Motorola Atrix HD :: My Wifi Constantly Disconnecting
Aug 1, 2012
I've been on the phone with Motorola Support, AT&T, and my ISP... no one seems to be able to figure out why this is happening. It's all but shy of disconcerting that their only "solutions" are to a.) find a attwifi hotspot to see if it still does it or b.) trade it in for a new one.
Okay, so I tried the first solution. Drove to McDonald's... no avail. Wouldn't even connect at all. I also tried a master reset, tweaked my wifi router settings, and still standing not even 20 feet from the router it still disconnects constantly. At best, it stays connected for 30+ minutes, and that's when I'm actually talking on the phone.
My wi-fi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. It keeps losing the connection and then cycles back on. It does this every few seconds and won't keep a steady connection. It seems to have started with the update to ICS.
I bought my brand new Motorola Atrix 2, a week back in India and am facing a peculiar problem with the phone. I am on Vodafone network and have a 3G plan with them, but my phone does not connect to the 3G network at all.
After reading several posts in the forum, I found out that it was a software problem with the phone and I had to install a 3rd party software from the Google Play site called "Network" to solve the problem.I also upgraded my software to ICS and that happened smoothly but my wifi is also not stable and keeps disconnecting every 3 to 4 minutes? Is there anyone who can help me with this as well.
My WiFi keeps disconnecting from my home and college networks. When I go to reconnect it says beside the networks that they're poor connections. My home network I have 3-4 bars of WiFi constantly with 12mbs and the college network stays in the 3-4 signal range with 45mbs.
Having issues after Cyan update with the wi-fi constantly disconnecting by itself? even while using the phone it just disconnects and I have to go back to wi-fi and connect it.
I'm new to this so I ask for patience. I am constantly getting kick off of my homes wifi.I've read the some of the support forums but I'm not getting the answers I need, probably more ways than one? And other time, I found I couldn't connect to a local restaurant wifi
I have been searching the internet for solutions for my Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting since the 2.3.6 update. I am hoping that the next update will fix it, but I am worried. My warranty will be expired by the time it comes out.
Can anyone shed light on why I have intermittent trouble in disconnecting calls? It doesn't happen with every call but is frequent enough to make me wonder if there is a problem with my phone. The phone still shows that I am in "active call" status even after I've pressed the disconnect button up to as many as 5 times.Customer svc. at store told me to try shutting the phone off periodically and maybe it will reset; however it isn't like I leave it on continuously.
All of a sudden, my Electrify will not connect to my home network. I have Macs and use an Airport Extreme router. When I open up wifi settings it sees my network, as usual, and then I have to select it to "connect". Which I do. It scans to connect and then, within seconds, disconnects. It will keep scanning and I see my network there and could repeat this process over 100 times with the same results.
I recently updated a bunch of apps on my phone that I have had for a while. I then started noticing that my battery would not last a half a day. It used to last over a day easily. Then today got a text saying that i have almost reached my 2gb data limit. So I installed the My Data Manager app and it is showing that the Contacts app is constantly communicating with something. I have an corporate exchange account for my email and contacts. How do i tell what is causing the contacts to constantly communicate?
My Atrix has been acting very unstable ever since the 2.3.4 update. It reboots everytime when the phone is connected to the HD dock or PC via the USB port during a phone call
Why my phone will freeze up in the passcode process. In the past two days the phone has just dropped off the planet in terms of performance. I downloaded the newest update about 3 weeks ago (which I don't like at all).
My phone is constantly over heating (only when I am not using it) to the point it gets hot as a stove literally. And the bad thing is after the 5 overheat my Camera does not work any more which is a problem because the is my most used feature. My aunt said the reason it overheats is because its trying hard to look for signal. No mods, no root, only one sideloaded app.
I just joined Verizon and my Droid 2 Global came in the mail yesterday! The biggest issues I've had so far are battery life and Wi-Fi disconnects.
For now I just want to ask about the Wi-Fi because I cannot seem to find a decent or consistent answer online (using Google or here in the forums). So the issue... I turn on Wi-Fi, connect to the router, and 2 seconds later it says "disconnected". The router I'm using is a Linksys WRT-150N and my phone software version is 2.4.330.A956.
At home, I have my xoom set to automatically connect to my home WiFi network. But, recently, my xoom constantly disconnects from the WiFi. For example, when I open Google Talk, the application is disconnected and must reconnect...every time I open it up. Plus the WiFi icon at the bottom of the Xoom will go from blue color to white color automatically. I even have the setting checked to stay connected to this WiFi network when in range.
I'm having issues with wifi connection. It is not more than 5 minutes connected, it looses the connection and disconnect. Is it because of the update I got a few weeks ago?
I have the Xoom 2 WiFi 3g 32GB and it constantly drops my home network wifi connection.
It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Tried both WPA and WPA2, tried the Xoom with a static IP and tried rebooting both devices.Xoom is on Honeycomb 3.2.2, system version 0.268.4.MZ616.AsiaRetail.en.03 and wifi disconnect policy is set to never.
Have noticed that my Photon can't seem to hold a WIFI connection. I can be sitting right next to my router, and it will drop the connection and start scanning again. Have noticed the same thing with other wifi connections at work. Also the WIFI connection sometimes goes dormant/gray and won't wake up on its own. The only solution is to turn the wifi connection off/on, or to cycle the power on the router. Not sure if its a setting that kills the connection after a period of inactivity, have looked in the settings but can't seem to find anything. I have had this problem pre and post update, but am frustrated as I've just passed my 30 days to return the phone easily if something is wrong with the phone.
For the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.
I've been having problems with my battery monitor constantly showing wifi usage while it's never even used on my phone. There will then be sporadic times where it will show that wifi is "off" and then kick back in.
then reconnects right when I go to settings view wireless networks. Its almost as it knows it disconnected then it reconnects back up. Im playing an online game then it disconnects then I go to my settings>wifi then it will reconnect then I have to rejoin the online game again.
I have just purchased an expensive AirPlay sound system, and to my dismay, the connection keeps dropping out when using it with my iPhone 4s. Every so often, when I unlock my phone, it says 3G is connected and not wifi, even when my iPad is still connected and so is every other device. I am using an iPhone 4s running iOS 8.
My wifi connection needs manually connecting every time my screen goes off. It connect fine, works fine but as soon as I am done and the screen goes off...hey presto I need to manually connect to wifi again. It didn't used to do this and it's very annoying. I have keep wifi on during sleep in advance and I have a z3.
I'm having this problem on my tmobile s6 where my phone screen will freeze randomly but it only happens anytime i lose connection to wifi. When the phone unfreezes, it always shows that I now connected to my wifi network. I am on xtrestolite rom (tmo version) , stock kernel....
Having issues with 5GHz wifi becoming unresponsive and needing to be turned off and immediately back on to kick it into working? I've got Smart Network Switch and Download Booster (switch to mobile data if wifi is no good; use wifi + LTE) both switched off, so they shouldn't be a factor..
I even switched them back on and then off just to be sure that they were in fact off. After a painful day spent trying to transfer data to the new phone, and installing all of my usual apps - having to disable and renable wifi at least 50 times throughout the day - I decided to switch from using my 5GHz wifi to 2.4GHz (same router), and it now seems fine. Switching back to 5, and I end up back with the same result - wifi will work fine for a while before stopping.
My Galaxy S5 has no issue using the 5GHz (and neither do any other devices I have), so it doesn't appear to be the router (Asus RT-AC87U) at fault unless there's just some compatibility issue with the S6.
My galaxy s5 is disconnecting from my wife though I have all the settings for that type of thing off.. It disconnects and reconnects the moment it disconnects... What could be the issue?
just bought a xperia ray today and it seems to connect to my network and then straight away it disconnects again - i'm not really sure what the problem is. i have rebooted my router and rebooted my phone both to no avail.i think its werid because its finding the network just not actually connecting.
I recently got me iPhone 5s and whenever I am using wifi wherever it disconnects and I am stucK with 4g/LTE. It does this when I'm playing games or whenever I'm on the internet.
After I update to iOS 5.1 is started disconnecting with my home wifi. After the update every thing seems to be running alright after after a day my connection was lost. When I tried to reconnect I got the message "unable to join the network".
