Galaxy S5 :: WiFi Keep Reconnecting Every Time Download Something?
Apr 15, 2015
I noticed that the wifi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting right after everytime I transfer significant amount of data. I also noticed that the frequency of the drops are proportional to the amount of data downloaded.
For exemple, if I simply load a light page it drops and reconnects maybe once or twice, but if I'm close to the router (higher speed) and try downloading some heavy package it disconnects and reconnects every 5 seconds. Seems like it can't handle high speed data transfer.
I've already tried testing all the 12 channels on my router, and I also have the smart switch disabled. In addition to that, I live with 3 guys and none of their devices show any problem so I hardly think that the problem is the modem or the router.
I've also tried a hard reset and this problem has been showing even before I upgraded to Lollipop...
So the last few days I've had problems with WiFi disconnecting and reconnecting over and over and thought that was the cause of my battery draining tons faster then normal, used to last at least most if not all day with pretty constant use and now it's barely making it 5 hours without needing a charge. Att pushed the 4.4.4 update today and after turning the WiFi smart switch back off the WiFi problem seems to be better but my battery is still draining, just not quite as fast.
My wi-fi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. It keeps losing the connection and then cycles back on. It does this every few seconds and won't keep a steady connection. It seems to have started with the update to ICS.
For some reason, a error keeps popping up every time I connect to my home wifi. The phone connects perfectly fine and it says it is connected, but whenever I attempt to use the internet nothing will load at all. The wifi bars are there and are full, but nothing works. In wifi settings it says it is connected. On all of the other desktops, laptops, and mobile devices in the house the same wifi works perfectly fine. So, I have come to the conclusion that it must be something having to do with the phone.
I'm trying to download assassin's creed pirates from Google play but it either says error 905, or doesn't download, i mean it stays at 0.00 mb.
I've noticed that when i use mobile data connection instead of wifi, it downloads just fine. The problem is, I can't download 1gb with mobile data because it's too expensive.
I've tried uninstalling google play store updates, cache, data, force stopping it, rebooting my phone, nothing worked. Some people told me to turn off download booster, i did but nothing happened.
I am traveling out of the country and my S6 is in airplane mode with wifi on and connected to a wifi network in a different country. However, the time zone is not updating, even though the phone knows I'm not in the Pacific time zone anymore (in Google Maps, it shows that I am in a different country). My previous Android phone, the Motorola DROID MAXX, also did not update the time zone despite being connected to a wifi network in a different country.
Interestingly enough, my iPhone 6 Plus, which is also in airplane mode with wifi on, does detect that I'm in a different time zone (once it connects to the wifi network) and changes the time automatically.
Am I missing a setting? Or is this a normal (non)function of Android phones?
After upgrade IOS 8.1.1 I have no service in my IPhone 5, lost WiFi connectivity from time to time and the battery is draining within hours. I tried everything that Apple support told me to do and still did not fix the problem.
I read several places in connection with the new 2.3.5 update it will be possible to separate screen time-out time from screen lock time. So that you screen would go dark after fx. 15 seconds and lock after 60 seconds
I have been using my samsung galaxy pretty heavily being as i just got it a week ago. I have noticed with heavy use it does not last me a whole day. Yesterday i let the battery drain all the way out so that i could completely cycle through. It ended up takeing a little over 3 hours to fully charge again. Was curious how many hrs of usage other people are averageing and how many hrs of charge time?
I finally found a S6 with good button and display, but I think I have again bad luck: from time to time, camera is failing and is not related to low power because I encounter the issue at 80% battery level.
I tried factory reset, clear cache and data, and it comes back. But always, the camera is working after pressing Clear all in Smart Manager. If I simply kill the processes using the standard task manager, the camera shows the same error.
if it's an hardware problem, as I read online, why works after clean all operation? I have stock ROM, without root or special app(just fb, dropbox installed)
my friend blackberry is stuck at this stage and we've tried everything except using another computer. we tried nojvm but the option is not showing on my laptop for unknown pin so theres no way to bypass this. ive been at this for days now and dont know what else to do. is there something we're not doing right or we should be doing/
My iphone keeps disconnecting/reconnecting to my pc laptop. Sometimes it connects to itunes and usually it doesnt. When it does connect to itunes it automatically tries to back up and sync but disconnects during the syncing process. I've tried reinstalling itunes, fixing apple mobile device support, and updating driver software. not sure what else to do.
I'm trying to connect my iphone to my pc. It keeps "connecting" and "reconnecting". Its getting very frustrating. I'm not sure why its doing this. First an error comes up that says "iTunes cannot install apps to iPhone "Ryan's iPhone 4S" because the apps installed on the phone could not be determined." another error is "The iPhone "Ryan's iPhone 4S" cannot be synced. The required disk space cannot be found".
Does anyone know what time Apple typically makes the new OS's available for download? Has it been consistent with past iPhone updates or is it pretty random?
Every time I want to download an app, or I want to update them, even when they are free the App Store App asks for the password. I understand that you should absolutely need a password every time you buy an app. But in all the other cases it's just terribly annoying and feels like an important drawback.
I've tried numerous times to download or download and install the iphone IOS 5.1.1, but the process always time out and stop downloading after about 50MB have been downloaded. I've never had any similar problems before. I'm currently on IOS 5.0.1.
Some Apps require a one time download which always seems to be 252.50kb. However when I am prompted to allow the one time download it proceeds with the installation, the phone completes the download then switches to "Installing" and finally the installation fails. Anyone know how I can get this download via an alternative method? and exactly what it is?Not sure what info would be helpful so I have listed everything I am aware of.Also the phone refuses to upgrade to Symbian Belle as this just fails each time but that is for another time.Phone info.ReleaseSymbian AnnaSoftware Version022.014Software version date2011-07-05Custom Version022.014.210.09Language set022.014.01.01Product Code059C0T6ModelN8-00TypeRM-596Browser version7.3Flash Version4.0Java version2.2
I recently upgraded my Blackberry to version 5 from 4.6, and it seems to be having trouble keeping a data connection on 3G, as well as wifi occasionally. It will connect to for a short while (under a minute) to data and the blackberry services but whenever I try to download anything or after a certain amount of time it will disconnect. Wifi is more stable but it does seem to disconnect every now and then. It works fine on GPRS. I've resent the service books a couple of times and I've done multiple battery removing reboots, yet it still keeps doing it. Does anyone have any ideas?
I plugged my 9790 into my PC to sync with desktop manager and was offered a software upgrade first. Desktop Manager loaded new software ok. The Device Software update started and the back up went fine. Software seemed to download ok but is now stuck during the install at 'Reconnecting to JVM'. It has been like this for hours. The screen of the 9790 shows the clock although a reminder message came up which I cancelled - now back to the clock. The text in the update window says that the device must not be disconnected during the update process as it might render it unusable.
My BlackBerry Torch 9810 refuses to start-up and while trying to rectify this issue using Desktop Manager, it fails to get passed the "Reconnecting to JVM" phase.
A couple of months ago my Lumia 1020 (about 7 months old at the time) started having trouble connecting to the computer via USB cable. My computer runs Windows 8.1. I'll plug it in and it will connect but then disconnect/reconnect every few seconds afterwards until it disconnects completely. I have tried restarting the phone, restarting the computer, installing new drivers for the phone on the computer, cleaning the microUSB slot on the phone. I have been using the original cable. It works fine when I use the cable to charge through a wall outlet.
I have a blue tooth music receiver and even after I discount from it on my device it immediately reconnects. I like to leave my Bluetooth on 24/7 because I use it for several different devices....
Recently, I've been noticing that my signal inductor is regularly (approx every 1-2mins) dropping to zero and then regaining signal.Due to this, I've experienced several dropped calls and network problems, and all the basic troubleshooting solutions don't seem to work.As its losing signal constantly, I've noticed that this is also rapidly draining my battery life.
When using download option "Headers Plus", attachments are not downloaded by default. So far so good. When I receive a small (<80Kb) attachment (*.doc). I can enable option "download" for this attachment. When I subsequently sync my nokia e71 with my remote mail account (gmail) the attachment is still not downlo aded. Ony after quite some time (5-10 minutes) the attachment is downloaded and it can be opened. Same thing for a very smal *gif attachment. Is this normal behavior?By the way, I would prefer downloading small attachments always. Maybe a nice improvement for an upcoming release of messaging?
This is my first iPhone and first apple product. It's amazingly fast and fun. My question is will it become laggy if I download too many apps. Also will having more memory left make the phone faster. I only have a 16gb model.
