Nov 29, 2011The latest Nokia Maps update refuses to install either via Nokia Suite or OTA (version 3.8.105) but simply says that something went wrong/isntall failed and doesn't even report an error code. I installed another update for the phone 1 week or so ago and Maps wouldn't connect to a GPS-satellite and thus was unable to navigate but this seems to have corrected itself with the reset. I've tried soft resetting and returning the phone to factory settings but the update still refuses to download and install.

Apr 27, 2010About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?

Nov 3, 2011I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.

Jan 21, 2010I was thrilled to read that finally, Nokia Maps were unexpectedly free. I looked for a download link for my N78 and eventually found one on the Nokia site, so I downloaded the new Map Updater App.
1) While trying to install the maps, the installer prompted me that there wasn't enough space available. I searched my phone and erased as much as possible.
2) At the same time, I installed the new PC Suite. As a result, after restart, my N78 isn't recognized anymore by the computer.
So here my two questions again: how do I restore connectivity between my PC (running XP SP3) and my phone and how do I install those maps?

Sep 11, 2011With the old version of maps I believe that when you chose "Walk" it would provide a path though streets and footpaths from Origin to Destination.Today, in central London I wanted to walk just over 1/2 mile (1km) and asked Maps for a route. It provided one - a straight line between start and destination and not suggesting which streets to use &c.What is teh point of a function if it does not calculate the route?

Now I connect to my PC and go to maps on Ovi suite and it won't let me doownload any maps, what am I doing wrong? Nov 8, 2012Maps kept crashing on me. My one year warranty just expired. I'm so fed up with this phone. ANYWAY, I was using the GPS when it failed on me and decided to restore my phone. After doing that, I tried to install maps and now my phone tells me that there is not enough space on my phone. I says it needs well over 3000MBs of space. My memory card has at least that much on it. How do I get Maps to download onto my memory card?
What else could I do? I don't think my phone has enough memory with nothing installed on it to get all of the USA (but I had it all on my phone before I restored it, in addition to Mexico and Canada).

Jul 4, 2010I have recently upgraded my firmware on an E71 (Orange UK) I can download maps via the wifi as I need them, but am having unknown errors when I try to load maps via OVI Suite - again latest version . There is plenty of space on my memory card. The recommended course of action is to delete the CITIES folder and the qf file. The latter is fine, but with 'CITIES' I get messages like 'the folder is not empty'. Folders that seem empty are said not to be, and folders the appear to be there and empty 'can't be found'. At present I have some of the contents of the cities folder deleted but not all of it. Is there a workaround for this?

After that I realized, that the map software distributed with the new firmware is old (2.0 or older), and doesn't even work, I got only notice I am supposed to download the new version. Before the update, I was using Ovi Maps 3.0 with paid navigation. Now the Maps Updater seems to have problem to download the Ovi Maps, I tried this on several internet connections already. Nov 19, 2012I just received a Lumia 900 and updated to the latest firmware and am having troubles downloading maps on nokia drive, both on the 2.0 and now 3.0. It says I need to be on wifi to download, however I am on wifi and I can access the web, email and every other function on my phone, except download maps on Nokia Drive as it doesn't recognize I am online on wifi however drive does work only it updates the map in realtime so I can't use the maps offline as it does not allow me to download offline maps. When I uninstall drive and then reinstall the app I can download from the maps for countries that do not have regions such as hong kong, however if I select US or China, a large country where you have to select the region the region/state page is blank. I have already tried soft and hard resetting to no avail and also tried different wifi networks with the results.

I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.

What happens is, the music goes silent on the FM, the voice instruction and the music is played on the phone speakers (or Bluetooth device, if connected), then at the completion of the instruction the music goes back through the FM transmitter again.

I can't seem to have a way of downloading the Europe maps, when I go to the Pc Suite mode, the phone drive is visible and download is almost possible but when I choose a map, even a small one, the disc space information shows e.g. -53MB available space. I figure that if all the roadways of every country in the world only occupy about 7-8GB on my 32GB drive, adding the terrain of the remaining unpaved/uninhabited regions of the world shouldn't add that much more.Or, at least less than I have available room on my drive.
