View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone since black friday, and just yesterday started having a strange problem with it. It was in my pocket and it vibrated once so I checked what it was and it said "MTP initialization" at the top and "Charging" at the bottom, which is what it does when I plug it into my computer or charge it. It seemed weird to me because it definitely wasn't plugged into anything at all, it was in my pocket. When I got home, I plugged it into the charger for about 2 hours.then when I unplugged it, it did the same thing, but it kept doing it. It'd look like I plugged it into my computer when I didn't, and then a few seconds later the "charging" and everything would go away and it would say "Running Media Scanner" which is what it says whenever I unplug it from the computer. Since that time yesterday, it has literally been doing this every few seconds, cycling between thinking it's plugged into a computer and then being unplugged. In addition, for a while yesterday, the Voice Command kept opening and closing on it's own, not sure why. It seems to have stopped doing that now, but it keeps doing the charging/media scanning thing. I can actually use it when it's doing this thing, it just keeps vibrating every few seconds which gets annoying, and slows the phone down a little bit. But when the voice command thing kept opening and closing every few seconds, it was almost unusable because every time I'd try to do something, it'd cut out and go to the voice command.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLots of complaints from the other end of my calls that my voice cuts out and then comes back, and during the cut-out time there is noise on the line. Can't find anything relevant to Galaxy 6 edge and this problem. Already changed the phone once as I though it was a device specific issue, but appears to be something I'm doing or a setting maybe?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am searching for a free apps - voice guided navigation using gps in Samsung galaxy s2. bought samsung galaxy s2 recently.y friend, a die hard fan of Apple's products showed me his I Phone4 with a newly downloaded apps (Sygic- a voice guided navigation system).FYI, Apple's IPhone / IPad is able to download the Voice guided GPS navigation Apps (Sygic) and use it for free. Users can also update the maps from time to time. *After apple users 'jail-break' their devices, they are able to download many apps for free, including Sygic*ut for Samsung GS2 / Tab users, they are only able to download Sygic and use it for trial periods of 7 days.Subsequently, they have to pay $$.Now I am facing this problem, the apps keep asking me to key in the activation code which I will be getting the code after paying them.
So, i am searching everywhere for the similar apps (free apps), but couldn't get.The preloaded apps in my SGS2 when i bought are Google Maps, Navigate (a blue triangle icon). "Navigate" is good and accurate, but the only thing is there is no turn-by-turn (tbt)voice guidance. I prefer to have a tbt voice guidance as I don't have to look at my phone and I can concentrate more on the road / traffic while i am driving.
The following questions are probably more Android-related in general, and not SGSII - specific. But as the SGSII is my first Android smartphone, please bear it with me and try to explain everything in layman's terms 1. In Contacts, what exactly does the "Merge with Google" option do (apart from displaying that little "g" icon next to a contact)? Also, after using it, I don't see to be able to revert the action - is it still possible?. Is it only possible to synchronize my Contacts with my Google account after the above mentioned "Merge with Google" action has been applied, or are they completely separate? E.g. if I add a new contact to my Phone, will it get synchronized with Google even if I don't Merge it with Google first?
3. Is it possible to also synchronize other contacts (like those from Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) in order to store them on my Google account for safety reasons4. Does the Google contacts synchronization work also the other direction, i.e. after I edit My Contacts on my Google accont, can I just use "Synchronize" in the SGSII to update the Phone contacts? Or do I need to delete all Contacts from my Phone first, and only then synchronize to the current Google version?5. I write messages/emails in English as often as I do in Polish. When I set Polish as the input language in Voice Recognition settings, and happen to compose a message in English using voice recognition, it often happens some Polish words are generated (and vice versa). I thought it would be logical if - apart from the global input language setting - the keyboard input language settings (changeable via the Space bar) - would eliminate the problem (ie. the VR engine should expect and use only English words when the keyboard is set to Eng, and so on) - but it doesn't seem to work.
I would like to toggle between different languages without having to select "Settings / Voice Input and Output / Voice Recognition Settings / Language". This would allow me to easily toggle between English and German, for 'voice to text' recognition. Is there a toggle action/application that allows the selection of more then one language and swapping between them similarly to swiping the space bar on the keyboard?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy S II has the annoying habit of having its screen go into idle or sleep mode and then blacken when I'm on a call. I want to have the "Phone" screen showing up at all times when I'm on a call, so I can access the speakerphone, etc. Is there a way to "lock" the screen in "Phone" mode when I'm on a call?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I dock my s2 on my vehicle dock it automatically launches voice talk and starts listening for commands.
This is very annoying as it just ends up trying to listen to whatever music the radio is playing and then tries to work out what I want it to do.
I want it to sit there, charge and shut up lol... If I want voice activation i will launch that myself.
How do I get the menu button back on the galaxy s6? It is frustrating that I could not access menu on the apps I use. how to ditch that overly useless multitasking button with a menu button?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI`m having this strange issue that happens regardless of what battery I put in the phone it seems. If I turn my phone off and want to turn it back on I cannot regardless of the battery level of the phone. I keep getting the exclamation mark start screen whenever I try after turning my phone off.
Just like the one below (it is not my phone in the picture, I just want to show you the exclamation mark warning message I get everytime), indicating it is overheated, but it can`t be overheated EVERY time I try to turn the phone off and back on? [URL]
However if I turn the phone off and plug in the charger I have no problem at all.
I put a custom ROM on my GS2 for the first time, it involved updating a kernel.
However I really don't like the custom rom I installed and now I want to go back to the stock ROM but with the samsung stuff froze/removed.
I'm not sure where to download the stock ROM's from and I'm not sure if I need to change the kernels again.
I have connected my SGS2 to Kies in my laptop. Then I quit from Kies and started using my phone (leaving my phone charging via USB). Now, when I start Kies once again, it says device not connected and my phone is not is Kies mode. If I replug my USB at either end (laptop or mobile) it goes to Kies mode and connecting fine.
My doubt here is, how do I reconnect to Kies in laptop without replug my USB, once after I quit from Kies mode in my phone.
Is there any way I can tell my phone to go to Kies mode?

Sometimes when I start the unit up in the morning no icons appear on my home screen although when I go into my apps they are all there. I would have to restart the phone a couple of times before everything would appear. Now I seem to have a permanent problem the touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of my phone for getting to the settings and the 'back' button do not light any more, but they do function.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I tap the phone icon I am presented with ALL activity (calls and SMS) listed by the name of the person called/messaged. I'd like to see just the phone calls I have made/received.
Is there any way to separate these two lists?
I just upgraded to ICS and now my call log screen shows all the incoming text messages I've received as well as the calls. This is the case in both Go Dialer, which I normally use and the native samsumg dialer.
what setting I need to change to make it just show calls again?
