Ever since I got my Sprint Galaxy S5 phone, it drops it's Wifi connection constantly. I have taken the phone back to Sprint and they assure me that it is fine. However, in the mean time it is still dropping the Wifi and now i am getting charged over usage charges for going over my 1GB limit..
I got the xperia z5 for Christmas and noticed that the WiFi was almost constantly dropping during use. I brought the phone back and got a replacement but it occurs with the new one too as it seems its a well known problem.
Basically, my wifi just drops during use and it requires me to turn wifi off and back on again so it will reconnect. I could easily do this 5 times within a couple of minutes, other times it will barely happen.
Since yesterday morning now both wifi and 3g have been dropping like mad on my phone--the icon will just disappear and I will have no internet signal at all, and sometimes orange will completely drop out (which is normal because my house gets bad reception in some areas. Sometimes the circle appears and I can get a slow connection for a moment before everything completely drops. The phone is only 4 months old and hasn't been dropped at all. I've tried the drain battery option and the airplane also one, but nothing is working at all.
I have the Xoom 2 WiFi 3g 32GB and it constantly drops my home network wifi connection.
It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Tried both WPA and WPA2, tried the Xoom with a static IP and tried rebooting both devices.Xoom is on Honeycomb 3.2.2, system version 0.268.4.MZ616.AsiaRetail.en.03 and wifi disconnect policy is set to never.
Have noticed that my Photon can't seem to hold a WIFI connection. I can be sitting right next to my router, and it will drop the connection and start scanning again. Have noticed the same thing with other wifi connections at work. Also the WIFI connection sometimes goes dormant/gray and won't wake up on its own. The only solution is to turn the wifi connection off/on, or to cycle the power on the router. Not sure if its a setting that kills the connection after a period of inactivity, have looked in the settings but can't seem to find anything. I have had this problem pre and post update, but am frustrated as I've just passed my 30 days to return the phone easily if something is wrong with the phone.
My S5 constantly drops calls. I have done a search and I do not have HD voice. My mobile network is set to Global. The signal strength will fluctuate wildly from 4 bars to 0 and drop. happening at least 50% of time. Many iphones in the house no dropped calls.
It seems that when I am connected to any WiFi network (home or work) my phone will constantly switch between 4G and WiFI. The only way I have been able to work around this issue is by disabling Mobile Data while I am on WiFi and disabling Smart Network Switch.
my galaxy s2 has stopped me looking at the media files on my phone though my PC. everytime i try to transfer a video or open the photos folder it just drops connection. ive tried it though kies too all latest updates installed. but as soon has i transfer a film or music it just drops, then reconnects asking me what i want to do.
I've found my wifi connection at home to be dropping non-stop, and then immediately reconnecting. It's only happening on my S6 edge. Even though my wife's phone (and my laptop) stay connected, I reset the router. Nothing. I also cleared my cache. Smart Network Switch has been off to preserve battery life.
Would rather not factory reset, but will if that's my only option.
Having problem with Lollipop and the WiFi connection getting dropped. Last night I was browsing the web on my S4 and noticed that the WiFi connection kept dropping in an out! Rebooted and did a cache wipe! Seems to be ok now but will wait and see. Still not convinced I shouldn't just flash this thing back to 4.4.2
I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff. However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read? The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.
My s2 keeps freezing, has constant drag and is just being a tad bit annoying.
i bought the phone new, i had rooted it and put a custom rom on. the custom rom ran fine for months so i doubt that is was a dodgy rom. then one day i just started getting these problems. so i took off the rooted rom, and when the problem was still there i unrooted (if that is the term) and rebooted to factory settings. i still have the problem though.
I've set up my E75 to use Spotify Mobile over wifi to synchronize music without going over the 3G-net costing lots. But it drops the connection constantly and it seems to coincide pretty much with the powersave functionality of the phone.
-Phone firmware is 201.12.01
-The connection is a WPA2-PSK to a Netgear WGR614
-I have tried various channles but the problem remains.
-I have tried changing to WPA-PSK and Unprotected, but to no good.
-Signalstrength of wireless connection reports around 70-80%.
-If there are no active traffic on connection it seems to stay online but when the traffic start the connection drops.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently I went for a overseas trip and connected to wifi in hotel over there. After I came back, I found there is no way to forget the saved wifi as I could not find it in my Wifi network list. There is a menu icon to see Saved Wifi when goes to Wifi Setting for the other mobile phone with Android Lollipop from other manufacturer, but that icon is missing from Samsung Galaxy S6. Is there any other way for me to forget those wifi networks saved in other place?
I have a samsung galaxly s5 and my computer is connected to wifi but my phone continually goes to 4g using up my plan and if I chose my personal wifi address it wont connect to wifi some said to delete the other people addresses showing up on my wifi list.
Few days ago I purchased SGS II, and few days later I purchased a Prolink USB Wireless Network Adapter To Create Wi-Fi connection between my pc internet and my mobile. and I am succeed
so, now my phone use my pc internet via wi-fi.
but I notice it only use for internet connection.
what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
I recently moved to android phones and I don't know the OS yet.I have an issue with my new S5. When I am connected to wifi at work, it's constantly downloading something (30kb/s~70kb/s - from Internet Speed Meter), with everything turned off - sync, auto update, back up...
The interesting thing is that only happens when I am connected to wifi at work. Transfer rate is down to zero when I am on LTE and at home, wifi transfer is within normal range. I mostly have download and very little upload recorded by the speed meter. I checked the OS update and it is up to date, so no OS download. I installed battery doctor, clean master and cm security and with everything turned off manually and by these apps, I still have this constant internet traffic over wifi.
Just to make an idea about what I am talking here: over weekend I had 135mb (wifi at home) and only Monday I had 731mb (wifi at work) and 50mb (wifi at home)
When I look at Data Usage, first line is Android OS.
What can I do to stop this transfer? Can it be something from work? Can it be something from my phone? I am thinking to do a factory reset, but the phone is just 1 month old.
I've only had the phone a couple of days and I downloaded 3g Watchdog to keep an eye on my data usage and noticed that my total has been increasing even though I'm not surfing, emailing or downloading. Is there anything I could switch off so that the data usage only increases when I actually DO something?
I just upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S2 to ICS (XEU version) and since then the Android email application has been constantly downloading data in the background. It's used 500mb in 24 hours, although it's only downloaded a few hundred kb of emails.
Samsung want me to take it to a service centre to flash ICS off and re-install it, but the nearest place is miles away. how I can stop this because it's now gone over my data cap on my phone contract? I've no idea how to uninstall ICS myself!
I've started playing online games more recently. Very often, while Im in the games, it will say it is searching for the network, or it is doesn't have a network connection.I've switched to WiFi when I can, and still have the issue.I've noticed when I look at he phone now, the 4G symbol is white, then turns blue.seem to remember it always being blue.Does it sound like it's the games having the issue, the games causing the issue, or an issue with the phone?I would prefer to NOT do a hard reset. It always takes me about 2 or more hours to get the phone back the way I want it.Is anyone noticing the same thing, or does anyone have any thoughts
When my phone is in 4G or on WiFi the upload and download arrows are constantly lit up making it seem like the phone is moving data non stop. This is killing my battery life.
I "think" this is the trigger. When I'm on a call my phone will drop the connection to the car handsfree link and revert to the phone (you can still see the bluetooth icon lit) whenever I receive a notification for anything. If it's a text, email, or whatever the call will suddenly cut out go to the phone and then 10 seconds later or so reconnect to the car stereo.
I will sometimes be redirected to the play store looking at some random app, but usually chrome opens up to some page along the lines of "congratulations you've won!" or "warning! your phone has a virus" etc.. This has been going on for months and I'm still not sure what triggers it. It usually happens right when I open up an app (no specific one, happens to all of them as far as I can tell) or after I've been using an app for a short amount of time, or when I'm using chrome. So far I have tried clearing the cache and data on chrome and running an addons detector, both to no avail. (no problematic apps were detected)
I have a Bold 9900 and my carrier is Rogers. The phone is about 6 months old. I use wifi and don't have a data plan, but my wifi keeps dropping. It is notjust at my house, but anywhere I access a wifi signal. It will drop the signal, pick it up again and continue to drop it. I have tried doing a battery pull but that did not work. My wife's BB Curve is having no problems, nor is my Playbook.
