BB Bold :: 9900 Turn Off The Network Internet Services Without Turning Off The Wifi Function?
Mar 2, 2012
I have the blackberry 9900 and want to turn off the network internet services without turning off the wifi function. My mobile carrier is vodafone and even when I am connected to wifi, my credit is being used up. How do I disable the internet function but still use wifi? When I try disabling data services, wifi doesnt connect at all?
I just got a bold 9900 a couple weeks ago and I like it. I use facebook a lot and it worked on the mobile network not on wifi. Yesterday I synced my bold for updates and now facebook doesn't on my mobile network and only on wifi. How I can change it back so I can use my mobile network rather than wifi.
I have many problems by every next day I have new BB Bold9900. While I can browse Internet through wifi (which is interesting cause it loves to freeze), I cannot use BB app world, cause it says my device is not connected to the wireless network. The same thing with FB application. I simply cannot connect to Internet although I already am connected, and my phone even shows full signal, network name, etc. Is there any solution which will make it possible to comfortably use BB????
Our company was able to receive the new Bold 9900 but it seems there is an issue with activating wifi on the device. Have tried turning on Wifi, but it attempts scanning for networks then eventually fails and turns wifi off. It doesn't even list any active access points. Doing a battery pull and reset the device to factory defaults does not seem to do the trick. I am thinking it could be a defective device or perhaps a software issue. BB OS: v22.214.171.1241
Hey,I have a question for turning off a mobile network, because I'm going on a holydays in the other country, and I want to turn off every connection to a network, don't want to recieve any e-mail,any updates from internet.I don't want to get to pay too much.If I will use internet in the other country,I will have to pay a lot,and that's what I don't want to.So how can I disable getting e-mail,or internet acces?
am using a Blackberry internet service from M1, singapore provider. To manage the data usage, I turn off the data plan in Set up mobile network, but then I also cannot the internet by wifi. Why is that?By the way, how can I manage the data usage? I want to use the service plan when I need to minimize the data usage, because I only have 1gb for free a month.
I have a Blackberry Torch 9800, in the past I have the Full service plan, that allowed everything, now I have downgraded to only e-mails. But now I can't even surf the web with the Wifi network or access to the APP World, is this for real all over the world or just my Carrier is blocking everything??
I am a T-mobile subscriber having serious problems with my 9900's voice function for both telephone calls as well as dictating emails and texts with VlingoPlus. The specific problem is that anyone I call or who calls me cannot hear me or they hear a garbled indistinct voice.I have experienced the same problem with two replacement 9900's which T-Mobile sent me (one in July 2012 and the second in September 2012)This problem first arose with the first replacement 9900 I received in July 2012 which replaced a 9900 which was experiencing intermittent ongoing failures of the blackberry internet service connection. The first replacement 9900 then began to have problems with the voice function shortly after I set it up.Although T-mobile's technical people attempted to assist me they failed in their efforts and they simply sent me a second replacement 9900 several days ago.I set up the second replacement 9900 on September 16, 2012 and the voice function failed the same day and has not worked since.I have done battery pulls but the problem persists.Today per T-Mobile's recommendation, I obtained a new SIMM card. There still is no voice function?
When my C6-01 is connected to my home wifi, Ovi Store allways connects to my operator's data network. If I set the phone to "Offline" mode, it's not possible to download anything from Ovi Store. Why is that? Wasn't Ovi Store supposed to work on offline mode, without a data connection, when wifi is available?
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.Details: A battery pull has not fixed my problem.I tried using another 9900 battery, however it did not work.My battery does not work on other 9900 devices. There are no signs of moisture, nor has there been contact with water. The LED light doesn't show, nor does anything on the screen.
I bought 9900 7 months ago and phone has 3 years warranty. After ı used phone 4 months, One night, before sleeping, I plugged it to charger and went to sleep.Morning my mobile was dead. I took out the battery and the reput it. only red indicator was blinking.
- I tried to reinstall BBOS 7 but phone was not connecting to desktop software. - I tried bbsak it also couldnt connect - I tried to install OS with application ( after deleting vendor.xml file) loader, but when it comes to middle it gives " JVM couldnt be loaded "
Then I putted it into its box and went to warranty service. Warranty service took it for a week. Then they called me and said, You have your phone dropped and thats why your phones "mainboard" and "processor" has been damaged. So, it will cost 50 dollars for fix.I said, I didint drop the phone and there isnt anything visually damaged on the phone(It is same as new phone), On the other hand phone has warranty, so why should ı pay 50 dollars? because you have dropped your phone and it makes it out of warranty.
Then I gave 50 dollars and waited for a week. while waiting I realized something. what kind of "mainboard and processor cost 50 dollars? Isnt it very cheap? even impossible.
anyway they called me and said that " we couldnt repair your phone and your phone is dead Now, I really dont know what to do, and dont want to live it like that. Somehow I have to access to blackberry or RIM and explain my situation.
BUT HOW? I live in Georgia, I am Turkish and there is no official blackberry service in this country, So What can I do ?
Got a new BB 9900 and cant connect to any of my emails or social networking. It says that i need to contact my provider.Done that and they dont know what the problem is or are taking forever to get back to me.I have reset the phone several times done the security wipe and nothing has worked. Also did the routing table and recieved the reg from RIM but still not working..
I just received as a gift for my birthday a BlackBerry Bold 9900 . I previously owned a Blackberry Bold 9000. Now I can't activate the blackberry services on the new phone. I have followed all the steps (used the desktop app to transfer the data from the old phone to the new one), moved the SIM card but I still can't set up the email or use BBM.I spoke to the service provider here in Romania (orange) and did everything they said (to go to blackberry. orange.com and change the model of the phone, to go to Host Routing Table and use the Register Now tool) but I didn't manage to solve the problem. If I insert the SIM card into the old phone everything works perfect. Also when I try to create a new account for the new phone on url... using the PIN and IMEI from the new phone I get the message - "Cannot create account: Your BlackBerry® Internet Service Account is suspended or deactivated"
After I restart the phone I always get an error message when the phone boots to the main screen on my 9900: The application net_rim_bbapi_push has attempted to open an internal connection which is not allowed by your IT policy." Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?
So a week or two after getting my Blackberry Bold 9900 it started turning off for no reason. The screen goes black and then I cannot turn the phone back on without removing the battery, waiting 30 seconds and the replacing it.I have tested a new battery and this has not helped. I have tried cleaning the contacts on the phone this has not helped. I have updated the software numerous times and this has not helped. The only way I can get my phone to stay on is by having it constantly on charge.I want to return it for a replacement as it is only a few months old.
I have a bold 9900 and I can connect to everything but email. I have tried to delete and readd it, it was there before but then I had to take my phone in to get fixed because it kept rebooting everytime I put it on a hard surface. It keeps coming back with 'no message services configured. You will be redirected to the setup wizard to setup your email' but it is already set up it just wont connect/link.
I purchased my 9900 the end of last month and got the goodies along with it. For some reason for the past couple days I keep losing my data services and i either have to reboot or cycle the mobile network connectivity.OS. 7.1.248
How can I surf the internet through a wifi network which is proxy enabled. There is an option to enter SSID and password, but the option to provide a proxy IP and port for wi-fi network is not available.
my phone shows the wifi network but it is unable to connect to the internet...i tried reseting my network, restarting my phone, changing the time and date and every possible ways to fix it up but it does not work...my brother has the same set as mine and the same wifi network is working fine on his mobile.
I've literally tried everything that XDA, reddit, and other miscellaneous sites have told me to do and all of them have the same 3-4 ways to get this to work and none do.
Resetting wifi, airplane mode, rebooting, resetting network settings, restored a backup, reflashed a ROM, and went back to stock.. nothing. I also tried go into Netgear dashboard WiFi Settings and change the auto channel but that method doesn't seem to be an option for me, it's either "Auto" or number 1 through 10. Or 5G is auto and numbers in the 100s.
All other devices connect to my wifi no problem, and my Nexus 6P was just fine up until about 2hours ago.
I happen to buy a used BB9900 from an online selling website in the UAE, and it turns out, the network seems to be blocked completely and I cant possibly try to input any MEP codes in any way possible. Is the device as good as dead or is there still a way to revive the device?
