View 1 RepliesI can play the files through the file manager but not the google play or the default music player. I have even downloaded third party music players with no luck. I tried moving the files around to the default music folder, and even the folder with the samsung song that came with the phone. No luck.
My last phone (nexus 4) recognized the files instantly, even found the album art and organized all of them no matter where the files were located. I really don't understand what the problem is, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade.
Would putting the files on a micro SD card work at all?
just wondering where the APK files are stored on the SGSii when you download them from the AM. You see I have Amazon Mobile on my phone but my Galaxy 10.1 tab can't seem to get it in the AM.I was going to have a go at copying the APK across and seeing if I could get it to install that way but obviously need to know where to find them first. I am rooted and have root explorer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone since April and has recently started to experience a lot of problems with the handset. I'm best mentioning that my technical know-how is very limited in terms of phones, but I've accepted the fact I'm going to have to run a factory reset on my phone. So the problems I'm experiencing:- All of a sudden, apps start crashing one after the other. So much so that I can't even turn the phone off properly and just have to hold the power button down until it goes off itself.- Sometimes it just freezes, and when it does, it rapidly drains the battery.- Other times it just randomly decides to turn itself off (this has happened during the night resulting in me sleeping in for work because my alarm has failed to go off!)- When apps have crashed and I've had to turn it on and off again, all information stored (ie. texts, photos, Twitter feed) after the 16th October is gone!I've even went on Kies Air to start transferring photos, videos, etc. to my laptop, but even that keeps crashing, meaning it constantly disconnects from the laptop. I cleared out a lot of old apps I don't use anymore, but they reappear when I turn it back on, resetting back to pre-16th October like I mentioned.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung S5 and since installing the 5.0 lollipop my stored music will play a few seconds the I get a message "couldn't play the track requested." All my music stored on the SD card came from a CD ripped into my laptop, and then moved into the phone onto my card. How do I fix this so my music plays normal as before the lollipop upgrade.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI`m having this strange issue that happens regardless of what battery I put in the phone it seems. If I turn my phone off and want to turn it back on I cannot regardless of the battery level of the phone. I keep getting the exclamation mark start screen whenever I try after turning my phone off.
Just like the one below (it is not my phone in the picture, I just want to show you the exclamation mark warning message I get everytime), indicating it is overheated, but it can`t be overheated EVERY time I try to turn the phone off and back on? [URL]
However if I turn the phone off and plug in the charger I have no problem at all.
I put a custom ROM on my GS2 for the first time, it involved updating a kernel.
However I really don't like the custom rom I installed and now I want to go back to the stock ROM but with the samsung stuff froze/removed.
I'm not sure where to download the stock ROM's from and I'm not sure if I need to change the kernels again.
I have connected my SGS2 to Kies in my laptop. Then I quit from Kies and started using my phone (leaving my phone charging via USB). Now, when I start Kies once again, it says device not connected and my phone is not is Kies mode. If I replug my USB at either end (laptop or mobile) it goes to Kies mode and connecting fine.
My doubt here is, how do I reconnect to Kies in laptop without replug my USB, once after I quit from Kies mode in my phone.
Is there any way I can tell my phone to go to Kies mode?
After I did a back-up, our IMO department wiped data on my BB so e-mail settings could be changed.I imported the back-up files but, none of the passwords stored in the password keeper applications came back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having a few problems with my phone lately. Sometimes when I start the unit up in the morning no icons appear on my home screen although when I go into my apps they are all there. I would have to restart the phone a couple of times before everything would appear. Now I seem to have a permanent problem the touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of my phone for getting to the settings and the 'back' button do not light any more, but they do function.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have installed Kies 3 twice but still get the same problem. The back up from my Galaxy S5 appears to go well until I look into the folders created on my computer in Kies. It has backed up some things but most folders either have nothing in them or have file types that I can't open on my computer, which I guess are Samsung files. Surely if I have downloaded Kies specifically to back everything on the phone up, the software will have the ability to open these file types?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Gingerbread UGKG2. When I first started swyping I'll admit I didn't really know what I was doing. I'd correct a word and if it said "would you like to add 'es' to the dictionary" (or whatever I had typed in) I just said yes. Now it keeps putting in these non-words and I can't get rid of them. I've seen the threads where people point out where the dictionary is found in other O/S's but not this one. I've also seen people post that you just highlight the word and you'll have the option of deleting it from the dictionary, no so on my phone..
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wondering, does anybody find on the s2 that the soft back key doesn't always respond? I'm sometimes having to tap mine several times before it responds and it's driving me bonkers.
Also, I have noticed that the android os is high on this phone and the strange thing is, the percentage seems to go up when the phone isn't actually being used for anything, as in, sat idle for a few hours. Just wondering what the average percentage should actually be with this phone.
My battery life is rubbish too. Thursday and Friday, it was fine but I didn't use the phone much at all. Today it was fine until 6pm, again, didn't really use the phone but this evening, I have been texting and it dropped 40% in three hours and I've had to put it on charge.
I'm not happy with this and will be contacting Samsung on Monday but before I do, would be interested to hear what other people are experiencing with the android os and back key. Battery life is more or less irrelevant as that varies from person to person according to usage. I'm just disappointed as I seldom had to charge my galaxy s before bedtime unless I tethered, which I hadn't done today until I had to put the phone on charge.
I can't access my setting menu, press the left "button" and the settings option is there I press it and the menu pops up for about a second then goes back to the home screen, if I go in through apps menu its the same, its a stock S2 about a month old on T mobile uk.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave a Galaxy S2 on Sprint network and out of nowhere yesterday the home/menu/back/search buttons stopped working and the phone is running really slow. It came back for like 5 min yesterday afternoon but then started again. I've already done the factory reset and it's still the same way. If I press the call, message, contact buttons on the home screen nothing works. Can someone tell me what to do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDuring the last six months of so the problems with the hires camera in my SGS2 have turned from being just really annoying to fatal. Earlier, my camera or the firmware/software had poor abilities to focus the picture correctly giving blurry and random results. Later on, the saving or processing of the photos right after shooting were stopped by crashing of the samsung Camera software. This happened by camera app giving error message and then shutting down itself. Finally, after the firmware update (I9100XWLPG) about a week ago the camera has totally stopped working. The application shows no live picture and crashes after 10-15 sec. I cannot access the settings and the only thing the application does is that it turns the icons on screen along with the rotation of the phone.
