IPhone 5 :: Lost WiFi Connectivity From Time To Time / Battery Is Draining Within Hours
Dec 3, 2014
After upgrade IOS 8.1.1 I have no service in my IPhone 5, lost WiFi connectivity from time to time and the battery is draining within hours. I tried everything that Apple support told me to do and still did not fix the problem.
phone charge keeps going down even if I am not using it. It remains hot even after unplugging from the charger . I have switched off notifiications and background refresh of apps I dont care and even locations. When this is sleeping it Loses charge and remains warm..what do i do
have been using my defy for a few weeks now, waiting för 2.2 but, i cant get more battery time than about 36 h, and that whit no extra apps, everything i can fin is off except gsm what i culd read before i bought i was, up to 238 h time i can accept poor batterytime if i use it a lot and whit bt,wifi, gps and more things on and running, but havint it as a normal phone an charge it every night is, about back to 1995 and my first gsm phone what is possible to do to get more batterytime?
I've had a handful of times I've looked to check the time and it is off by at least 5 or 6 hours. The time zone is correct under settings and it eventually fixes itself... but it is really strange. When I send a text while the time is off the time stamp on the text is also off.
What could be a reason if my battery is draining out in 2 -3 hours from (fully)charging. I have all app. closed when this is happening. Also the phone gets very hot during charging occationally. As per the tech at the Apple store the battery seems good.
I have an iphone 4 with 3G from Verizon. I have had this phone since 4/2012 and was working fine. Battery was lasting up to two + days. All of a sudden yesterday it started getting hot and battery was draining in about 4 to 5 hours. I did a reboot this afternoon and phone is now running cooler but battery is still draining quickly. In the last hour it has drained about 20% and i have not been on the phone. I have turned off all apps.
1 week ago my iphone 5 charger is blamed, after my phone battery life is drained quickly within 4 hours. (heating)
ex: if i off the phone in 20% battery life.... when i on the phone.. the phone is totally battery down. i changed new battery also but still like same..Â
I dropped my 18mth old i phone 5 , the screen has smashed, the camera wont work, and it drains bettery in few hours, as well as getting really hot, will apple replace for a fee ?
Do we still need to do a Batterie pull from time to time. I ve installed os .421 and since 15 days i haven t done a pull. I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? Every month?
I have been using my samsung galaxy pretty heavily being as i just got it a week ago. I have noticed with heavy use it does not last me a whole day. Yesterday i let the battery drain all the way out so that i could completely cycle through. It ended up takeing a little over 3 hours to fully charge again. Was curious how many hrs of usage other people are averageing and how many hrs of charge time?
My battery is draining in 8 hours where it used to last longer. I've replaced it twice and I have reason to believe it is the device itself. I have shud down most of the unnessesary functions (ie Wifi, Bluetooth, etc) but the battery still only lasts about 8 hours when doing nothing. What can i do?
This weekend I updated my iPhone 4 (AT&T) and iPad 2 (Verizon 3G, wifi) to 5.1. Since the update (went flawlessly), I have been unable to connect to wifi networks anywhere. All that I get is the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect (but never actually does). I have RESET all Network connections numerous times, did the 'Forget this' connection on everything, etc. They will no longer connect to places that I have always connected to (Home network, CLE Airport, Hilton, Work, etc...). I can connect to all networks fine with my laptop and blackberry, but I just get the constant connection circle with my iPhone and iPad 2. I have tried:
1. Reboot (Soft)
2. Reboot (Hard (Home and Power button)
3. Forget WiFi connection
4. Reset Network Connections
5. Tried 6 different Wireless (wifi) networks that I have always been able to connect to with no luck.
Lost wifi connectivity on 3GS after 5.1.1 OS upgrade. Have tried every remedy, short of wiping my whole phone (have done reboot, backup and restore, reset network settings, reset all settings, etc.). Apple says my "hardware must be broken." Hard to believe, with 350,000 hits with same problem on Google search, just in these few days since upgrade was released. I do not want to wipe my phone and start over (for obvious reasons), nor do I unnecessarily want to purchase a new phone (for even more obvious reasons).

I've upgraded my BB Bold 9900 software to 7.1.0 bundle 1310. Before that my battery lasted for 2 days with moderate use. Now it drains completely in 8 hours, whether the BB turned on or off! Maybe even how I can roll back the upgrade?
My phone hasn't backed up in six weeks. It is on Wi-Fi, plugged in, and locked. Data size is around three gigs. It says estimated time 37 hours, or gets stuck on "estimating backup time." It also Will not work manually. I was also unable to upload a five minute movie.
I recently got an x10 mini and am reasonably happy with it. However, sometimes I find the battery has been completely drained just from sitting in my locker at work for 8 hours. I haven't installed a lot of apps but something is draining it...
Noticed the banner at the top of the screen that displays "Time on Battery" becomes distorted after time. The top right corner of the banner starts to slope down and the blue accent line becomes broken. Seems to have started after the latest update.nyone else noticed this? It appears to become progressively
I had my phone fully charged to 100%.I unplug my phone and put it near my bed as I use it as my alarm. In the morning I get up about 7 hours later to fund the battery had dropped down to 90%...which seemed like a lot.I only have push mail on, and it did download one small message during the time, but that's it.
I just bought the n900 and it's great but I ran into bit of a problem regarding Conversations and SMS. Somehow, every message I recieve is timestamped 5 Hours behind my time. I live in Toronto, Canada and my settings for Time and Date + World Clock are all set to reflect my time zone (+5 GMT) When I reply, it posts the correct time. Example- Me: Hey (05:02 pm) Person: wsup (12:03 pm) Me: nm (05:04 pm) It's quite unpleasant to see the times all messed up. I've double checked all the basic settings and nothing points to a solution.
Is there a way to edit the calendar to show smaller time increments rather than hours? I cant schedule more than one appt in an hour unless i put it somewhere else and then change the time.
Our wireless at work has a mac table setup with unique keys so anytime someone forgets/otherwise screws up their wifi connection they come to have it reset... Everytime I make a comment about how they are really only draining their battery by leaving wifi enabled 24/7 yet they continue to do it..
SO - what do you use WiFi for?
I know there are some (very, very few) apps that require a wifi connection.. Facetime requires WiFi but at this point it's more of a novelty than anything else.. Throughput is a little better but not enough to justify the additional battery drain.. The hotspot app (as soon as the IP4 jailbreak is released..) Checking mail/browsing the net in an area with no at&t service..
That is all that comes to mind.. I think they just like to enable it because they can, but let me know if I'm missing anything?
My iPhone 3GS is set to change time automatically with the Daylight Savings change. That worked as the phone time itself is correct, but the times for the different places in the built-in World Clock app are still off by an hour (they are on the old time). This is also true of my husband's iPhone 3G. Strangely, I have an iPod touch that adjusted both its system time and the World Clock times without difficulty.
I have tried syncing the phone, toggling on/off the update time automatically, and rebooting, but the time is still incorrect. If I try adding a new place, it will also have the wrong time.
There may also be an issue with other apps - the ESPN app had the start time of a game today off by an hour as well.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
Edit: To clarify, the times are wrong for US cities that do observe DST, such as New York, Chicago, etc.
When inputting a time for an appointment or an alarm, th time selection wheel doesnt show 24 hour time format anymore since updating to IOS 5.1. I have an iPhone 4 and the general time setting is on 24 hr time format.
I receive messages from people hours after they tell me they sent them but when I receive them it has the current time listed, as if it was just sent. It would be fantastic to know the msg was sent at 10am and now being 2:30pm, I can have a better reply. It's definitely with the phone, because I know a few of the people have the same service provider but different phones. When messages are received on my wifes phone, it shows when they were sent, not the current time. I've looked at my settings but do not see a way to change this, is there a way?
