When I dock my s2 on my vehicle dock it automatically launches voice talk and starts listening for commands.
This is very annoying as it just ends up trying to listen to whatever music the radio is playing and then tries to work out what I want it to do.
I want it to sit there, charge and shut up lol... If I want voice activation i will launch that myself.
Have a severe focus delay when launching the camera?? It takes my camera (& gf's) about 10 seconds to focus. It's like the camera is set on macro when it opens.

Please forgive me if there is an existing thread.I want to get a case for my Droid Razr Maxx HD, but I also want to keep using my Vehicle Navigation Dock. Does anyone know of / own a case for the Razr Maxx HD that still allows the phone to fit in the dock? I don't want to have to pull the case off to dock it every time I get in the car.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the Jelly Bean update I want to throw the vehicle mount out the window almost every day! they removed any way to get to your home screens while the phone is mounted in the vehicle dock.When the phone is docked in a Motorola vehicle mount the phones "Home" button always takes you to the Vehicle Dock software rather than your home screen. In the past that was fine because the Vehcile Dock software provided another way to get to your home screen. Before the Jelly Bean update, when the phone was docked you just tapped the home icon in the lower left corner of the Vehicle Dock application. Now after the Jelly Bean update that home icon has been replaced with a back button. That button now takes you to the last active app rather than the home screen (something you could also do by touching the "recent apps" button).
This works fine to take you to the home screen if that was the last thing you were doing before mounting the phone in the vehicle dock and you haven't started any other app. Once you start doing something like navigating to a location, the back button will just take you to that running app. Is there a way to get to your home screens without removing the phone from the dock? Or, Is there an app that will just take you to your home screen, as if you had touched the phones "home" button? I could add that as one of the 6 apps that can be added to the Vehicle Dock application.
I am getting used to my s6. Sometimes I am driving and there could be an accident and I need to try and grab my phone and put it in the phone holder in my car then navigate to google maps to find an alternate route by hand. I am wondering if I could make this easier by doing some of this with my voice. I know it is possible to search a specific place after pressing the voice icon manually after launching google maps, but is there a way so I can just put the phone in the car holder then use my voice to launch maps and say what my destination is?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I use the Vehicle Nav Dock a lot. I live in NC, where we've had record heat (6 days straight of 103+ temps) and I leave my dock suction cupped to my windshield. Probably not the smartest idea as now the dock itself is warped and I have to give it a little bit of elbow grease to get it to lock in and connect.It hasn't lost any functionality and I love the new look of the dock and the ability to access any of your apps from the nav screen with the ICS update.

I wanted to update to ICS Android 4.0 on my Orange branded S2 NFC. I was told by Orange support to download Kies. I did, had a few problems getting the phone to connect to the software including a few driver crashes. After it finally connected, it offered me ICS which I accepted. But every time I have downloaded the update it then fails saying "Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occurred."
I have uninstalled kies and the driver from my PC (windows 7 home premium 32bit) and reinstalled to no effect. Turned off the phone, taken out the battery, turned off wi-fi and data.
If it wasn't for the fact the orange "signal boost" app has been quite useful in my dead zone of a flat I would root the phone and unbrand it and download the update off the net.
I'm new here, normally wouldn't post anything since I think I can find my own answers, but after digging through this forum I could not find anything that could bring my Samsung Galaxy II back to live, so here it goes..ot this phone yesterday from a friend who recieved a new one, so I thought i was being smart by trying a hard reset to remove all his settings/history/etc.. (I know now i need a usb restore as well, but...) I switched it off, and used Vol Up + Home + Power and it entered the downloading screen and i said: "Yes, reset this thing" it started downloading (I think) so i put it aside.. but I think the battery was running low because when i checked back a couple minutes later everything was black, and has been since.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using a RAZR MAXX HD with the Motorola vehicle dock. I've enabled the Smart Actions for turning on Vehicle Mode when I drop it in the dock, and I like this for the most part. When I get a text message, a popup notifies me that I've received one, and prompts me to "Say listen to hear this message." However, I've only been able to get the damn thing to recognize me saying "listen" once, out of several dozen times this has happened. I don't have an accent (I'm from California) and have a fairly loud voice. Any tricks to getting this to work? I've tried louder, quieter, faster, slower, weird pronunciations, cursing at it... no luck!
I'm pretty certain it's actually picking up me saying "listen" because I see a little popup bubble on the screen saying something like "Waiting for speech" then after I speak it will show "listen listen listen".
For what it's worth, voice input seems to work just fine in any native Google app (search, navigation). It's just the (Moto?) Vehicle Mode ones that hardly ever work.
I downloaded SwiftKey-X...and every time I reboot the phone..the dock first loads some of my apps..usually the last downloaded apps.Example..i switch the phone on, and where my contact/messaging/phone icons are..are now, FireFox, and 2 or others.This eventually fixes itself after about 15 seconds.If i remove SwiftKey, then this doesn't occur at all.

While they say this phone doesn't have GPS capability, I found some menus for LBS (location based services). Some of the test settings appear to reference GPS locations, specifically in Texas. I am not familiar with all of the options and settings in the LBS screen, but is it possible the phone has GPS capability but it's disabled? If so, does anyone know how to enable it or what settings I might try?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHad my SII for 3 days now and am loving it but as of 2 hours ago my screen will no longer auto-rotate.
Earlier, via orange swapables, I was watching skysports with the screen held horizontally with no problems at all. Even after that I was sending a message using swype (what a cool feature by the way), holding it horizontally.
Since then I've not been able to rotate the screen. It is set to on via the notifications panel and under the settings menu.
I've put a new Case Mate Tough Case on as of this morning but was watching the football after I had put the case on. I have since tried removing the case to see if it works without, but with no luck.
I've checked the firmware and stuff and am running all the latest versions.
I've done the keypad *#0*# and checked the sensor test page, accelerometer, gyroscope sensor and magnetic sensor are showing different figures as I move the phone around but the image test does not rotate.
Under settings > display I've ran the calibration tests and they all ran fine.
I have a galaxy s6 and is there anyway to auto play videos on it cut I had this feature on the note 3 but I don't seem to find it on the s6.

For client data I run a CRM. This is then exported manually to CSV and uploaded into Outlook. (the CRM provider is working on an auto-sync for Outlook but that's another matter).
Anyway, at present I then sync Outlook contacts with my Blackberry manually via USB. However, now I'm switching to the S2 I'm hoping this can all be done automatically, two-way and obviously wirelessly...can it?
I'd then like to take it a step further and have my Outlook calendar and tasks sync on exactly the same basis i.e. auto, two-way & wirelessly...can this be done?
I've been told to look at Office365 but feel it's a tad OTT for my needs. However, I've got no issue paying for the right app/service if it can all be done.
Firstly, The Voice talk section just keeps popping up, also a disclaimer from Samsung about Vlingo comes up quite a bit! Also even though I don't have auto rotate on, the screen keeps rotating around which is quite annoying! It freezes quite a bit as well. And the battery doesn't seem to charge as well. Also when I lock the screen and write in the pattern to open it, it has stoped working on occasion.Now the main difference I've noticced is that ther seem to be loadfs of apps afrer appearing on my phone which I never downloaded suchas:ChocoEUKorcom.samsung.app.playreadycom.samsung.InputEventAppcom.sec.android.app.Icdtestcom.sec.android.app.screencom.sec.android.app.smtsetEncryptAppAnd more and more!!!!! I have tried to delete or uninstall them but they won't let me! And I am worried because it says these can access all personal data such as services that cost me money as directly calling pone numbers, sending texts etc!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone since black friday, and just yesterday started having a strange problem with it. It was in my pocket and it vibrated once so I checked what it was and it said "MTP initialization" at the top and "Charging" at the bottom, which is what it does when I plug it into my computer or charge it. It seemed weird to me because it definitely wasn't plugged into anything at all, it was in my pocket. When I got home, I plugged it into the charger for about 2 hours.then when I unplugged it, it did the same thing, but it kept doing it. It'd look like I plugged it into my computer when I didn't, and then a few seconds later the "charging" and everything would go away and it would say "Running Media Scanner" which is what it says whenever I unplug it from the computer. Since that time yesterday, it has literally been doing this every few seconds, cycling between thinking it's plugged into a computer and then being unplugged.In addition, for a while yesterday, the Voice Command kept opening and closing on it's own, not sure why. It seems to have stopped doing that now, but it keeps doing the charging/media scanning thing. I can actually use it when it's doing this thing, it just keeps vibrating every few seconds which gets annoying, and slows the phone down a little bit. But when the voice command thing kept opening and closing every few seconds, it was almost unusable because every time I'd try to do something, it'd cut out and go to the voice command.
