I have the blackberry 9900 and want to turn off the network internet services without turning off the wifi function. My mobile carrier is vodafone and even when I am connected to wifi, my credit is being used up. How do I disable the internet function but still use wifi? When I try disabling data services, wifi doesnt connect at all?

Yesterday I synced my bold for updates and now facebook doesn't on my mobile network and only on wifi. How I can change it back so I can use my mobile network rather than wifi.

While I can browse Internet through wifi (which is interesting cause it loves to freeze), I cannot use BB app world, cause it says my device is not connected to the wireless network. The same thing with FB application. I simply cannot connect to Internet although I already am connected, and my phone even shows full signal, network name, etc. Is there any solution which will make it possible to comfortably use BB????
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a T-mobile subscriber having serious problems with my 9900's voice function for both telephone calls as well as dictating emails and texts with VlingoPlus.The specific problem is that anyone I call or who calls me cannot hear me or they hear a garbled indistinct voice.I have experienced the same problem with two replacement 9900's which T-Mobile sent me (one in July 2012 and the second in September 2012)This problem first arose with the first replacement 9900 I received in July 2012 which replaced a 9900 which was experiencing intermittent ongoing failures of the blackberry internet service connection.The first replacement 9900 then began to have problems with the voice function shortly after I set it up.Although T-mobile's technical people attempted to assist me they failed in their efforts and they simply sent me a second replacement 9900 several days ago.I set up the second replacement 9900 on September 16, 2012 and the voice function failed the same day and has not worked since.I have done battery pulls but the problem persists.Today per T-Mobile's recommendation, I obtained a new SIMM card.There still is no voice function?

If I set the phone to "Offline" mode, it's not possible to download anything from Ovi Store. Why is that? - I tried to reinstall BBOS 7 but phone was not connecting to desktop software.

Then they called me and said, You have your phone dropped and thats why your phones "mainboard" and "processor" has been damaged. So, it will cost 50 dollars for fix.I said, I didint drop the phone and there isnt anything visually damaged on the phone(It is same as new phone), On the other hand phone has warranty, so why should ı pay 50 dollars? because you have dropped your phone and it makes it out of warranty.
Then I gave 50 dollars and waited for a week. while waiting I realized something. what kind of "mainboard and processor cost 50 dollars? Isnt it very cheap? even impossible.
anyway they called me and said that " we couldnt repair your phone and your phone is dead Now, I really dont know what to do, and dont want to live it like that. Somehow I have to access to blackberry or RIM and explain my situation.
BUT HOW? I live in Georgia, I am Turkish and there is no official blackberry service in this country, So What can I do ?

I have followed all the steps (used the desktop app to transfer the data from the old phone to the new one), moved the SIM card but I still can't set up the email or use BBM.I spoke to the service provider here in Romania (orange) and did everything they said (to go to blackberry. orange.com and change the model of the phone, to go to Host Routing Table and use the Register Now tool) but I didn't manage to solve the problem. The screen goes black and then I cannot turn the phone back on without removing the battery, waiting 30 seconds and the replacing it.I have tested a new battery and this has not helped. I have tried cleaning the contacts on the phone this has not helped. I've literally tried everything that XDA, reddit, and other miscellaneous sites have told me to do and all of them have the same 3-4 ways to get this to work and none do.
Resetting wifi, airplane mode, rebooting, resetting network settings, restored a backup, reflashed a ROM, and went back to stock.. nothing. I also tried go into Netgear dashboard WiFi Settings and change the auto channel but that method doesn't seem to be an option for me, it's either "Auto" or number 1 through 10. Or 5G is auto and numbers in the 100s.
All other devices connect to my wifi no problem, and my Nexus 6P was just fine up until about 2hours ago.
I happen to buy a used BB9900 from an online selling website in the UAE, and it turns out, the network seems to be blocked completely and I cant possibly try to input any MEP codes in any way possible. Is the device as good as dead or is there still a way to revive the device?
