As a former 3GS user, I am missing what appear to be 2 functions unavailable on the SII: 1 - the ability to select "shuffle" for random music play; and2 - nusic settings (e.g. bass) are not retained, and have to be re-selected each time I start the music player again. Is this just me not knowing where to look, or are those functions really not available on the SII?
I've just switched from iPhone and I must say the android world is a little less intuitive. I cannot find a way to select the image and copy to the clipboard to paste in the email application. Am I missing an option to enable it somehow.
I was wondering if one can manage photos on one's phone? In other words, I would like to move photos from one folder to another, or even create a new folder and move photos from one folder to another.
Is there a way to move installed apps to the internal 12gb of storage? If I go to manage the app and click "move to sd card" I get an error saying there isn't enough space. I don't have an external sd card in the phone, so this may be why. The problem is I don't want the apps going to an external card, I want to use up the internal storage.
On my nexus s, the button said "move to usb" instead of "move to sd"...
don't say things like, 'why do you need more than 2gb for apps' or 'buy an sd card'.
I notice a new type of storage is introduced called USB Storage. I expect this is the equivalent of the internal SD card of the old SGS. Now when I click on the "Move to SD" button on any of the apps, I get the message "Failed to move application: Not enough memory"
My USB storage currently has 11.42GB. So can onyone shed light as to where I am going wrong here?
And what is the logic of Samsung changing internal SD storage into USB Storage?
I am new to this forum and the Samsung Galaxy S2. When I download anything from my PC onto the phone it goes straight into My Files. I cannot then get anything in My Files to save to a ringtone or notification?
My problem is I want to play music from my samsung via usb in my van.My old htc I just connected my usb and the vans media player detected it and played from my sd card, but i cant seem to do the same with the galaxy s2.I have been looking on the net and getting everything from it cant be done to buying fm transmitters?

I was wondering what is the besr way to organize compilation for music. i have some that i listen to but i also have lots of albums by a single artist. when i view my music by artist i end up with hundreds of artists with only one track. i know on an iphone if you select "part of a compklation" they wont show on the artist page. Is ghere a way to do this on the galaxy? Or what is just the best way to organize music that contains compilations?:
So my music player in my s2 LTE is constantly having problems. At random, it will do any one of the following; pause, mute, go full volume and skip songs. This can happen while in my pocket, it can happen when the phone is stationary and not being touched. Motion controls are off. I've downloaded several other music apps and they all do the same thing. I've tried using other headphones. Sometimes it won't happen for a very long time and its no big deal, but sometimes it just constantly pauses or skips songs and makes it more of a hassle than it is worth to listen to music on my phone. It's been happening pretty much since I got the phone in mid December.
I'm looking for a decent music player and have tried several apps out, but in the process I decided I didn't like my music files being in /sdcard/media/music as I'd loaded 'em initially... So I moved them to /external_sd/music, only to find some apps wouldn't allow me to access the external card...
So I moved them all back, to /sdcard/music/ now, and only ONE app out of three will actually find and play them. The other apps are convinced all my old files still exist, no matter how many times I verify that both the SD card and internal SD memory have had those files removed.
So it seems that there's some sort of internal OS-level library or database of my music files that's not being refreshed no matter how many times I reboot the phone or rescan all my libraries. I can find the new files fine, select them in a file browser and play them with any installed music app (so I know it's POSSIBLE for them to see the files!) but they simply won't add them to their library or delete the old ones.
Is there an easy,non-complicated way to transfer music from my laptop (Toshiba...) to my SGS2 ? Replies gratefully recieved by this 'mature' person who is almost totally computer/SGS2 illiterate.
Before updating to the official ics, I uploaded my music to Dropbox. Yesterday, I downloaded it back onto the phone. Today, I tried to listen to music but music player said "does not support this type of file".
maybe its just me that cant seem to get this, I got my galaxy S II on saturday added my songs from my other phone on it and every thing was fine but about two days ago I noticed for all my songs without the actual album image on it, shows just one picture on all its display.Like have got a song titled Surrender by Barlow girls but the picture on it when I try playing the song is Britt Nicole's lost & found album, and its like that for hundreds of my songs and I just find it extremely annoying.
I got a new (2012) car with BlueTooth. When I initiate pairing, I'm asked for 4-digit code displayed on the car. But before I can enter that code, the formular/screen exits and it says "Unable to connect" on my SGS2. Tried it 10 times with same result. After that it does actually connect (and works) with phone. But the music streaming is not an option. My other car has a Sony stereo which the SGS2 connects just fine to, both phone and music.i guess it's a compatibility issue between ICS BT and my new car's BT. What can I do besides cry at the car-dealer (where he will laugh and tell me to get another phone)?
I had lots of music in my galaxy s2 phone memory and then moved it all over to the sd card when I bought one. Now when I open up the music player (the standard one that came bundled up with the phone) I get 2 of every track when I open up an album, one track plays and the other one gets the message " the player does not support this type of file". I have completely deleted the whole music folder from the phone memory so where is the phone finding these duplicate files that will not play and how do I get rid of them
Also even though I find the music player that's already installed on the S2 perfectly good for my purposes are there any alternatives available if I wanted to change players?
