I have just got checked my SW update and it saids I can download the new ovi maps3.3 but comes up with failed when I try and download it. So
I have gone on nokia and downloaded the N97 mini but it dont show me the paths thro the park and ally ways. It takes me the long way round only shows me the roads when im on walk mood :S. and dont show me the 3D land marks =S.
I have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBoth PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until I updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week. Now, whenever I start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine. Here is the error message pop-up on the screen when Ovi crashed.
"Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is actually provided and the only option is to "Close program". Here is the windows error log :

This is what i did so far :
i) Uninstall Ovi , re-download from Nokia web, reinstall : Failed to fix
ii) Uninstall Ovi and all Nokia related software , clean Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800. I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.
About a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?
How do find out when new maps have been released?

N97 sim free (on Orange), version 2.0 software. Updated to OVI maps, the free ones from this site. Installed ok. When I open the app, it opens fine, then closes by itself after about 10 seconds! I have deleted and re-installed the software, I deleted the CIties file and QF files.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
My wife and I live in Beijing now, the GPS of N97i and N97mini are really useful for us. However, I have to say, we often suffer "no place founded" when we wanna drive to even a famous car shop. In Nokia Ovi maps, size of Beijing map is only 25M, but in Route66, size is about 60M, which is quite easy for us to find even small place. Nokia should update the maps locally and timely. Nokia China team should take care of China maps to give a better user experience.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI got the Nokia e63 in April 2010. One of the things I did first was:
1. Update Ovi Store app on the phone
2. Ran Nokia Maps on the phone (applicaiton already on the phone) or downloaded Ovi Maps from the Ovi Store - cant remember.
3. Regardless of how I did (2) I managed to install country maps for specific areas (US New York, UK etc) by using Ovi PC Suite
So all ok so far. Now I started putting more applications and games on the phone but it kept getting slower and slower - to a point it would not render the screen properly or mix two screens into one. I have a 2 gig memory card in it with only less than 20% in use - the phone memory had over 80Meg free. So really could not understand why it performed so badly. Anyway I spent several hours resetting the phoning and doing all the above again - but OVi Maps does not install any more (I get Installation Failed message).
To add more headache - the internet was very slow and I had to attempt several times to update Ovi Store after each reset - finally gave up and had to use a WLAN connection. When I go to the Ovi Store web site on my pc and find Ovi Maps - there is now a message saying its not available for e63. Yet that was not what I recall because I have installed Ovi Maps on the phone before and installed the additional country maps on several occassions (the last one being as recent as May 2010 - last month) All of a sudden Ovi Maps is not compatible with the Nokia E63? The Ovi Store app on the phone gives no indication of compatibilty issue with the phone - so you can keep downloading it and using up your internet allowance and it keeps failing to install without giving any useful message.
I have a Nokia N97 with Map Version 0.1.24.114 installed (clicking About in Maps also shows v3.03 so I am not sure which one is the one i should refer to). I get a text notification from Nokia saying I have a map update so I check software update and indeed version 3.04(165) is there but I cannot update> Please advise. My navigation and turn-by-turn guidance (as well as weather, lonely planet and events) all work but I want to have the latest maps version for accuracy.
View 30 Replies View RelatedSo I have older version of Nokia Maps running on my N96.I wanted to remove it.I couldn't see it via App Manager, but I thought I can remove it by clicking on Options --> Remove from the menu.I get "Remove Failed" everytime I do this. Is there another way of doing this? I don't really want to format my memory card for this.

I have since updated to firmware v2.1, done a hard reset and reformatted my device. Attempting an over the air update get the message "update failed"! Only app I have listed as installed is the ovi store client.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI think I have broken Ovi Maps search. The problem happened when I chose to clear device. Settings ->task manager -> clear device
Ovi maps then failed to return any kind of search results even as general as Stuttgart to as precise as street names. I then proceeded to reflash to PR1.2 using flasher 3.5.exe and reflashed the vanilla eMMC as found in maemo dev repository. The problem persists. Even after loading some maps using the Map Loader, the problem persists. I think I have cleared some indexing capability of the device.
I can not update the maps ovi 3.04 because fault in installation of new software (error number 5). This happens after updating v 50 in NOKIA 5800.

View 11 Replies View Relatedim facing a problem with installin the ovi maps.. yesterday i deleted the nokia maps from the application manager tab in the settings as an error kept coming asking to move or delete items from C: as memory was full.. i deleted the nokia maps alone cos of which 15 mb of free space was there in C:.. so i decided to update the ovi maps again but it kept on getting failed... i tried in the nokia ovi suite n the software updater as well by connecting the phone to my pc.. it says maps couldnt be installed as there is a missing dependency..
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Nokia maps on my E71, and I have updated to the latest version, which deleted the maps present on the phone. I now cannot load any maps onto it. While connected to my PC the maps application says that the maps on my phone are corrupt, but I cannot delete them, or load new ones. I have tried deleting the cities folder, and deleting the qf file, but get the same error. I also reinstalled Ovi suite on my PC, same error. I cannot uninstall the maps app on my phone.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've recently updated my firmware version to 05.15, and upon starting Maps (sorry I don't know which version I have currently), I get an error saying "Cannot open application. Get latest version from nokia.com/maps". I've downloaded the appropriate file (selected using the tool on the website), but I cannot install version 3.01 as my phone will not install a .sis file. Is there a .sisx version of Maps which I'm obviously not seeing somewhere? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
