Galaxy S5 :: Phone Not Connecting To One Specific WiFi Network?
Mar 23, 2015
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5, and recently updated to Lollipop. Had all the major problems reported, so I did a system restore which fixed a few of them. My most pressing concern, however, is that I can no longer connect to my work WIFI. I had no problems connecting prior to the update. The WIFI is set up where you connect, and then a webpage should open up for you to login to the system. My browser opens, but will not load a page. The progress bar gets stuck on one spot.
I recently got my S5 and my data connectivity has stopped working after I took a flight. I had enabled flight mode on and turned it off when I landed. I'm still in the same country. Before this, I used to only be able to connect to H+ but I'm positive that my data was set to enable 4G LTE. My SIM card works on my old S3 and 4G LTE is being used. I'm not sure what's going on, I've tried resetting my phone a bunch of times and playing with the settings.
I had no issues with this at all until the Lollipop update. I have 1 WIFI network that my phone will connect to and sometimes stay connected with no issues at all, but most of the time it will connect for a couple of minutes and the the network changes to a 'Disabled' status.
I have a 4s and it was dropped since then it will not connect to AT&T network or wifi. I have tried resetting my network and factory settings no luck. Any other possibilities I could try?
My iPhone 4s cannot connect to ANY WiFi network. My ipad, Mac Book Pro all do without any issues, both at home and the office. I've reset all my settings and even reset my phone to factory settings. Iit still won't connect, just a constant spinning wheel looking for a network. Is this something ISO 6 will fix?
I use wifi at home without a problem, at work it tries to connect to the router but it disconnects and tries again in a continuous loop. When somebody with an iphone or ipod wants to join there is no problem so the router works.i reset the router and restarted the phone as well. and it's on dynamic IP. the channel is set to auto, right now it's at 1
I started to ask for help from the forum then solved it my self, so here is the problem AND below, the answer: I am trying to connect my 9300 to my home WiFi network ( LinkSys WRT54GS V4.0 router). The Curve can see my home Network when I scan but the connection brakes immediately, give an error message like it couldn't associate with the network.
I have spent hours waiting for and talking to: Telus: who reviewed my phone setup and told me the problem must be with the cable providerShaw Cable: who told me they had nothing to do with it and it must be a problem with my routerLinkSys: who told me that since my laptop had no problem seeing the internet that it must be my phone.....Then I tried RIM but couldn't find anything of help except (my last hope) the forums, where I found some inspiration and kept lookingMy Black Berry Curve 9300 is set up as follows: Options: Mobile Services > Data Services 'Off' (I don't want to run up big data bills unintentionally with pay-as-you-go data)Options > Advanced > Browser > HotspotUnder Manage Connections:Mobile Network: 'Telus' (has checkmark after),Wi-Fi 'On' (has black box with white line after)Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Active Wi-Fi Connection = None (even after finding & saving my Network profile)Finally, I updated my Router software. It didn't help but I did learned how to back up my settings (Router Software > Administration > Config Management > Backup)
(Settings = all my addresses for the MAC filter etc. & other non default settings I'd made to increase wireless security)
Z2 has work perfectly for months on our work wifi network. One day came up with msg wifi networks available, clicked on it, clicked to connect to saved network, and just says saved and doesn't connect.
Tried forgetting and reconnecting Tried restarts
Defiantly isn't the router as others are connected. Is this a fault where my phone will need to be sent back?
When I'm trying to connect to my home network with wifi with correct username and passwords. Its showing me connecting and then it is getting disconnected automatically after connected.
I'm currently experiencing some problems with my wifi on my xperia z2 and every 2 or 3 seconds my wifi keeps droping out and connecting to the mobile network and i've tried restarting my handset and seems fine for like half hour then it goes back to dropping out now would it be something to do with my software as i'm currently on 5.0.2 or is it best i do a factory reset as i've not done one it like 8 months from when i first got my phone..
Just upgraded from a pearl to a curve and al of a sudden am experiencing this apparently common problem.Sorry if this is a new topic on old subject but I am at end of my tether trying to find a solution. To date I have tried Manual setup Static IP Phone restore Battery removal Sim removal Router Restore So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.
I am trying to get my torch 9810 to connect to my home wi-fi network and get the error "Failed to associate with the network". My wifes curve connects fine, and my old curve connected fine too. i upgraded and restored my data setups etc from a backup, but it hasnt worked since.
1. The phone always keeps connecting to my GPRS network (Tele2). When I go to the connections I can see that connection being active and transferring some data (not much, it's almost always at 7 kb). When I put my phone on the table I can hear that strange radio sound on the speakers (=some radio activity from my phone). I checked but there are no other programs that require the connection. I'm not using any email account on the messages menu.
2. Same thing happened when I connected to my neighbour's wlan. It always keeps connecting to it, even after I go to the wlan menu and disconnect it. It just refreshes and goes all the way again to connect to it by any means possible.
I HATE Picasa, but don't want to delete ALL the photos, because that is the only place on my phone that they're stored. Is it possible to select specific pictures in Picasa, and delete them? (Where's the dang "delete" garbage can icon, like with regular photos????
I have an AirPort extreme and two AirPort expresses. I have never had any issues. Now, my iPhone 4 and 4s will not connect to wifi. However, my PC and iPad will connect without any issue. I have tried resetting the network, routers, and cable modem. I have also tried resetting the iPhone network settings as indicated in the discussions. I've looked at the airport Utility and and only strange item I notice is that the AirPort Express is broadcasting on the 5GHZ channel, which I understand the iPhones only work at 4GHZ. I'm out of options.
My S6 is connected to the works Wi-fi and it will simply just not connect to the internet. I have full admin rights to surf the net. I have restarted the router. I have checked that my time date is correct and still not working.
I've had my Galaxy S II for 5 months now and have always gotten it connected to my home's wifi. Now for some reason it's not connecting. My wifi is up and running fine (connected on my PC as I type this), the password is set fine for the Galaxy, but instead of connecting, Settings only says "Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2" after clicking "Connect". Signal strength is noted as "Excellent". I've tried re-entering the password several times, but the same results every time.
I've just bought my first Samsung Galaxy S2 and love it to bits. The only problem I've encountered in the three days I've had it is that it won't connect via wifi to my home computer (a Mac). With my Mac's 'Airport' and 'Internet Sharing' turned on, my boyfriend can connect to wifi from the Mac to his iPhone but my S2 refuses to connect. Once I turn on wifi on the S2, under 'Wi-Fi networks' it brings up my computer and my neighbours' wifi networks. I click on my computer's name, type in the password, but then it just cycles from 'Scanning...', 'Connecting..' to 'Disconnected'. I've spent hours trawling Google for a solution. Under the 'Advanced' wifi settings I selected 'Use static IP' (but I'm not convinced I put in the right numbers under 'IP address', 'Gateway', 'Netmask' and 'DNS'). I don't know if it makes a difference but in System Preferences > Network > Airport, it says 'Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet'. But my computer is clearly visible on the wifi network because my boyfriend could connect wifi from my computer to his iPhone.
I'm having troubles with my WiFi connection. After connecting it works for about 15 minutes then while browsing the net the bar will stop and the page won't load. After that nothing will connect. Mobile data works fine. I've tried turning off phone and turning back on, as well as "forgetting" router and then reconnecting.
I turn the WiFi off in the notification panel, but it keeps turning on and connecting to a WiFi signal I don't want it to. Even if I tell it to forget that network, it pops up again and connects to it.
My Verizon Galaxy S6 is auto turning itself on and auto connecting to wifi networks. I have all options in the advance settings for wifi turned off and it still auto connects.
Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.
I'm a new android user. The problem I'm having is that when my wifi drops out or if I come home the Internet on my phone does not switch back from mobile data to wifi. I'm with bigpond and I have put the password into my phone and I don't need to put the password in each time but when I go to wifi settings it says sign in required and I press connect and the wifi turns on. As soon as I come home or the Internet drops out it switched back to 3G and doesn't connect back to wifi unless I do what I mentioned above.
The advanced setting on the wifi are Proxy-none Ip settings DHCP Signal strength- very strong Security wpa2 psk
I also have the smart network switch toggled to off. I have reset my telstra router.
I've wasted a lot of my mobile data this week before I realised that when I left the house or the net dropped out my phone was staying on 3G and not switching back to wifi the way my iPhone and every other phone I've owned did.
I bought the Samsung S2 GT-I9100 a couple of days ago for my birthday. Everything is working perfectly, including 3G internet. However, there is a problem with my WIFI. It connects to the network, but nothing loads on the internet browser, or on any other app that uses the internet. I've tried a few different networks and have had the same problem. I'm running 4.0.3.
When I leave home and return, I have to manually connect back to my home wifi. From what I remember, it used to do that all by itself and connect with any other network that I've connected to in the past automatically. It no longer does that. I'm not finding any answers on Google that work.
Throughout the course on the day my moto x(2014) connects to 4 different wifi networks. All networks are secure and the passwords are stored on my device. When i leave one wifi network and move in range of another network my device isn't automatically connecting to the next network till i wake the phone up with the power bottom or unlock the device. Am i wrong in thinking it should connect automatically as soon as the phone is in range of the closest network? the only thing i have tried is running the phone in safe mode but it still didn't "auto-connect".
