Nokia Lumia :: Maps Does Not Display Places On 710?
Jan 6, 2013I am using Nokia Drive and Maps on Lumia 710. Say I want to go to a school in a particular area. I need to search for the name of that school and only then set my location. If I try to zoom in to that area on the map, I do not see the school or other places of interest/businesses in that area. This is irritating as in google maps, if I zoom into a location, I get all the businesses/areas on interest in that area. Am I missing something?. If not, then nokia maps needs to have this feature as it is very useful.

I've turned it on it the advanced options and still it sends a message that "your location is temporaryily unavailable' and on BB maps, it just sits trying to find satillites.

Nov 19, 2012I often use You Tube Downloader to fill my phone with videos to keep the kids happy, but when I've downloaded them, the Kids Corner section on my Lumia 920 doesn't find the downloads. I've tried looking on the phone for a file manager function, but can't find one.
1. how do I get it to recognise downloaded videos?

How do I get these files in my music? When I download images, docs etc from email/apps, I usually get option : 'save to phone', but the same option is not available for Music files.

Jul 21, 2010I recently sent my phone off to be repaired, they couldn't and I was sent a brand new one in replacement (sorry, it's an N97). I've just come to install the UK maps on my device and it's only 160mb. Is this right, since last time I installed the UK maps it was well over 1GB. So what's going on here? Have I installed the full UK maps or has something gone wrong here? I'm using latest version of maps, ovi suite and map loader.

Even when I finish downloading, there is no confirmation if anything was successfull.How can I check the regions that I already have and which versions I am on? It gets confusing to see new versions of maps being reported and me just unsure if I should take the time to redownload.

Mar 23, 2015When I download my photos to my computer, a few of the photos are accompanied by duplicates, each about 50KB or so. Their names do not begin with IMG, like the other photos, but are just a long string of digits. It happens with both still photos and videos, but not all of them, just about one in ten. I didn't do anything different with those photos, and can see no reason for a duplicate to be made.
Very strangely, the duplicates have different dates from the originals. For example the original was taken on 15th march, but the duplicate is dated 18th march.
This only started happening recently. Probably when I upgraded to Lollipop. What might this be?

Jun 19, 2012I recently reinstalled the firmware to my E90 Communicator but now I can't find the latest Maps application (3.01) anywhere. After the reinstallation my device only has the 2.0 Maps.
Both the firmware of the device and my Nokia Suite are the latest versions available. I sent Nokia an email and they replied that the Maps can be downloaded thru Nokia Suite, but I don't see any download links there.
Nokia Store's website simply states that the (newest) Maps application is not available for the E90 - but none of the older versions can be found. The same goes for Mail for Exchange - that was lost in the process as well and no longer available for this model from Nokia.

May 14, 2010I am a enthousiastic new owner of a Nokia 5800 XM. However I have a problem that ik cannot get resolved. It's about map Loader. I am able to connect my phone to teh mac using USB or Bluetooth and transfer my music and photo's using Nokia multemedia transfer and my contacts via iSync. However i am not able to update my maps using Map Loader. When I start map Loader I get a short notice of a message that the maps on my 5800 are aoutdated and that they wil have to be updated. Yes please, that is what ik really want! But then I get the following error message:
"Map catalogue loading failed." map Loader could't download the list of avaliable map regions. Possible causes include a lack of network connectivity or a problem on the maps server".
