Galaxy S6 :: Constantly Connecting And Reconnecting To WiFi?
Dec 8, 2015Ever since I first got the s6 a couple of months ago it is constantly reconnecting to the WiFi.

View 4 RepliesMy wi-fi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. It keeps losing the connection and then cycles back on. It does this every few seconds and won't keep a steady connection. It seems to have started with the update to ICS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the wifi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting right after everytime I transfer significant amount of data. I also noticed that the frequency of the drops are proportional to the amount of data downloaded.
For exemple, if I simply load a light page it drops and reconnects maybe once or twice, but if I'm close to the router (higher speed) and try downloading some heavy package it disconnects and reconnects every 5 seconds. Seems like it can't handle high speed data transfer.
I've already tried testing all the 12 channels on my router, and I also have the smart switch disabled. In addition to that, I live with 3 guys and none of their devices show any problem so I hardly think that the problem is the modem or the router.
I've also tried a hard reset and this problem has been showing even before I upgraded to Lollipop...
So the last few days I've had problems with WiFi disconnecting and reconnecting over and over and thought that was the cause of my battery draining tons faster then normal, used to last at least most if not all day with pretty constant use and now it's barely making it 5 hours without needing a charge. Att pushed the 4.4.4 update today and after turning the WiFi smart switch back off the WiFi problem seems to be better but my battery is still draining, just not quite as fast.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my iphone to my pc. It keeps "connecting" and "reconnecting". Its getting very frustrating. I'm not sure why its doing this. First an error comes up that says "iTunes cannot install apps to iPhone "Ryan's iPhone 4S" because the apps installed on the phone could not be determined." another error is "The iPhone "Ryan's iPhone 4S" cannot be synced. The required disk space cannot be found".

I recently moved to android phones and I don't know the OS yet.I have an issue with my new S5. When I am connected to wifi at work, it's constantly downloading something (30kb/s~70kb/s - from Internet Speed Meter), with everything turned off - sync, auto update, back up...
The interesting thing is that only happens when I am connected to wifi at work. Transfer rate is down to zero when I am on LTE and at home, wifi transfer is within normal range. I mostly have download and very little upload recorded by the speed meter. I checked the OS update and it is up to date, so no OS download. I installed battery doctor, clean master and cm security and with everything turned off manually and by these apps, I still have this constant internet traffic over wifi.
Just to make an idea about what I am talking here: over weekend I had 135mb (wifi at home) and only Monday I had 731mb (wifi at work) and 50mb (wifi at home)
When I look at Data Usage, first line is Android OS.
What can I do to stop this transfer? Can it be something from work? Can it be something from my phone? I am thinking to do a factory reset, but the phone is just 1 month old.
It seems that when I am connected to any WiFi network (home or work) my phone will constantly switch between 4G and WiFI. The only way I have been able to work around this issue is by disabling Mobile Data while I am on WiFi and disabling Smart Network Switch.

However, in the mean time it is still dropping the Wifi and now i am getting charged over usage charges for going over my 1GB limit..

I have system set for auto reconnect but that doesn't seem to be working obviously.
My S6 is connected to the works Wi-fi and it will simply just not connect to the internet. I have full admin rights to surf the net. I have restarted the router. I have checked that my time date is correct and still not working.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Galaxy S II for 5 months now and have always gotten it connected to my home's wifi. Now for some reason it's not connecting. My wifi is up and running fine (connected on my PC as I type this), the password is set fine for the Galaxy, but instead of connecting, Settings only says "Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2" after clicking "Connect". Signal strength is noted as "Excellent". I've tried re-entering the password several times, but the same results every time.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought my first Samsung Galaxy S2 and love it to bits. The only problem I've encountered in the three days I've had it is that it won't connect via wifi to my home computer (a Mac). With my Mac's 'Airport' and 'Internet Sharing' turned on, my boyfriend can connect to wifi from the Mac to his iPhone but my S2 refuses to connect. Once I turn on wifi on the S2, under 'Wi-Fi networks' it brings up my computer and my neighbours' wifi networks. I click on my computer's name, type in the password, but then it just cycles from 'Scanning...', 'Connecting..' to 'Disconnected'. I've spent hours trawling Google for a solution. Under the 'Advanced' wifi settings I selected 'Use static IP' (but I'm not convinced I put in the right numbers under 'IP address', 'Gateway', 'Netmask' and 'DNS'). I don't know if it makes a difference but in System Preferences > Network > Airport, it says 'Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet'. But my computer is clearly visible on the wifi network because my boyfriend could connect wifi from my computer to his iPhone.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having troubles with my WiFi connection. After connecting it works for about 15 minutes then while browsing the net the bar will stop and the page won't load. After that nothing will connect. Mobile data works fine. I've tried turning off phone and turning back on, as well as "forgetting" router and then reconnecting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI turn the WiFi off in the notification panel, but it keeps turning on and connecting to a WiFi signal I don't want it to. Even if I tell it to forget that network, it pops up again and connects to it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Verizon Galaxy S6 is auto turning itself on and auto connecting to wifi networks. I have all options in the advance settings for wifi turned off and it still auto connects.
Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5, and recently updated to Lollipop. Had all the major problems reported, so I did a system restore which fixed a few of them. My most pressing concern, however, is that I can no longer connect to my work WIFI. I had no problems connecting prior to the update. The WIFI is set up where you connect, and then a webpage should open up for you to login to the system. My browser opens, but will not load a page. The progress bar gets stuck on one spot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a new android user. The problem I'm having is that when my wifi drops out or if I come home the Internet on my phone does not switch back from mobile data to wifi. I'm with bigpond and I have put the password into my phone and I don't need to put the password in each time but when I go to wifi settings it says sign in required and I press connect and the wifi turns on. As soon as I come home or the Internet drops out it switched back to 3G and doesn't connect back to wifi unless I do what I mentioned above.
The advanced setting on the wifi are
Proxy-none
Ip settings DHCP
Signal strength- very strong
Security wpa2 psk
I also have the smart network switch toggled to off. I have reset my telstra router.
I've wasted a lot of my mobile data this week before I realised that when I left the house or the net dropped out my phone was staying on 3G and not switching back to wifi the way my iPhone and every other phone I've owned did.
I bought the Samsung S2 GT-I9100 a couple of days ago for my birthday. Everything is working perfectly, including 3G internet. However, there is a problem with my WIFI. It connects to the network, but nothing loads on the internet browser, or on any other app that uses the internet. I've tried a few different networks and have had the same problem. I'm running 4.0.3.

My WiFi keeps disconnecting from my home and college networks. When I go to reconnect it says beside the networks that they're poor connections. My home network I have 3-4 bars of WiFi constantly with 12mbs and the college network stays in the 3-4 signal range with 45mbs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got the xperia z5 for Christmas and noticed that the WiFi was almost constantly dropping during use. I brought the phone back and got a replacement but it occurs with the new one too as it seems its a well known problem.
Basically, my wifi just drops during use and it requires me to turn wifi off and back on again so it will reconnect. I could easily do this 5 times within a couple of minutes, other times it will barely happen.
My mobile is Sony Zperia Z3 Dual (D6633). A few days ago I started to experience issues in Wi-Fi. Is keeps reconnecting. I mean I turn on the Wi-Fi it shows the available networks connect to the one of them and than after no more than one second it disconnects and search for new network again. And than like this in a loop.
I tried to update to news version (23.4.A.1.232) and repair using PCC. Also I am experiencing the same issue in safe mode. Is there anything more I can do instead of sending mobile to the warranty? Right now I am not able to use Wi-Fi at all.
My Z5P drops WiFi constantly. Looses contact, everywhere. In 5min it can happen 3-5times.While no one else with for example Iphone looses. It also happens frequently in public wifi places, and its really annoying.

View 20 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday morning now both wifi and 3g have been dropping like mad on my phone--the icon will just disappear and I will have no internet signal at all, and sometimes orange will completely drop out (which is normal because my house gets bad reception in some areas. Sometimes the circle appears and I can get a slow connection for a moment before everything completely drops. The phone is only 4 months old and hasn't been dropped at all. I've tried the drain battery option and the airplane also one, but nothing is working at all.

I've been on the phone with Motorola Support, AT&T, and my ISP... no one seems to be able to figure out why this is happening. It's all but shy of disconcerting that their only "solutions" are to a.) find a attwifi hotspot to see if it still does it or b.) trade it in for a new one.
Okay, so I tried the first solution. Drove to McDonald's... no avail. Wouldn't even connect at all. I also tried a master reset, tweaked my wifi router settings, and still standing not even 20 feet from the router it still disconnects constantly. At best, it stays connected for 30+ minutes, and that's when I'm actually talking on the phone.
