It's very frustrating that every time I go to do anything on my phone either the screen is frozen or its updating. It wont even let me turn the screen on unless I open the keypad - freezes and updates when trying to hang up a call- takes two minutes to prep phone for every use.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9810 with the OS 7. Outside of the apps that were preinstalled with the phone, the only apps I have added are gmail and yahoo mail. I have 201.9 MB of free space in app storage, 6.2GB free in total media storage, and 3.2 gb free on my media card.
The device restarts on its own. Started off gradually, maybe once a day. And it would do it then, after sitting idle for a while and I pick it up, sliding out the keyboard would trigger a reboot. Then it would do that 2-3 times a day. I was thinking it had a defect in the slide out qwerty. Now it does it more frequently and has started doing it in the middle of calls. It has rebooted 3 times already this morning within an hour. One time without me even touching it, I just happen to see the screen come back on as it was booting up.
My BlackBerry Torch 9810 refuses to start-up and while trying to rectify this issue using Desktop Manager, it fails to get passed the "Reconnecting to JVM" phase.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOnce I take 9810 out of case, it takes 5-10 seconds to update current time and display new message if any. It also behaves similarly if it went into sleep mode and I press any button to bring it back to active mode. Sometimes hourglass is displayed and takes a while for this phone to become operational.This was not the case with 9800 or any other blackberries I had in past.Is it normal?

Whatever function or app icon i click on or the download button it freezes with a rotating wheel and a please wait .. it never ends. I have reinstalled the application 4-5 times and retried . the same thing happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have updated my Torch 9810 to the new Telus 7.1 OS and it renders it unusable. I have tried reinstalling the OS several times, to no avail. It did that once with 7.0 and I reinstalled it and it worked great. I also tried to use app loader and I couldn't launch it, it said the file exists already and it stopped. I want the 7.1 features, but it seems to kill my 9810. The screen is semi functional for about 30 seconds with glitches then it freezes the screen and I can only use the cursor and the key board to do anything. I down graded back to 7.0 and now it works fine.

I downloaded a software called "blackberry Swiss army kit" and I still got nothing done. Everything installs but when it reboots its freezes at the same spot.

I do not recall if my touchscreen used to freeze before the update. However, I have tried downgrading back to the old OS and this does not work. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on my third Blackberry 8520 and keep having the same problem. Every two or three days it freezes. The only way to "fix" this is to take the battery out and put it back it. Two or three days later, it will freeze and I have to do it again. This process also drains my battery life. I don't have many applications installed and the ones I do have come only from Blackberry App World. I also receive an App Error 523 message. I have called my carrier and gone through the different steps they recommend to solve this problem. None work. I am very dissatisfied and have come to the conclusion that the 8520 and all Curves are garbage and I am seriously considering leaving Blackberry. This also happened to me and other friends owned 8300.

View 2 Replies View Relatedopying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).

I have a Bold 9700 upgraded to OS 6 about 1 year ago, in the last 2 - 3 months my phone seems to freeze constantly and the only way to stop it is to pull the battery. Another issue I'm having is that I get an "application memory low" message about twice to three times a day asking me to delete applications, I am now down to two applications on my phone....a banking app and a music app....and I'm still getting the message.

The phone was such a pain, everytime I talked on it it would hit the speakerphone, so I gave it to my daughter a few months ago and bought the New Bold 9900 because I heard it was much better. So wrong. I am on my second Bold phone because it heats up and the battery doesn't last long at all.

I have the Storm 2 9550 with Verizon.Since the latest update (v5.0.0.607), my phone freezes constantly to the point where the phone is really unusable. the phone was purchased 4 months ago and regularly freezes and crashes when using it. The software also sometimes will perform the wrong function when an icon or button on the phone is pressed. I have tried updating the software to see if that would help but for the last 2 weeks I have been told that the Update Centre is overloaded and I can't download the new software.

There is a Reset button below that and when I press it, it just tries to restart my blackberry. It will load to a certain point and then come back to this Error message. I went to the website it suggests and it tells me to go onto my Blackberry Desktop Manager and reload my software. I tried to do this, but my Desktop Manager and my smart phone will not connect and so I can't reload my software.
