Nokia :: N85 - Updated Maps Application / Added Voice Navigation Closes Maps
Feb 4, 2010I have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?

Jun 9, 2010have just updated maps to 3.04,ive had a look in app mngr and there is all this glup that i probably dont need and would just like to get some space back for phone.i have deleted the share location stuff,but wondred if there was anything else i could delete safely without compromising the maps.here is whats left after deleting share location etc etc.

Nokia :: N97 - Updated OVI Maps Application Closes By Itself
Feb 7, 2010N97 sim free (on Orange), version 2.0 software. Updated to OVI maps, the free ones from this site. Installed ok. When I open the app, it opens fine, then closes by itself after about 10 seconds! I have deleted and re-installed the software, I deleted the CIties file and QF files.

Apr 6, 2010My wife and I live in Beijing now, the GPS of N97i and N97mini are really useful for us. However, I have to say, we often suffer "no place founded" when we wanna drive to even a famous car shop. In Nokia Ovi maps, size of Beijing map is only 25M, but in Route66, size is about 60M, which is quite easy for us to find even small place. Nokia should update the maps locally and timely. Nokia China team should take care of China maps to give a better user experience.

Aug 30, 2010Open the Maps application on N96, then select "Options" -> "My position", the application will show a Red Circle on the Map to indicate the current position, and the position is correct, but when I walk to another street, then select again "Options" -> "My position", found that the Red Circle is still on the previous street. May 7, 2010I am a foreigner in Thailand. I just want to ask that why all these road and rivers on these maps used to be right when it's been charged while been wrong when it's free? I updated my 5800 few days ago, and then I found out that the map on my phone said I can't get to the main road because there's nothing connected between them? If u check the map, at the address: bangkok HuaMak Ramkhamhaeng 24 Yaek 34, compare with google maps on same location, you will see that according to the maps on the phone there's no way out. Where's al these river's been gone? Yesterday, I went to the center of Bangkok to exchange some money, when I came back by doing boat, the river on my location is gone. Please, I want the old map, the maps that been charged.

Jun 20, 2010I have been using Nokia maps on my E71, and I have updated to the latest version, which deleted the maps present on the phone. I now cannot load any maps onto it. While connected to my PC the maps application says that the maps on my phone are corrupt, but I cannot delete them, or load new ones. I have tried deleting the cities folder, and deleting the qf file, but get the same error. I also reinstalled Ovi suite on my PC, same error. I cannot uninstall the maps app on my phone.

Jun 11, 2010I've recently updated my firmware version to 05.15, and upon starting Maps (sorry I don't know which version I have currently), I get an error saying "Cannot open application. Get latest version from nokia.com/maps". I've downloaded the appropriate file (selected using the tool on the website), but I cannot install version 3.01 as my phone will not install a .sis file. Is there a .sisx version of Maps which I'm obviously not seeing somewhere? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Jun 19, 2012I recently reinstalled the firmware to my E90 Communicator but now I can't find the latest Maps application (3.01) anywhere. After the reinstallation my device only has the 2.0 Maps.
Both the firmware of the device and my Nokia Suite are the latest versions available. I sent Nokia an email and they replied that the Maps can be downloaded thru Nokia Suite, but I don't see any download links there.
Nokia Store's website simply states that the (newest) Maps application is not available for the E90 - but none of the older versions can be found. The same goes for Mail for Exchange - that was lost in the process as well and no longer available for this model from Nokia.

May 14, 2010I am a enthousiastic new owner of a Nokia 5800 XM. However I have a problem that ik cannot get resolved. It's about map Loader. I am able to connect my phone to teh mac using USB or Bluetooth and transfer my music and photo's using Nokia multemedia transfer and my contacts via iSync. However i am not able to update my maps using Map Loader. When I start map Loader I get a short notice of a message that the maps on my 5800 are aoutdated and that they wil have to be updated. Yes please, that is what ik really want! But then I get the following error message:
"Map catalogue loading failed." map Loader could't download the list of avaliable map regions. Possible causes include a lack of network connectivity or a problem on the maps server".

Aug 6, 2010It used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.
