I have just performed a firmware update and have downloaded and installed all other SW updates available, however although it has downloaded Ovi Maps 3.3 will not install.
View 7 RepliesI have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedN97 sim free (on Orange), version 2.0 software. Updated to OVI maps, the free ones from this site. Installed ok. When I open the app, it opens fine, then closes by itself after about 10 seconds! I have deleted and re-installed the software, I deleted the CIties file and QF files.

I updated my 5800 few days ago, and then I found out that the map on my phone said I can't get to the main road because there's nothing connected between them? If u check the map, at the address: bangkok HuaMak Ramkhamhaeng 24 Yaek 34, compare with google maps on same location, you will see that according to the maps on the phone there's no way out. Where's al these river's been gone? Yesterday, I went to the center of Bangkok to exchange some money, when I came back by doing boat, the river on my location is gone. Please, I want the old map, the maps that been charged.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been using Nokia maps on my E71, and I have updated to the latest version, which deleted the maps present on the phone. I now cannot load any maps onto it. While connected to my PC the maps application says that the maps on my phone are corrupt, but I cannot delete them, or load new ones. I have tried deleting the cities folder, and deleting the qf file, but get the same error. I also reinstalled Ovi suite on my PC, same error. I cannot uninstall the maps app on my phone.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've recently updated my firmware version to 05.15, and upon starting Maps (sorry I don't know which version I have currently), I get an error saying "Cannot open application. Get latest version from nokia.com/maps". I've downloaded the appropriate file (selected using the tool on the website), but I cannot install version 3.01 as my phone will not install a .sis file. Is there a .sisx version of Maps which I'm obviously not seeing somewhere? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Nokia Maps 9MB
Ovi Maps 7MB
Are they supposed to be both there? Shouldn't the Nokia Maps application have been overwritten when updated to Ovi Maps? Can I manually remove the Nokia Maps application to free these 9MB of C: memory?
I my dad recently bought the Nokia N8 after playing about with mine, I recieved the phone unlocked and set about setting it up for him, though i'm having foul problems with the maps! i've installed them, re-installed them, uninstalled and then reinstalled again and no luck, there wasn't even a Maps icon any time it was installed, but on my Nokia N8 when it was installed if went straight onto my home screen? how can I finally download these maps to this phone for my dad? he's starting to become really impatient because he needs to use the maps for his job
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.

I have a problem with my Maps Application. Firstly I only have 9 icons on the Maps display page instead of the 10 that is shown on the Nokia website, I have found I do not have the Michelin guides........any ideas why?
I cannot download the Here and Now 2.0, it states that the Installation failed and have tried many times to reinstall it. Does this have anything to do with the missing Michelin Guide icon not being there?

2. Once the installed maps are read from the phone, Ovi tells me that 'Updated maps are available'. Clicking on this message Ovi the pointer changes to a combined left-right arrow and stays there.
3. Now Ovi goes and reads the phone again, looking for installed maps - this time it takes LONGER, before I have the option to update my maps. This process of course takes forever too, but at least this is understandable - loading large files takes time.
4. I have the maps of the US; Canada; UK Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland installed. Which one(s) will be updated?
5. Also I am back from Europe, I no longer need the Irish maps. Why can't I selectively delete/de-install them? Why do I have to delete ALL maps and reload the US and Canada?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the Ovi Suite on my PC, connected my E71. That worked. Then downloaded Ovi Maps. It just places it on my desktop but doesn't do anything with it. So I decided to copy that file to my phone (mem card), and hit Install on the nokia_maps_3.03_10wk11_b04_s60_3.1_rom.Nocs.sis under App. Manager. It does lots of things that you would expect when something is installing, but then it ends. The application still says Not Installed, and there is no trace of the installed application anywhere else. When I then go into the Ovi Suite it doesn't tell or show anything remotely related to installing the app of cards, while I though a Maps Installer would kick in. Just tells me it's not installed and redirects me to this site for online surveys and online surveys.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the N97, to be honest i'm starting to regret buying it as it appears to be one prolem after another. Anyway this problem surrounds the new maps 3.03 with free voice navigation that has been released. I have installed it numerous times but it starts for 20 seconds then switches back to the menu screen. I have uninstalled maps, done a factory restore on the phone and reistalled the operating system all to no avail. Is there anything else that can be done. I am in Ireland.

Although there is still some functionality at "macro" level (I can see towns and major roads), as soon as i try to get down to streetlevel it all goes "blank".I tried to remove the installed software to start again, but clearly i mustn't be able to remove everything and files must be hidden somewhere as the application is still there.what can I do?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using N97 rom 02-Aug-09. everything was working fine untill i notice tht my phone memory is getting filled up although i never installed any application & i hv set my default memory as mass memory from the very beginning. for nokia care in india the only solution is format/soft.update. moreover they couldn't even trace where the memory is occupying so that it could be set free.
