BB :: Torch 9810 Constantly Restarting
Oct 20, 2011I have a Torch 9810 with the OS 7. Outside of the apps that were preinstalled with the phone, the only apps I have added are gmail and yahoo mail. I have 201.9 MB of free space in app storage, 6.2GB free in total media storage, and 3.2 gb free on my media card.
The device restarts on its own. Started off gradually, maybe once a day. And it would do it then, after sitting idle for a while and I pick it up, sliding out the keyboard would trigger a reboot. Then it would do that 2-3 times a day. I was thinking it had a defect in the slide out qwerty. Now it does it more frequently and has started doing it in the middle of calls. It has rebooted 3 times already this morning within an hour. One time without me even touching it, I just happen to see the screen come back on as it was booting up.

It's very frustrating that every time I go to do anything on my phone either the screen is frozen or its updating. It wont even let me turn the screen on unless I open the keypad - freezes and updates when trying to hang up a call- takes two minutes to prep phone for every use.

Oct 4, 2010VERIZON TOUR 9630 Phone is dead -- had original OS -- never upgraded Did a battery pull fix your issue -- NO My phone was dropped. It does not reboot. It is stuck in the red light/black screen/white screen with hourglass cycle. I have tried reloading the OS through the Apploader. I have deleted the vendor.xml file. I have used the command prompt to type c:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch in MotionApploaderLoader ojvm. The Apploader program starts and I make sure to hit next at "PIN:unknown" The process starts and fails at the same point everytime, however when I reach the point where It states "reconnecting to jvm" during "wait for device initialization" i repeatedly get the error message "Application Loader was unable to reconnect with your device reconnect your device, enter the password if required and hit Retry". I downloaded the latest version of DM and them removed the program and installed the version on my original CD as suggested by another webpage. None of this has worked and I have tried the same process over 10 times. My BB is dead and just runs through the reboot cycle as described above?

Mar 8, 2010My phone is about 2 months old. My service is through ATT in the US, but I use the phone abroad - currently in Sydney, Australia.Sometime early this morning [still asleep as alarm didn't go off], the phone began rebooting. When it reboots, it fails half way through and starts again. This has been going on for over 10 hours. I have not had time to load any new application onto it, it is in the same state it came. I just receive and send email and text.I have spoken to ATT and the only thing they recommend is a new phone. However, they wont send it to me outside the US, they say it isn't possible [even if I pay for shipping]. I guess they never heard of FedEx or DHL. So much for their international service. I have to coordinate shipping through my office in the US. This is going take me more time than I think I can live without the phone.
I've tried a battery that I know works and the problem persisted. I would like to wipe the phone clean, but since I don't ever get to the main screen, I cant do it using an application. Is there any way to wipe it clean using a combination of keys? I cant do it from my PC either as it doesnt recognize the phone since it is always rebooting.
BB Torch :: Cannot Copy All Contacts From 9810 To Another 9810?
Jun 21, 2012opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).

Jan 23, 2012I was so excited to have a Blackberry device and my choice was the Torch 9810 mainly for 3 reasons.
1- The big screen.
2- The touch screen with the sliding keyboard.
3- Latest OS.
As I watched and read so many reviews about it and compared it to the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860. The reviews for the Torch 9860 were somehow negative, and the sliding keyboard was a win over the Torch 9860. Bold seemed to be a good phone but the bigger screen was again what made me go for the Torch 9810.
For a new Blackberry user like me, I couldn't really figure out much differences between the three phones.
Unfortunately the Torch 9810 is not yet here in Egyptian market and I was about to buy a Bold 9900 till I noticed it would be locked to my carrier and then I changed my mind. I asked a family member to buy the Torch 9810 for me from the UAE and I finally got it one week ago.

Aug 20, 2012My brand New Tourch 9810 keeps on freezing up - I have to take the battery out in order to get it working again - I can not get onto Facebook, my BBM's doesnt go through, Sms' doesnt go through and when I tried to make a call it says - Call failed. I can not receive calls either - it goes straight to voicemail.
I can not send pics via BBM either - although it show send on my side - the receiver never gets them.
I really like Blackberry but are so frustrated that I want to get another make of phone!
