back with no way of having a phone, plus ill still have to pay at&t, second at&t have never hered of the atrix 2 having wifi problems and offered to exchange the device for my warrenty deductable of $150.00, what should i do, i would also like to here from the community to see if there are anyone else with the same problems se we can address these to Motorola and At&T.

Lumia Icon :: Intermittent Text Messages And Apps Crashing
Aug 7, 2015I started with an intermittent text receiving issue a couple of days ago. Text will work fine, then they stop. After the that the only way to get them working again is a reboot. Called VZW, they ran tests on their side, etc. I'm thinking this is on the phone side.
This morning, the text app is giving me the "resuming" msg. and also started crashing. Also some other apps are crashing like looking at pictures.
Seems like a hard reset is needed here? I'm out of town, won't be back for 2 weeks. Need the phone to work, so if I hard reset, will I be in a need of a wifi to get the phone operational again?

Jan 7, 2015In order to keep safe the USB port, I use a magnetic charging cable. Days ago I've try to use the USB port and the behavior was weird, each 2 seconds the connection change between USB and Magnetic Port (Fake)... then the battery starts to discharge very fast, becomes hot and stop the charging. USB Connection with PC have no problems and the charging with Magnetic Port is also right... I already tryed to restart the phone, and flash a new firmware.

Aug 21, 2015I just got a G920F from an aunt at UK, so I have a Vodafone version of the phone, but when I received it, every app is crashing, I mean every app. Like Facebook, Google Play, Google+, Messenger, Instagram, everything.
I tried flashing the stock rom so I flashed G920FXXU2POGJ, a vodafone 5.1.1 stock rom and it still crashes. Btw the camera doesn't crash so it's okay. But everytime I use facebook, shareit, app crashes. So, flashing the stock rom wasn't useful. The next thing I did was flashing G920FXXU2BOFJ, a UK international 5.1.1, because I assume I cant downgrade the android version (just like in i9505). and everything still crashes.
