I have been searching the internet for solutions for my Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting since the 2.3.6 update. I am hoping that the next update will fix it, but I am worried. My warranty will be expired by the time it comes out.
View 1 RepliesI just joined Verizon and my Droid 2 Global came in the mail yesterday! The biggest issues I've had so far are battery life and Wi-Fi disconnects.
For now I just want to ask about the Wi-Fi because I cannot seem to find a decent or consistent answer online (using Google or here in the forums). So the issue... I turn on Wi-Fi, connect to the router, and 2 seconds later it says "disconnected". The router I'm using is a Linksys WRT-150N and my phone software version is 2.4.330.A956.

At home, I have my xoom set to automatically connect to my home WiFi network. But, recently, my xoom constantly disconnects from the WiFi. For example, when I open Google Talk, the application is disconnected and must reconnect...every time I open it up. Plus the WiFi icon at the bottom of the Xoom will go from blue color to white color automatically. I even have the setting checked to stay connected to this WiFi network when in range.

It's all but shy of disconcerting that their only "solutions" are to a.) find a attwifi hotspot to see if it still does it or b.) trade it in for a new one.
Okay, so I tried the first solution. Drove to McDonald's... no avail. Wouldn't even connect at all. I also tried a master reset, tweaked my wifi router settings, and still standing not even 20 feet from the router it still disconnects constantly. At best, it stays connected for 30+ minutes, and that's when I'm actually talking on the phone.
I'm new to this so I ask for patience. I am constantly getting kick off of my homes wifi.I've read the some of the support forums but I'm not getting the answers I need, probably more ways than one? And other time, I found I couldn't connect to a local restaurant wifi

View 12 Replies View RelatedHave noticed that my Photon can't seem to hold a WIFI connection. I can be sitting right next to my router, and it will drop the connection and start scanning again. Have noticed the same thing with other wifi connections at work. Also the WIFI connection sometimes goes dormant/gray and won't wake up on its own. The only solution is to turn the wifi connection off/on, or to cycle the power on the router. Not sure if its a setting that kills the connection after a period of inactivity, have looked in the settings but can't seem to find anything. I have had this problem pre and post update, but am frustrated as I've just passed my 30 days to return the phone easily if something is wrong with the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with random and frequent disconnects with the Atrix 4G when on Bluetooth while connected in a car. Initially my setup was using a Motorola Roadster and while playing audio I would randomly not get sound, then shortly after I would get the message that the phone was no longer connected to the Roadster.Usually it would eventually reconnect, sometimes almost immediately after. This would happen sometimes as often as every few minutes, while other times it could play a half hour or more before encountering the problem.
Initially I was unsure whether it was the Atrix itself or the Roadster, but after having recently purchased a Ford F-150 with SYNC bluetooth connect, I am encountering the exact same behavior with random disconnects. Unfortunately with the Ford SYNC, I never get it to automatically reconnect, and I must go into the phone, turn bluetooth off and back on, then manually reconnect from the phone.Most of the time I have the Atrix connected through the Motorola Car Dock, but I think the same behavior has occurred out of the dock.I have never noticed this same behavior with other bluetooth devices I have - Jawbone Icon, Monster iClarity speaker. I don't know if I have enough data to tell definitively or not, but I think I have only observed this when the auto was in motion.
However, one day after the update my wifi would not work and continued to give me "ERROR" under the on/off option. Also, my bluetooth tries to turn on, but won't.

The handset pairs fine with the head unit in my c class Merc, I can make and receive calls and text messages, but it continually disconnect the bluetooth as though the phone is powering bluetooth off and then powering it back up and reconnecting. This sometimes happens every 30-40 seconds other days it can be ever 3-5 minutes. The head unit works fine with my blackberry, htc desire and a mates iphone so I know that's not at fault. I've tried deleting the pairing and restoring my phone prior to the update but all to no avail.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI recently noticed that my Bionic appears to disconnect from wifi when the screen locks. When I unlock the screen (and I have the dot pattern unlock), there's no wifi icon for a few seconds.
I have unlimited data, but still keep my DB on wifi all the time at home and the office. I'm guessing the DB goes into 4G or 3G mode when locked, which could be problematical if I had a measured data plan. Anyone else notice this behavior?
My daughter (who lives in another town) and I just switched from Samsung Mesmerize to Electrify phones. We both have D-Link DIR-655 routers in our homes. Although we had no problem using wifi with our old phones, the Electrify searches, connects and then immediately disconnects. I've spent hours checking out the router software as the admin, checking on line to see if others have reported this and I've tried every combination of options on the Electrify. We're both running Win7 and both use our routers successfully on other wireless devices in our homes.

It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. For the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.

It does it when it feels like. Mostly when ive been idle for a bit, but does occur at other times too, in the middle of a written conversation it disconnects.
Things ive tried:
Resetting Router, moving it.
Resetting apps on phone to default.
Forgetting the Wifi connection and re connecting it.
This week, I bought an iphone 6 and from the first day I noticed an error with the wi-fi.
The wifi disconnects alone and has low signal. This is already stressing and do not know if it's a software or hardware problem.
It will be a ios 8.1.1 bug?

My E7 connects to the wifi smoothly but it last only for a minute though wifi icon on the top shows its connected. I need to manually update all my homescreen widgets, Nimbuzz or any other online app disconnects in the background mode, even while browsing, if idle for a minute it gets disconnected, i have to refresh my wifi connection after every minute.!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used up my data plan very quickly in the last 2 days because the iPhone would not stay connected to Wi-Fi when I was streaming music form SkyFM through my new docked speakers. I had read that the iPhone was supposed to keep its Wi-Fi connection when plugged in but this does not appear to be true. The phone is a 3GS running iOS 5.1 (regretably) which by the way has slowed the phone to a crawl even worse than iOS 4 had.
