Nokia Lumia :: Maps Download Fails On 610?
Dec 13, 2012I purchased a Nokia 610 today and am trying to download the UK maps in Nokia Drive. Have setup WiFi. Select the UK (All) map to download.At random points throughout the download process the app crashes and returns me back to the start screen.
I have removed and reinstalled the app with no change.

Mar 4, 2010I recently bought a Nokia 6700 with maps preinstalled. I updated the firmware to the latest version and now the maps application has disappeared. I do not have the software and I cannot download it from the Nokia site, as it sais that on the 6700 model it is pre-installed.How can I get the maps program back on my phone?

Feb 5, 2010I wonder why I cannot download the new maps app. I have now (after upgrading to new SW v. 20 and hard reset) 29.8 Mb of free space on C and yet it fails....Could that be due to the fact that I deleted ( by ignorance ) some files on C when the previous SW version was running ? But since then I have reloaded the new SW version....I am at a loss...! Would somebody know how to make it work?

Apr 15, 2010When I turn my N86 RM-485 v21.006 on I get a message stating there is an important update,, update now? When I select Yes, I get o the update screen and it shows the Ovi Maps with free navigation update. I select download and then update. It downloads fine, but the install fails. I've turned the phone off several times with no success.

Aug 30, 2011I have nokia 5230 and a serious problem. After about one year of usage, the offline search of street names just did not work any more. I have made a complete software update yesterday. The new navigator said, there were no maps on my phone. When trying to download country maps, at about 40 % the grey downloading indicator at the bottom disappears and green download clock starts turning and turning and turning, nothing happens any more (every time same scenario). I have the newest ovi suite, even uninstalled and reinstalled it yesterday. Naigation was actually the only feature I use frequently.

Mar 16, 2010I was not able to download Nokia OVI Suite since Friday (12march10). Result was always the same: stop at 99%. I've tried different browsers with no success. Seems like sum hashes doesn't match. Meanwhile I've downloaded many other files from other sites without problem. I don`t believe the problem is in my comp. Apr 27, 2010About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?
Nokia Music :: OVI Download Fails Unless Using GPRS / 3G On N8
Feb 28, 2011I've just gotten a nokia N8 and have unlimited music dowloads from Ovi Music for six months with my package. For the past week or so I have been downloading music onto my phone using my home WAN conection. And onto my laptop using my home WAN connection. I also download onto the same laptop using my LAN at work. For the past 3 days now, however, I am unable to download any songs or albums from Ovi Music unless I use the data package on my phone (3G / GPRS).
If I use the WAN or LAN (phone or laptop) I get the error message "download failed - failed to access server". I've changed nothing in my settings - nothing at all. I don't have a problem accessing the internet on my cellphone using the WAN connection, however. It just seems to be a problem with Ovi suddenly. Because I don't want to use my data package to download music and software - It's more economical using the WAN or LAN.

Nov 3, 2011I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.

Jan 21, 2010I was thrilled to read that finally, Nokia Maps were unexpectedly free. I looked for a download link for my N78 and eventually found one on the Nokia site, so I downloaded the new Map Updater App.
1) While trying to install the maps, the installer prompted me that there wasn't enough space available. I searched my phone and erased as much as possible.
2) At the same time, I installed the new PC Suite. As a result, after restart, my N78 isn't recognized anymore by the computer.
So here my two questions again: how do I restore connectivity between my PC (running XP SP3) and my phone and how do I install those maps?

May 15, 2010Can someone tell me how to download maps to the N900. Please don't tell me the only way to use maps is over a wifi or packet connection! Now I connect to my PC and go to maps on Ovi suite and it won't let me doownload any maps, what am I doing wrong? I have tried deleting the cities folder and the other file on the handset first and then retrying etc but nothing seems to work.

Nokia Navigation :: Cannot Download Maps On 700
Nov 8, 2012Maps kept crashing on me. My one year warranty just expired. I'm so fed up with this phone. ANYWAY, I was using the GPS when it failed on me and decided to restore my phone. After doing that, I tried to install maps and now my phone tells me that there is not enough space on my phone. I says it needs well over 3000MBs of space. My memory card has at least that much on it. How do I get Maps to download onto my memory card?
What else could I do? I don't think my phone has enough memory with nothing installed on it to get all of the USA (but I had it all on my phone before I restored it, in addition to Mexico and Canada).

May 22, 2012I looked through the faqs and it said to go to update and add map while in the app. I can't find anything in the app that will let me update -__- Do I have to be connected to the pc? I can't run Zune because I don't have SP3. I would like to just use my wifi connection for this.

Jul 4, 2010I have recently upgraded my firmware on an E71 (Orange UK) I can download maps via the wifi as I need them, but am having unknown errors when I try to load maps via OVI Suite - again latest version . There is plenty of space on my memory card. The recommended course of action is to delete the CITIES folder and the qf file. The latter is fine, but with 'CITIES' I get messages like 'the folder is not empty'. Folders that seem empty are said not to be, and folders the appear to be there and empty 'can't be found'. At present I have some of the contents of the cities folder deleted but not all of it. Is there a workaround for this?

Mar 9, 2010being on the business trip, I updated firmware on my E66 last night. After that I realized, that the map software distributed with the new firmware is old (2.0 or older), and doesn't even work, I got only notice I am supposed to download the new version. Before the update, I was using Ovi Maps 3.0 with paid navigation. Now the Maps Updater seems to have problem to download the Ovi Maps, I tried this on several internet connections already. Nov 19, 2012I just received a Lumia 900 and updated to the latest firmware and am having troubles downloading maps on nokia drive, both on the 2.0 and now 3.0. It says I need to be on wifi to download, however I am on wifi and I can access the web, email and every other function on my phone, except download maps on Nokia Drive as it doesn't recognize I am online on wifi however drive does work only it updates the map in realtime so I can't use the maps offline as it does not allow me to download offline maps. When I uninstall drive and then reinstall the app I can download from the maps for countries that do not have regions such as hong kong, however if I select US or China, a large country where you have to select the region the region/state page is blank. I have already tried soft and hard resetting to no avail and also tried different wifi networks with the results.
